Izzy sat back and crossed her arms, then put one leg over the other before answering, "After you passed out we managed to get to the office where we could contact Absolute for back-up. As you can see no one else got hurt, the rest of the demons were relatively easy to deal with once the Valiant came flooding through the portal. Then we came back and brought you immediately here - well, Trent did. He carried you ever since you collapsed. Do you feel alright? You had an awful fever."

After Adi's reply the sound of a few pairs of feet echoed down the corridor outside the infirmary, from the archway came Adromeda followed by Trent. Sister Adromeda walked with such grace it was like she was gliding, and when she approached Adi on the foot of the bed she asked "It is good to see that you have woken up, do you feel any aches inside your chest?" Her voice was calm, she was asking if Adi had managed to get poisoned. Trent couldn't help but roll his eyes from behind Adromeda as he leaned against a pillar beside the next bed. How on earth would she have been poisoned, as far as he was aware she didn't get a single scratch on her. Reaper blood was like poison, well, like most demon bloods. But it reacted with your heart, or your soul, made it feel heavy, made it beat slower and cause you to feel close to death. Adromeda was just making sure - but Trent put it down to exhaustion, and the fact she blatantly ignored him in not looking at Orion earlier.

You fascinated me, Cloaked in shadows and secrecy
The beauty of a broken angel; I ventured carefully...Afraid of what you thought I'd be, but pretty soon I was entangled

Teach me how to fight; I'll show you how to win.
You're my mortal flaw; and I'm your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting......The pain....The burn, Under my skin.
Put me to the test , I'll prove that I'm strong; Won't let myself believe, that what we feel is wrong

I Finally see what, you knew was inside me all along.....That behind this soft exterior.......

........Lies a warrior.......

Hearing what had happened, thought glad that no one else had been hurt and that back up had come. Adi still felt guilty for not being there to help, for 'passing out' thought it was a nice way to put it, the gypsy had fainted on the battle field and was embarrassed it was in front of important people. Hearing Trent had to carry her like some damsel in distress made her cheeks burn with shame and embarrassment.

"I'm sorry...I don't remember fainting or passing out at all. I'm glad to hear no one got hurt in our group and everyone was able to get out safely," she murmured twisting the glass in her hands for a bit before finishing off the water left in it....and still Adi felt parched; as if there wasn't enough water she could drink t quench it.

Then footfalls came and Adi forgot the water and stiffened with alertness ready to pounce or flee if needed. It was a useless instance of fight or flight for the gypsy as she knew she was in the city where she was safe, but the dream was too real and she still has yet to shake off the remaining feelings it inspired in her. But seeing Andromeda and Trent more importantly Adi relaxed a little enough that she wasn't stiff and ready to flew but she still had a prey caught in the predictor's claws wide eyed expression.

The white sister placed herself on her bed and asked a question that Adi found rather confusing. "No...well not that are different from what is like to wake up from a nightmare and have your heart beating out of your chest," she said with a forced smile hoping to set people at ease. "I can feel my ribs aching better then before so they must have healed some from the magic I used, but not fully and reverted back to an injured state. Other then that, I'm fine."

Adi continued to offer a forced smile, she was really fine, didn't fee like it really, but in regards to whatever Andromeda was worried about she was fine. So it wasn't really a lie, Adi was simply not telling the full truth.

"Have we discovered what happened to your Sister yet," Adi asked hoping to get off the topic of her. "And when can I leave, not particularly fond of infirmaries."

"Good" Adromeda replied, without much of an expression to go with it, as if Adi's still aching ribs were a good thing. "No poison then" Trent muttered, "no, Mr Highland" Adromeda added with an adge. However Adromeda was taken aback for a moment when Adi asked about Orion, Izzy bit her lip. The white lady seemed to show a small smile, it was very faint as she breathed out, "Sister Orion succumbed to a dark temptation, Consul Highland will tell you what you need to know. If you are feeling up to it, you can leave whenever you please." Sister Adromeda then got up and with a passing glance to Trent and Izzy left the room.

