Tibarn looked to Mari-Mac " sorry... i guess i forgot to mention it, it's really not that big of a deal. It just means i am strong, if someone stronger were to come along, then i would gladly give them my title" turning his attention back to Fuega he grinned " good, i would not expect you to be impressed by a mere title. By your words, i assume you wish to fight me and test my abilities? If so, i would be honored to prove my strength to you. However, in my culture it is considered dishonorable to fight while in this humanoid form. If nessecary, i will fight in this form, but with your permission i would prefer to be in my laguz form."

Mari-mac had staggered back. She stared in disbelief. Not only was he a king of his race but he was willing to fight her great grandmother, a fire demon, to prove he could keep her safe on a trip to see the world beyond her home.
So eager to accept a challenge. And he never falters with his manners....... Black ears folded back as she regarded him for a moment, "Take what ever form you think is best. Put me down and I will feel confident you can protect my kin."

Tibarn looked at Mari-Mac apologetically, he really should have said something before. Looking back at Fuega he nodded solemly " Thank you Fuega. Though i warn you in advance, i cannot speak this language in my other form, once transformed i will be ready to begin at any time." He said then hunched over, a green veil surrounded him and when it cleared a giant Hawk stood in Tibarns place. He flared his wings and flapped stirring up the air.

Mari-mac could only watch half in amazement of this new form, and half in terror of what was going to happen. "Please!" she pleaded, "Don't hurt him!"
The spotted female showed no sign of amazement at the change. A deep guttural growl rumbled as her lips pulled back to show her sharp white fangs. In a swift jerking movement Fuega lunged forward. Fire rippled across her gleaming fur and through parted jaws a stream of hot molten liquid erupted.

Tibarn seemed to chuckle at Mari-Mac's exclamation and gave her a reassuring look. He wanted to tell her it would be alright, but of course, a beak tended to make it hard to express such sentiments to a beorc.
Looking back to Fuega he waited until the last second and shot into the air only singing a few feathers in the process. He mentally frowned, but now was not the time to fuss over his feathers, that would not win Fuega's respect. Making a mental not to be more careful, he circled above her and dived, talons extended.

A few balls of fire streamed up after him, each a smidgen off mark. When he dove back at her she huffed, "Infernal gate!" fire rolled and engulfed her. When it faded she was gone. Several feet away a burst of flames opened up and the female demon reappeared. She had hoped to time it so he would be close enough to pounce. Full released from the teleportation she leaped forward, claws extended.The clatter and noise drew the attention of a multi tailed male, "Mom?! everything o.......k..............." Kuma blinked a few times in a bit of confusion as to what he was seeing.

Tibarn landed face forward on the ground with Fuega on his back. That was a clever tactic. Obviously he would have to step up his game. Lurching to his feet he flared his wings and took off into the sky with Fuega still on his back. He titled vertically in midair hoping to dislodge her and send her falling to the ground.

"Mom!" Kuma cried out and made to run to her aid.
"Grandpa!" Mari-mac wailed in near tears, "Don't! He's not bad!"
The five tailed male blinked a few times then skirted around the outside of the area the battle was taking place. "Making it to his grand daughter, "MM, what on earth is gong on here?!"
She looked at him with teary eyes, "His names Tibarn, the king of a race of beings that look humanoid with big feathery wings. I told him of how croweded it could get and that I would love to see the world but didn't want to leave because I didn't want to hurt any of your feelings or make all of you worry about me. So he offered to come talk to great granny Fuega and ask to be my guardian. Now he's trying to prove to her he's strong enough to protect me and transformed to into that huge hawk!" her words came out in a long, breathless string.
Claws dug into feathers as she struggled to hold on. Flames glowed from her mouth, the light building from where the energy built up in the back of her throat. At the last moment, when she was about to exhale a large blast of red flames her grip flatered and she fell. With no other choice she sent the energy flying in ball launched towards Tibarn, then opened a gate several feet from the ground. When the exit portal opened she had not lost much momentum and tumbled with a hard resounding 'oof'. Rolling she forced herself clumsily to her feet. Being a cheetah type creature, on her feet she was quick and nimble. If her legs are knocked from under her she was slow to regain her feet, leaving her vulnerable. And that this moment, weakness was not something she was going to show him.

