Kachine

Kachine nodds her head, "Yeah, I'll distract it once we get there to give you a clear shot." She follows Mona into the nearby woods and ducks under its legs and stabs it. Her sword gets stuck as the hydra kicks its leg up in pain. "F. F. F." she dangles to her sword and wraps her legs around the monster's leg pulling for her sword to come out of the scaly thigh.
"I've made a terrible mistake!" she screamed to Mona. "But I'm being a great distraction, right?" she tried to joke, even though she was sure that the hydra was about to kill her...
One of it's necks twisted, unnaturally, downward making eye contact with Kachine.
"Oh... Hello." She told the monster, "Don't mind me. I'm just.. doing.. things that don't effect you at all. Heh... heh..." Her sword finally fell out of the leg and she stabbed the creature through the eye.
"GOT ONE EYE!" As she ducked under the other leg to give Mona a better shot.

"Just please don't die!" Mona gets to the trees and turns to see Kachine under the beast and about to be killed.
"No!" And just as she's about to run in and be a bit reckless herself, Kachine saves herself and takes out an eye in the process. Damn woman...but good job...
"Oh my gods, woman, you are my first friend here. DO. NOT. DIE!!" Each of the last words were punctuated by a gunshot and a scream of pain from the creature. Her last shot missed.
"Ok two more eyes. How are you with a gun? I've got my empty gun in my belt and a reload mag in my pocket. Want to shoot a bit?"

"I'm not trying to die here Mona! I'm not screaming, 'Hey Hydra kill me.' Give me more credit, man!" Kachine jumped at the first bullet's impact with the creature, but the rest were mixed in with the creature's roar of pain. She rolled next to Mona,
"Shooting? Doesn't that require learning how to shoot before I get my hands on it? I mean, if you want me too... I can't guarantee my aim is any good."
The unblinded head charged at the two girls and Kachine swung, chopping off the Hydra's head. Her heart felt like it was shrinking.
"Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff." She tilted her head back, "I'm such an IDIOT." She picked her head back up, just in time to watch two heads slowly grow into place. She smiled weakly at Mona, "This is like a great bonding exercise... right?" She jabbed out the baby eyes on one of the heads, but the other head jerked back out of Kachine's reach.
"Yeah, maybe I'll take that gun now..."

"I know. I'm sorry. I worry, okay? And in this instance it's not like it could hurt. Better than cutting...it's heads off..." Mona takes a moment to look at Kachine. "It's okay. It's just 5 heads. That's not so bad. Yeah bonding. This is how people become best friends" At hearing Kachine ask for the gun Mona takes the empty one out and puts a full mag in. "Okay pull this back to load the gun. Point. And pull the trigger. They may be little but the do kick but not too bad." Mona hands the loaded gun to Kachine. "I believe in you" She winks at Kachine and turns back to the hydra after taking a moment to reload her own gun.

(Pretend my picture is here. Photobucket isn't working. You know what I look like.)

Kachine

Kachine put down her sword and did as Mona said and aimed at at the beast, she tried to steady her hand as her finger lingered on the trigger. She closed one eye and pulled the trigger. The bullet grazed the beast's face. "Stop moving!" She yelled as she pulled the glock back again. She pointed up, but the monster was blindly coming after her, she shot again, her hands shakey, she hit the eye, but barely. She shook her head,
"I think the gun stuff is best left to people who know what they're doing with them!" She put the safety on and went to tuck it in her pants and remembered she was wearing yoga pants. How inconvenient. She drops the gun and reaches for her sword as the hydra charges again. She lunges back it, her sword going through its mouth, venom dripping from its teeth. A drop hit her arm and she yanked her sword back watching the acid burn her skin. She blew on it, but another head came after her, she'd have to worry about it later. She rolled back from the hydra's bite. She lightly chuckled at Mona, despite the agonizing pain,
"I hear chicks dig battle scars." Her arm was going numb. She let it hang limply at her side, and held her sword in one hand.

ooc: i lost count of eyes...

While Kachine handled that head Mona took out another eye. She sees Kachine hit the eye and feels a swell of pride. "It's alright, guns aren't for everyone. You did well. Just one eye left." She swoops up the discarded gun, double checks the safety, and puts it away in her belt.
Mona notices that the head with the last eye is now charging at Kachine. She's lining up the shot when Kachine's sword goes through the head.
She sees the burn on Kachine's arm. "This thing has venom!! Dammit, we need to wrap this up, that needs to be treated." Mona shoots the last eye, totally blinding the creature.
"Okay. What now? How do we actually kill this?"

((OOC: No, that was the right amount of eyes. You were right. I was keeping track at least. Jeez.))