"You must be starving" Izzy said as she brushed a hand through her hair, taking out the band that kept it back, it fell to merge with her two bangs. "I believe you've woken up in time for dinner. The Consul has invited you and my family to her manor this evening to discuss everything, If you feel up to it, anyway?" Izzy asked as she took her magazine from the table side and looked back at her for a reply. She honestly thought Adi wouldn't be awake by now, she was actually secretly excited to have someone else's company at a dinner, the only company she'd ever have if her parents were invited to Highland's manor was Trent...

"Oh" she added, "you'll get to see where you're staying too, the Consul has a spare room, Trent will be around to keep you company" she turned her head as she spoke to look at him, but he was gone.

"Poison?" questioned Adi confused on why she would be poisoned and the having the feeling that her broken ribs though hurting but healing were a good thing. But she didn't get an answer for that question, but rather an answer about the Sister Orion; a dark temptation had consumed her.

Adi could understand that all to well.

Andromeda giving direction and permission for the gypsy to leave, Adi nodded and murmured a soft thank you before the graceful woman left. The silence hung a bit and Adi noticed more fully the scorch of darkness across the opposite wall from her. How the wall seemed tainted with a blackness that stretched like black lightning across the surface. It was Izzy's observation of her hunger that brought Adi out of her guilt ridden thoughts. On cue her stomach rumbled; it had been some times since she had eaten...not since the party at Never-sleep Mansion perhaps.

"Yes...I suppose I am; dinner is a good as a reason to leave this place as any," she stated. "Specially don't want to miss dinner with my host." That would be rude specially when she really wasn't in any state to say no, part of her thought just wanted to keep sleeping or be alone; people could be exhausting. Plus it was Izzy's parents who Adi had only met the once in battle but wanted to thank them again for their help. Mention of where she was sleeping though was a surprise.

"I'm not sleeping in your home," Adi said confused a bit, and not sure what to say. It was a thought in her head that she would say with those she knew...but evidently not. "Oh well...least Trent is there; one less stranger in the house then." Adi turned her head to to find him, as Izzy did but found him gone.

"Certainly a quiet one isn't he...I suppose he went to mansion ahead of us?"

Izzy looked from the vacant space to the dark scorched wall and then finally back at Adi, "I'd like to think so" she droned, "Or just to be awkward he might have chosen now as a good time to spar" Isabelle rolled her eyes as she took a stand. She brushed herself down and blinked in the afternoon sun going down, leaving orange streaks across the floor from the circular windows. As for Adi's cofnusion of the sleeping arrangements she could only sympathise, "I was as baffled as you are! Before we went to Magic Earth I presumed you would be in my family manor but Charlotte insists you be under her roof with the best protection". Izzy took her chair and placed it back against the column that Trent was earlier leaning against, "He'll get used to you, only then will you get used to him. He spends most of his time in his Aunt's drawing room anyway, with all the books and whatever else mundane objects he can sit and stare at."

It wasn't long until the two of them were arriving at the Highland family manor. It hadn't changed since Adi had been shown it this morning, only then it was probably glazed in morning dew. Now it was glowing in the setting sun, which thanks to the winter, was setting earlier than Izzy really enjoyed. She began with a groan, "I bet it will be cold enough to cut glass tonight" as she approached the front gate and held it open for Adi. She should have probably thought about what figure of speech she used when she was talking to adi first, but it never crossed her mind. When she let go it slowly swung back shut with a quiet rattle upon locking again. "My parents will probably be here already, I'm sure you'll remember them." it was almost as if ti was difficult, her mother was the stricter of the two, usually sporting a tightly tied back ponytail whilst her dad was tall, burly and had a trimmed beard who seemed to pity his wife's targets.

Izzy opened the door, strangely without knocking. Inside the hallway was wide and also extended onwards to a back room. On the right was a large living area and on the left were dining room. Each wall was lit with a strange glowing rock, carved and put within lamps. They could easily be dismissed for normal electric bulbs. Everything was decorated, mostly in solid colours that were darker rather than brighter. In the dining room Izzy felt it awkward to suddenly be stared at by everyone. Her parents and Charlotte seemed to standing as if listening to what Trent had to say, who was now looking over his shoulder and staring at Izzy and Adi along with the others. "Ah, Adi. I'm glad you could make it" began Charlotte, brushing past Trent to welcome her to her home.

