She blushed a dark shade of red. "Errmm... y-yeah I have. Don't worry about it, I managed by myself." She said softly, still blushing. She stood there in the towel not really knowing what to do with herself. She wasn't exactly sure of bathroom protocol having never been in this position before.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what you need me to do now." She felt the blush increasing again.

She listened to her words and her face sofetened some more. A smile curved her lips as she made her way over behin the paravent. She put the clean shift there and shook her head at the dirty clothes. She popped her head out from behind the paravent and looked at Elizabeth. "Miss Jennings, I have asked Miss Adams for some clean clothes that should be more suitable for your class and put them here. You do not have to wear them but I would be incredibly grateful if you did ...", with that she walked up from behind the paravent and took a step closer to Elizabeth. "You may now change, my dear".

"Thank you, but already so much has been done for me. How can I accept such a gift?" She asked with a frown.
She walked over to the paravent and looked at the clothes. As the lady had said all the clothes were more of her class level, with a green bodice and skirt as well as a clean shift. There was even a corset there. They all looked like they'd barely been worn at all.
She looked back over at the lady's maid. "Is miss Adams sure about this? I don't wish to take from someone I've never met."

"She very much is, my dear. She wanted you to have it as she won't be able to wear any kind of clothing for much longer", she said and a soft sigh escaped her lips. "The lord will soon take care of her. So do not fret, my dear. She is very grateful to know that this will help you", she smiled brightly then turned and walked over to the dressing table preparing anything she'd need.

She smiled in return and went behind the paravent to dress. It had been so long since she had worn new clothing that it felt like some kind of dream. She put everything on and stepped out from behind the screen, rubbing her wet hair with a towel. "It all fits." She said with a smile, looking down at the new outfit.

"Now look at you", she said then she swiftly walked up to her putting her hands on Elizabeth's shoulders. She led her to the dressing table and made her sit down. She took the towel from her and began to gently rub her hair dry. She then brushed it before she looked around for her bonnet. "Oh? Where did you put your bonnet, Miss Jennings?"

She looked at her reflection in the mirror and couldn't believe the sight that stared back at her wide eyed. Gone was the dirt and grime, in it's place her pale, under nourished skin seemed to glow slightly. Her hair fell in silken waves after being washed for the first time with expensive soaps, and the clothes fitted her perfectly. She tore her eyes away from the mirror to look over at Miss Dempsey. "I thought I put it with my old clothes." She said softly.

"Oh, silly me!", she chuckled a little and walked over to the door. "I'm going to get you a new one. I put yours to the washing with the rest of your clothes", with that she walked out again, leaving Elizabeth alone in her silence again.

She went to say something to make her stay. But shut her mouth and just sat there, feeling awkward. She turned back to the mirror and again was shocked by the person staring back at her.

MIss Dempsey came back shortly after and put the clean bonnet on the dressing table. "There we go. I got you a plain bonnet that fits perfectly to your clothes", she smiled at Elizabeths reflection in the mirror.
"Oh my dear, you seem a little concerned. What is worrying you?".

"I am just a little shocked I think." She answered honestly. "I've never looked so lady like before." She turned to Miss Dempsey. "Thank you so much for the help."

"Good lord, don't be. It's not the clothes that make you look like a lady it's your true heart and fine manners. It seems like the place you came from is the wrong place. You belong here. And dear Mr Griffiths likes you a lot".

She blushed a little. "Why would he like me? I'm just a peasant." She said softly, well aware that she found Mr Griffiths very pleasing.

"He's always been a man close to the people", she said but then she shook her head. "What am I doing tettling like that. Shame on me. I apologise. Dinner will be ready soon, my dear", she walked over to the door to open it, so Elizabeth could walk outside. "I shall lead the way".