Kachine felt pity for the blind thing. It was like they were torturing it. She shook the idea away, it was trying to kill them! They had to do this. She looked at Mona,
"Um... Stab it in the heart might do the trick, yeah?"
Kachine's unpoisoned arm was starting to feel weak, the five mile run, then this? It was really starting to take its toll. She pulled herself together, this was almost over. She had to end this poor things misery. She looked Mona again,
"We have to sneak under it and stab it in the heart. If that doesn't work... Well then I don't know." She took a step forward to kill the creature alone, but instead invited Mona to join her, "We fought this bustard together. Let's kill it together."

Mona listened to Kachine's plan. It sounded insane but it was the best one they had. At least if they went down they'd go down together.
Mona put her other gun away and grasped her sword with both hands. She's not as good with a sword but shes determined to give it her all. She nodded and started to advance on the creature. Running to the creatures left to try and get a good swing in while still staying away from the heads. As she goes in for a stab the beast turns and whacks her away with its tail. Mona hits the ground but recovers and gets back up to finally end this thing with Kachine.

"Alright, we'll have to roll as quickly as possible under there and stab the minute we pop up. We've got to be fast. Got it?" Kachine felt this would be a good time to stretch her arms, but since only one was able to do anything, she would avoid trying it. She took the position and wondered why Girl Scouts didn't teach more fighting at camp as she counted them down, "1." she shook her sword holding arm a bit. "2." She took a deep breath. "3!" She dashed into a tumble towards the hydra.

"Got it!" Mona listened to Kachine count up to 3 and prepared herself.
As her friend said 3 Mona followed Kachine into a tumble under the beast and thrust her sword upwards once she was in a good position. Both their swords struck their mark and Mona gave a sigh of relief as the hydra stopped moving.
The beast fell to the side with their swords still in it's chest.
Mona turned to Kachine and couldn't help the bout of hysterical laughter that came over her. They had done it! They'd survived!

((OOC: And I'm going to bed girlfriend.))

Kachine sat on the ground as she laughed with her new friend. She grabbed her swords hilt and pulled it out, this sword was hers now. Her first kill and it was with this sword. She would have to name it. Maybe Venom Blade or something cheesy like that. She wiped the hydra blood off on the grass and relaxed.

She leaned her head on Mona's shoulder, "I could use a nap after that." She closed her eyes. She would treat the venom eating away her arm later. It was already scarred, she was too exhausted to do anything else. Her hand still gripping Venom Blade, she fell asleep, or more like passed out, in the grass finally overtaken by dehydration, exhaustion, and poison.

She would wake up in a few hours fine... Possibly.

Mona watched Kachine pull her weapon out and clean it. She had a very satisfied feel to her aura that was quickly being replaced with exhaustion. Kachine laid her head on her shoulder and mumbled something about a nap before passing out.
Mona looked down at the girl and remembered that her arm had been injured. Being careful not to wake her, Mona slowly shifted the girl to the grass to get a better look at her arm. Noticing that the venom is starting to move up her friend's arm Mona runs back into the temple to grab her first aid kit and some blankets.
She goes back outside and throws one of the blankets over the sleeping girl and then gets to work. Mona cleans the wound as best she can before smearing a generous amount of a drawing salve made from her great-grandmother's recipe to pull the venom out before wrapping the whole thing in bandages and making a mental note to change them in a few hours.
Once her friend is cared for Mona decides that a nap sounds like a good idea. It had been a long morning of travel and now this. Needless to say she was exhausted. She picked up her supplies and grabbed the other blanket then lays down by her friend and falls asleep.

Kachine woke up with a yawn and stretched her arms. She admired the sunset, as the stars started to peak out. Had they been sleeping all day? The others must have finished training. And no one noticed them? Or were they still training. She sure hoped not.

She could feel her arm! She went to tell Mona, then realized Mona was probably the one who fixed her up. She admired the huge hydra they had taken down together.

Tears reached her eyes, but she shook them away before anyone could see them. The meat of a hydra was poisonous, the venom fatal if not treated quickly, and there was just this huge dead beast in the backyard of the temple. Which led the question,
"How in the Hell did a creature this big, get into the backyard of a protected Temple? Something's not right." She tapped Mona's shoulder, trying to wake her friend up.

Seemingly, or probably literally, from the aether at the gates to the palace, appeared the fairly tall, completely shrouded figure of artyom, Victoria's blood still anointing his ebony mask, no doubt having aided his transition. Sharp emerald eyes, barely visible through the fine view slits, scanned the immediate vicinity he had been deposited to, his bow once again clutched with an arrow nocked in his left hand and partly shrouded by the shoulder cape that obscured that half of his body and quiver.

He silently admitted he had never seen such grand architecture, and might not get used to it either with his heritage.. he began to step silently on oddly booted feet, flowing into the primary grand hall of the temple, looking very stolid in his rather unique armor, leathers and cloth. hopefully the temple would answer more questions without hostile interruptions from seemingly malevolent deities. He strode across the temple towards what activity he could pick out from a distance, vividly aware of the new sensations surrounding him, supernatural and not.