Seeing as Isabelle was a s baffled by the change as she was, the gypsy worried her lower lip. The comment of best protection made her think though and furrow her brows in concentration. "Best protection? I thought being here in a hidden city, was the best protection I could get. Why the sudden change?" she asked aloud unsure if Izzy would answer or not, she may not even know herself which was the slight impression. Did it have to do with what happened on their mission, with Sister Orion?

It had to be, because that was the only thing that had changed.

Nodding along as Isabelle spoke of Trent, Adi partly listening and noting where and habits of the strange partner of hers, they made their way to Charlotte's home. The time of day different made it beautiful but also mysterious in its dark tones and colors; just shy of giving the impression of a haunted home. As for the weather, Adi nodded along not fully understanding the saying but got the gist of it. The cold she felt would be welcome, living on the plains in many places living in the open in winter wasn't new to her.

"I'm sure I'll remember them as well, I didn't have much time to speak with them however...beginnings of war and such," she said with a sarcastic chuckle and shrug as Isabelle let the way into the large home and led the way to the dinning area which sure enough everyone was there, Trent as well. Course all talked having stopped and the glance over his shoulder with his cold hard look made her feel like she had done something wrong. "I think we just walked in on a conversation that involved us," she whispered to Isabelle. For all Adi knew though and more likely it involved her specifically...she being such a hot topic around the city it seemed. Fortunately the awkwardness didn't last as Charlotte stepped forward to greet her.

"Thank you for having me, I apologize for what happened on the mission and for not exactly dressing for the occasion," she said with an awkward smile, if Rur'Adika had the time she would have changed, out of her travel and dirty clothes. "Short notice and all that." Looking to Isabelle and Nyru's parents the gypsy gave a smile and a nod. "Hello again."

"I think you are right" Izzy whispered back just as Charlotte came over. "Oh, don't be silly" Charlotte began as her small frame stopped in front of her, she looked back over her shoulder as Adi said hello to the Statems. Izzy's mother, Anita giving back a small smile and a nod. She wore a long black dress that was decorated with crimson red outlines of flora. Her was no longer in a tight bun behind her ears like the last time, this time it was still tightly brushed back but from the bun came a cascade of dark brown curls. Red lipstick to complete her pale complexion, matching her ruby earrings. Aubus on the other hand smiled more genuinely back with a "Welcome to Absóluté". He looked more casual, it was obvious Nyru took after his father when ti came to formal events, if it wasn't for Laxion these day's he'd never look as stylish. Aubus was wearing a cream tunic tucked in at the waist, he wore black jeans. The buttons and lace of his tunic was navy blue. His hair and beard hadn't changed though, jet black with a few greying strands, hair brushed back out of his face and neatly trimmed beard.

"If you would rather, I have some spare dresses upstairs. Or, even. There were a few things on your horse that I had taken to your room, I hope you don't mind. Bridget will have dinner done in ten minutes.
"Bridget?!" Isabelle repeated
"Not a word, Isabelle. She's under strict order to not cook any giblets soup".

"So" Aubus began quietly to Trent, "the whole back wall?"
"Yes sir" Trent replied, looking at Adi, and then Isabelle who looked great as always her in black and red dress, complete with black stilettos and dragon bracelets. He could't help but be jealous of Adi getting all the spotlight from Izzy today. "I'm surprised Nyru never mentioned it" Anita began, "in fact, when was the last time he wrote to us". Abus took it upon himself to say "It's because you mother him too much, besides, probably found himself a woman?" he looked to Trent, who suddenly became conflicted. He could tell the truth, or he could lie. Or he could do a mixture of the both. He hasn't told them Trent suddenly thought, "uh-" he began, unsure of what to say, "...yeah..." he couldn't lie! Not to the Statems, he was put on the spot. He wanted nothing more than for them to stop. "Not Claudia" Anita questioned, "No..." he said, "not Claudia... I don't know who, i wasn't there long enough." and with that he made sure to make his way to the girls, stopping beside Izzy whilst Charlotte explained the dressing arrangements to Adi. He whispered "they're asking questions" as if in a plea to escape.

Rur'Adika didn't really believe Charlotte and sent a quick glance to Izzy to see if she did or didn't. Nothing could be said as the gypsy's host was quickly right there and the welcomes from Nyru's parents filling the air. The way Trent hung back with them, the looks, Adi felt her stomach twist in an anxious way. In her mind she heard whispers of words of warning, that she wasn't safe, wasn't stable to be of use....to dark, and not enough light. She would have to be put down like some the demons that they fought.

