Well, Halloween is approaching, I seriously doubt anyone even going to read this because our number of posts has declined drastically, at least in my opinion, therefore the next round of pokings will be going out soon. there are still some of you who have not posted anything what so ever...Im not annoyed at all ^_^ anyway, back to what I was going to talk about. How many of our guild members are going to dress up/cosplay for Halloween? I'm making a GL outfit to wear, but it will make its way to my normal clothing. I guess Ill add cat ears to it or something I dunno. Anyway, post your halloween outfits!

Honey bear, I went as Sherlock Holmes to a halloween party, and then as a voyeur at Castro street....it was a lot of fun, but I was sad I didn't cosplay. I always love wearing the clothes you make-- there's pure love in every stitch 4laugh

T T help please!!! There is a tutorial that someone has made up somewhere....if you can read Japanese, theres one in a Cosmode magazine that has FMA cosplayers on the cover. Actually I believe you can make a fairly good one out of some kind of craft foam, but I'm not sure, I think the material that they use is actually thinner than that. If I find the website I'll post it later. But alas, for now its class time!

Theres a thread in the cosplay and convention forum floating around somewhere with a huge list of links for tutorials and what not. Your skill level and the amount of work you put into it are factors that also come into play. Just keep in mind cheap material doesn't mean cheap looking outfit...

okay, I was wondering if somebody had ever done a certain Naruto cosplay, as far as anybody knows. My entire Anime club is trying to decide an Anime to cosplay as at AX together, but they want to be obscure characters from said anime. Also, we don't have a lot of people who read all the good manga, so we are stuck with Naruto by popular vote. Anyway: has anybody ever seen a Gate of Life Lee? (Pic has been changed to a link to prevent page stretching. - Rumania)http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c375/thetom1313/RockLeeBack.jpg (two pics, just in case somebody isn't savvy) My backup is Kabuto, in case you ask.

I don't believe I've ever seen anything but a normal Rock Lee cosplayer. Still I highly recommend cosplaying anything other than a Naruto character. There are just 100 billion Naruto cosplayers out there, especially at AX. sweatdrop However, if you're going to cosplay Rock Lee, ya might as well be a "Gate of Life" Rock Lee, I suppose...

I'm na have to disagree with you on this one, if you want to cosplay a Naruto character, then do so as your lil heart desires. It doesn't matter if your costume choice is over done or not, if you want to do it then go right ahead. As long as you like it, do your best, and are covered enough to walk out in a public street, then you're fine. You have a chance to take a costume into a different direction and make it if your own. Also an advantage for people cosplaying as a Naruto character is it gives an opportunity for other non-naruto cosplays to get attention wink

Well, it wasn't really my complete choice, it was a group decision thing, and my school is filled with narutards. They actually asked me what the hell Fullmetal Alchemist was. Thats how bad they are.
So I am stuck being a Naruto character. But I wanted to be unique. Thus gate of life Lee. well, it is good and unique, from what I hear, so that is good. I also like the way his hair looks, because my hair is about the right length for that.

well if u dont want to go as a naruto charector dont go as one. there are so many of them at every convention another one wont be missed. plus group costumes in my experince doesnt turn out ot great unless you have some like *ill regreat saying this latter*a sewing club where you all work on your costumes together cause it take the whole group to make it work but it takes one to screw it up.
for example me and my freinds went as dears charecter but our ren couldnt get the wig intime and had a rip in her shirt. with out her costume we looked more like we where going to an s&m convention.
i know that wont happen considering its naruto but still dont get sucked in to a group costume if u dont wont to

alas, I DO want to... but I want to be really unique.
I am also not sure what I could do other than a Naruto character anyway... I'm average height and weight, blueish eyes (with enough money to get maybe some contacts), and wavy brown hair. ( I was going to dye and spray it for Lee or Kabuto, so I could do it for anything else.)
My problems are thus: I am not rich, thus very elaborate costumes are beyond me. My hair is short, thus no long haired costumes, unless I get a wig. I am male, thus this effectively limits how well people will know my characters I am being.
That being said, any other suggestions? I am open to them...