In the end the gypsy was glad for the distraction of Charlotte and the mention of a clothing change. Greater yet to hear that Venrier had come and her bags removed and scent to her room.

"Oh yes that would be just fine," she said happily, much rather be in her own clothes then someone else's. It was when Trent came up and Rur'Adika caught a mention of 'questions' but the context of those she wasn't sure about so left them be. Looking to Isabelle though she gave a small pleading smile to her singular female friend present. "If we only have ten minutes I better hurry, some help may be needed. If you're alright with helping me Isabelle...thought I'm not even sure where my room is..."

The place was relatively huge and Adi expected to get lost many times before she learns exactly where is going.

"Very well" Charlotte said, giving them all a quick smile and letting them be. She then turned on her feet and rejoined the Statems as Izzy was replying to Trent, she rolled her eyes, "you know my mother, she likes to know everything-"
"There are some things about your brother I cannot tell her - it isn't my place." was Trent's quick and short reply, Isabelle seemed to only reply with tight lips and an uncertain expression. She was aware that sooner or later there would be a great discussion about Nyru's life and his relationship with Laxion. But then she began to wonder just how much Trent might have let loose. Thankfully Adi took her attention from that thought of the inevitable and she was returning a smile, "yes" she said, clasping her hands together, "love to". She gave Trent a small glance as she stepped back from him and around to the staircase that ran through the main corridor of the manor.

Upstairs it was dull, little natural twilight from outside could get in as the rooms upstairs gave the corridors now room for windows accept for at the very end. Along the walls were various paintings, some portraits. Round a corner and past a small table with a vase of flowers Izzy pushed open a large wooden door to reveal Adi's room. It was large and square. Centred against the wall on the left was a large double bed complete with a set of its only collection of black and cream pillows, with a matching plump duvet. The floor was planked with mahogany and covered with a large rug. The furniture was black too, a surprisingly modern twist to a traditional home. On the foot of the bed were Adi's things. "Well" Izzy began, "This will be your room, I hope you like it, I insisted Charlotte give you this one - to which she agreed was obvious..." she looked over the room as she turned at the foot of the bed, she looked up "I'm sorry about that, just then." She took in a breath, her voice was quiet and delicate, "It was rude of them to stare like that, not very welcoming." she then sighed, "So, what's your outfit for tonight?"

She wasn't exactly sure what about Nyru was the issue, both Izzy and Trent were half speaking about an issue that their parents didn't know abot. As Adi wasn't sure what it was about let alone wasn't about to tell his parents anything either that would mean Nyru's parents were upset with him. Least that was the hope. Isabelle though was more then happy to use her offer of helping her pick out an outfit as a distraction.

So thus Adi found her away to her bedroom, attempting to note which hall and which turns by marking a painting or rug, anything really as a land mark in which to turn. The gypsy was certain she would regardless get lost as they finally made it to her bedroom. Complete with a large bed and furniture all darkly stained or painted.

"It is a nice room...I wasn't expecting something like this; fancy and big," she said with a smile hoping her comment would appease her host and friend. Walking to the saddle bags on her bed, Adi began to rummage through a small chest, arm all the way into the chest up to her shoulder practically when really the chest only had the depth of her elbow. As Izzy apologized Adi shook her head as she rummaged further thoughtful expression on her face. "It's alright...I'm really getting used to it...there's likely only to be further staring as I continue to be here and walk among the city." Didn't mean she liked it but Adi was growing indifferent, there was no point getting fussy over something that was pound to happen.

As for her outfit, Adi finally pulled out a dress and having gone by feel was happy that she had gotten it right. "Since there seems to be a running black and red theme I thought I would go with that." The dress was a deep crimson, layers of black over laying it in lace at times or decorating the trim. It had a lower neck that would politely show off her assets as well as a hint of the scars running down her body from shoulder to hip from Lucifiel. the skirt flowing outward and not particularly fluffy still had a mass to them. It was more of a formal gown she had come by and didn't appear gypsy at all. "Hopefully it will do."

And thus Adi began to remove her rumpled travel clothes. She wasn't particularly modest when it came to being around other females, often in a gypsy caravan getting ready with a group of woman wasn't uncommon. However, Adi did know that her clothing covered the scars she had come to gain from battles fought but also her rather slightly unhealthily skinny frame. Since the battle with the king of hell, Adi hadn't had much of an appetite, though forcing herself to eat at times or when in the company of others, one could still see the shadow of her ribs. That her hip bones were just a bit to sharp as they pointed out from beneath her skin.

Pulling the garment over her head, hoping Izzy hadn't noticed too much, Adi tight adjusted the front before calling for assistance for her friend. "Mind getting the back, it'll be quicker if you tie it."

Only when the ties to the corset like top was tightened and tied did the two of them return to the hall just as Adi finished doing her hair up in a messy but somehow formal pile with pins.

"Hopefully we're not late?" she said with apologetic smile.

"..That behind this soft exterior...
........Lies a warrior.......

Teach me how to fight; I'll show you how to win
You're my mortal flaw, And I'm your fatal sin
Let me feel the sting....The pain....The burn, Under my skin

Put me to the test , I'll prove that I'm strong...
Won't let myself believe, that what we feel is wrong
I Finally see what, you knew was inside me...all along
That behind this soft exterior.....Lies a warrior.....

.....Lies a warrior...

My memory refused...To separate the lies from truth, and search the past, my mind created
I kept on pushing through, standing resolute which you. In equal measure.......Loved and hated
The pictures come to life; wake in the dead of night. Open my eyes, I must be dreaming; Clutch my pillow tight
Brace myself for the fight, I've heard that seeing.....Is believing.

It all came as a sigh of relief from the Valiant's lips as she watched Adi rummage through her bewitched chest, Izzy had forgotten what a gypsies enchanted compartments were like. "If only my wardrobe did that" she quietly commented in a small bit of awe when Adi pulled out her dress. Isabelle let out a short "oo" and put her hands on her hips, "you never cease to impress with your adaptability, you'll fit right in."

Izzy helped where she could, without really making much of a comment unless she needed to. She was glad that Adi was more than happy to change with her present, it made her feel Adi was comfortable here. As Adi began to take her clothes off though Izzy couldn't help but pay attention to Adi's small frame, her travel clothes had been good at concealing it, at first Izzy just took it with a pinch of salt and ignored it. Though then only paying slight attention to her hips and ribs as she brought the dress around her torso Adi became slightly concerned, the scare however made no impact on her - scars were a daily part of Valiant life, she had many of her own. "Mhm" Izzy hummed as she came behind Adi to tighten the back of her dress, when she was dun she looked over her shoulder into the mirror, brushing her hands down Adi's arms, "Look's great" she said with a smile. "Of coarse not" Izzy replied then making her way to the door. Reluctantly she stopped at the door and turned around, her voice a little croaky at the first breath from finding her way with words as to not offend, "If you... ever need someone to talk to, I'll always be here.

As they came down the stairs into the main hallway, the others were then passing through the archway on the left that led to the dining room, backing onto the kitchen behind it through closed double doors. Izzy let out an exasperated sigh as she strode in, "I'm starving." Both of their seats were together, Izzy sat next to Trent, while Adi's seat was next to her with an empty place beside it. Opposite the three of them was Charlotte opposite Adi, with Anita facing Izzy and Aubus in the other corner. Trent was paying no attention, not until Aubus' burly tone cut away from prior conversation, "Lovely dress".
"Just in time girls, Bridget's just readying the plates" added Charlotte, seated beside a smiling and surprisingly welcoming Anita. Trent stared though, he hadn't expected Adi to have clothing so similar in taste to dining with the Valiant. Any train of thought had lost him though, he was taking in Adi's bare skin, decorated with hints of a scar. She was breath-taking. "Catching flies, Trenton?" Isabelle said, her chin resting on her hand with a grin on her lips, Trent closed his parted lips and looked between Izzy and Adi before quietly saying "sometimes I like to breath through my mouth"
"Really"
" Bridget's cooking" he added, shrugging and breaking all eye contact.

The meals brought out were surprisingly similar to that of a roast dinner, steamed vegetables and roasted potatoes with a portion of gammon. Gravy was optional. Bridget, a tall girl with messy curls of hair all over her shoulders barely caught back by he hair band, seemed to serve her meals proudly. Charlotte, upon finding hers let out a small sigh with a smile to finish, she could only think how happy she was Bridget didn't sneak in anything strange this time.

"So" Charlotte began, resting her wrists on the table's edge, "I usually don't call for a group dinner without having a reason. Adi, I think I owe you an apology. I may not have told you the complete truth when you first arrived this morning." Charlotte blinked slowly, resting her cutlery down on the table and giving Adi the most sincere eye contact she could, "There is a much larger reason why we've asked for you help, for your light. Yes, our weapons are failing, yes... Xantho is to blame. You heard his name before... Xantho is one of many who has wanted to expose Magic Earth to the non-magic folk. But unlike them he is achieving. He is corrupting the Valiant, particularly the weapons we use against demons. Which means more demons, creating more chaos and making it more difficult for us to do our job. We've protected the border for two millennia since the Great Voyage, and for the first time... we're struggling. I just did not expect for it to be as bad as today, or for you to witness what you had"

They send me away to find them a fortune
A chest filled with diamonds and gold....The house was awake
With shadows and monsters.....The hallways they echoed and groaned........I sat alone, in bed 'til the morning
I'm crying, "They're coming for me"

......And I tried to hold these secrets inside me
My mind's like a deadly diseaseI'm bigger than my body....................I'm colder than this home................I'm meaner than my demons.

I'm bigger than these bones.......And all the kids cried out, "Please stop, you're scaring me"
..............I can't help this awful energy
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me.........

........"Who is in control?".......

Smirking at hearing what her companion said, Adi looked over her shoulder at her. "I can make it that way if you like. Gypsy magic is very specific and a secret of our culture. I can make the exception and doing a little refinement on your wardrobe," she offered; it would have to wait though. As for her ability to adapt the gypsy shrugged. "Sometimes as a gypsy we have to adapt even when we may not like to...I am more lenient as I'm always willing to immerse in a culture."

Adi heard no comment from Izzy about her figure or that she should eat or take care of herself better. No her friend just tied up the back of the dress and complimented her, to which Rur'Adika genuinely smiled as they stepped out. The offer to talk was pleasing to hear even when Adi wasn't sure if she could take her upon the offer didn't mean she didn't appreciate it. "Thank you Izzy...I really mean that too," she murmured just before they entered.

There places already predetermined, Adi smiled pleasantly as she took a seat. The compliment from the married man, though clearly completely innocent did make Adi blush perhaps just a little bit. It only grew though as the young woman caught Trent's staring from the corner of her eye; managing not to act oblivious to his gaze and focus on the elder male. "Thank you, I thought it would best fit the theme of Absolute that I've been seeing." Trent's staring thought made her self conscious of the slight scar adorning the side of her neck where she was nicked by a throwing knife; the two highest claw marks from Lucifel just visible adorning her collar bone and chest before disappearing under the hem of her dress.

Meal brought out, the smell of it making Adi realize that she hadn't eaten in well over 24 hours give or take how long she was out. Seeing the cook come out, the gypsy raised to be polite smiled. "Thank you, looks and smells delicious."

Adi perhaps would have dug right in if it wasn't for Charolette speaking up and surely bring up the unspoken elephant in the room. Apology a bit unexpected she accepted it with a nod. "I suspected your reasoning for me being exclusively invited here was half truth," she said honesty. Failing weapons again, but this Xantho was more so to blame then time, and the stranger's reasoning reminding her far to much of Zolten and Dorian's plot that it made her visibly shiver.

"So thus stopping this Xantho would seize the issue of your weapons; it was bound to happen eventually better sooner then later I suppose," Adi murmured surprising herself a bit how cam she was with being partly tricked and plans blowing up in her face. "I still understand who this Xantho character is and how is he able to corrupt your people and weapons."

Corrupting, it was far too familiar term to Adi who had to deal with Zolten and Dorian so long ago but so recently as well. Their power was very corrupting and corrosive....it made her so weary of the darkness she presently possessed.

"How can really help, how can my light help more specifically," she asked, knowing if it weren't for her light, Adi herself would not be sitting here but some other person.

As she had thought, Adi was not stupid. Charlotte could only keep her head raised as if in confidence and hope that she was forgiven. There were things she had to do as Consul and sometimes it was difficult. Sometimes it even meant holding secrets from her own family. "Exactly" she replied to Adi's suggestion of stopping Xantho. As for how Adi came into this and how Xantho was doing it the talk passed to Aubus, who looked like he had just swallowed some food. "You saw only a fraction of what Xantho seems to be capable of earlier. But it isn't the first time he has taken one of our Sisters from us. The first was Sister Ara, in New York."
"She was assigned to the Cult there" Anita continued, "but unlike London it wasn't harmed, only Ara was making blasphemous accusations and yelling about freedom. She has vanished since then and hasn't been seen, it hasn't been until today that we've become concerned of her whereabouts". And then it was back to Charlotte, "Xantho was one of us. A Valiant stationed in London little over a decade ago. Back then I wasn't Consul, but Trent's father was. Xantho had always been very inquisitive, apparently as a kid - a good quality, but not when you must follow strict rules. In London he began well, but after a few years he became very curious of the Servants of the Pentacle. Our craftsmen. From there he was warned not to disturb them, nor to keep demons alive, or to take missions alone. In the end we found a body. He was presumed dead until last year when we heard rumours, and only earlier this year did we encounter Ara's situation. Now we cannot deny he must be out there - somehow."
"Told you" Trent muttered, then being glared at by Charlotte. She continued, "Your light is precious to us, Adi. Forgive me if you're already familiar with this. Our power comes from very much the same place as yours, only yours is much more potent. It has long been in legend that Magic Earth and all magic folk were born of one artefact, a monumentally powerful object known as the Occulanium. Over two millennia ago the descendants of all magic folk were born, the Eternal. Whilst all the races of Magic Earth have been evolving, they have come further away from their forefathers - just looks at how mundane some magic folk are these days - they can barely handle the concept of arcane magic or can hardly take a pounding. Our race however, the Valiant, has barely changed. Our power comes directly from the Eternal that started the Occult. And their's from the Occulanium. What ties you and us together here is that the Occulanium is mythic, can only be found in stories now. But what we still firmly believe in is that the Occulanium was an instrument of the Heavens. You are the closest thing we have to heavenly fire. If our fire burns out - we hope that you could restart the flame."

They're people corrupted and abandoning their posts; their weapons powering waning and failing. It was clear to Rur'Adika that the Occult, Absolute in its entirety needed her help...her light. To empower them and to shine light into the deepest of shadows to light their way. Another battle against an evil...exhausted still from the last; barely felt she had recovered and there was more asked of her.

Harbinger of Vigour...there seemed to be no rest for her.

"Demons can't walk this plan unopposed and there is a balance of light and darkness that must be maintained," she murmured feeling her stomach twist and suddenly she didn't feel like eating any more. Still the gypsy forced a smile while her mind and body screamed at her to run abandon everything for sake of sanity and peace. "I'll do what I can to help."

Adi wasn't sure what else there was to say considering she just gave her full support.

In Adi's murmur part of Isabelle wanted to ask the talk to end already, what the elders probably didn't understand was that Adi is not of this life. She has had a greatness thrust upon her and after all that's happened to her it may well not be a blessing. She fought off a Greater Demon and lost a friend in the process. She had her soul torn from her body and put back in. Isabelle couldn't begin to try and understand how Adi must feel. But unlike the Valiant she was not born into death, blood and fury. But Adi's reply put her heart at rest, Charlotte seemed glad, "thank you" she said, "again."

The rest of dinner went seemingly as normal for Isabelle, Trent was mostly silent as usual, and the Statems would casually make conversation with Izzy, Trent and Even Adi. Anita was quite interested in the Gypsy way of life.

Once dinner had finished however everything finally began to slow down. The statems announced their leave and readied their things, Isabelle on the other hand said that she would stay for a short while longer, to know that Adi settles in alright - and so atleast she wouldn't be left with Trent right away. "Do not forget your training in the morning" Anita said, putting her arms through her jacket sleeves, Izzy replied with a nod. They said their goodbyes and no sooner than the door closing did Trent turn on his heel for the stairs. When Charlotte turned around she could only huff and put her arms on her hips as if outraged. "That boy" she said, "You'd think he's still a child. Does anyone want tea? I'll have Bridget send the trolley up?"