Tibarn screeched and rolled in the air to avoid the fire, but but it clipped his wingtip. He dropped several feet before he was able to regain altitude. He circled high above buying time for himself to come up with a strategy. This woman was dangerous, he wasn't sure he could beat her... close range attacks could easily backfire, and he wasn't very good at fighting from a distance. He descended a few yards and circled, suddenly he had an idea. Screeching a battle cry and shot downwards again in a repeat of his first attack. Talons flexed to grab her.

Kuma could only watch with dread. He know his mom well enough to know she wasn't going to make ti easy for him. "He has to be gutsy or crazy...."
Mari-mac leaned on him and shivered seeing Fuega fight for the first time, "She's scary......."
She had finally gotten to her feet fully when a weight pushed her down. Snarling she struggled with all she could but found she couldn't regain her footing. Snarling she worked to get to her side, It was her only hope to send a blast at him. Her chest heaved as she thrashed but his talons held her fast.

Tibarn screeched and tighten his hold, no way was he gonna let her shoot any fire at him. She could still knock him off balance if she pushed with enough strength, but he hoped his weight and the strength of his talons would keep her down.

"What's...happening?" Mari-Mac looked up at Kuma. His face was set in a grim stare as he watched the events unfold infront of him. "It's over...." he mummered. She gasped for breath beneath his weight and knew she had been bested. She couldn't turn to release any of her flames. And using the infernal gate would only bring him with her. She had been ground and was unable to regain her footing. Her tense body slowly relaxed and her head lowered, black ears drooping under their own weight, "I submit." she gasped, her voice hallow and void of any emotion, "You have bested me."From the den Bryson and Hoshi both stared in wide eyed wonder. Neither of them knew exactly what had happened, but from the looks of things it was important. Blaze growled and huffed a few puffs of fire as a warning to the large hawk, though compared to Fuega's they were no where near impressive.

Tibarn stepped lightly away and bowed his head to her in a gesture of respect. The green veil of light surrounded him once more and he returned to his humanoid form " That was well fought, any longer and you surely would have beaten me." he said folding his wings behind his back. He looked around at the others in the clearing. He nodded respectfully at the others.
Fenrir shot out of the den and stood at Fuega's side, growling. Certainly this man had cheated somehow, no one could beat Fuega!

Mari-mac rushed over to the females side and inspected her, "Are you ok?"
Getting her front lets back under her she pushed up and drew her rear legs up to her. "Well fought. You are much stronger than I had expected." She was still breathing hard but showed no sign of pain, even tough her bare shoulder was tinged with red. "Easy child." she whispered to Fenrir, "I brought this on my self." With a gently nuzzle she kissed the younger zune's head then looked back to Tibarn. "You have earned my respect, lord of the hawks. I will entrust you with the safety of my great grand daughter. But be mindful. If anything...." her eyes darkened, "happens to her, I'll hunt you down and feast on your heart." With that she got to her feet and limped slightly to the mouth of the cave.
Kuma walked up and watched his mother go. Once she had settled herself by the caves mouth he turned back to Tibarn and bowed his head, "I'm sorry for this. She's....... difficult to get along with at times. I am Kuma Flameheart. Son of Fuega and Kutai."
The other family member huddled near the matriarch inspecting her for wounds and exchanging glance to the male. "Is... MM leaving us?" Hoshi whispered. "Good. One less girl to worry with." Bryson snorted, "Though I will miss talking her from time to time." "Do you always have to complain about that?" Blaze inquired then turned to Feuga, "Are you hurting any where, Geegee?"
"Yes Hoshi, She's wanting to travel and see the world. I won't hold her back. And this man has proven to be capable of handling a fight." Seh shot Bryson a look before answering Blaze, "I am fine my little fire star. I don't feel pain very often. Only the most grievous wounds do I ever feel." Small spots of blood pooled beneath the rips in her black shirt where talons had grabbed her. "I'll be fine."

Tibarn could not help but admire the woman. Tibarn nodded "i swear on my honor as a hawk and a king that no harm shall befall her on my watch" he said watching her walked away then turned his attention to Kuma " not at all, her path is one of strength, as is mine. I admire that." he said and bowed slightly " i am honored to meet you Kuma, i am Tibarn."
suddenly Tama shot out of the woods and collided with Tibarn side, screeching a war cry. Tiban fell to the ground landing with a very stunned and confused expression but tensed to attack. Tama stood over him and giggled looking extremely pleased with herself " Ninja! i caught a ninja!!"
Tibarn quickly realized this woman was not a threat and relaxed. He looked around at the others with a perplexed expression " uh...ninja? Would someone care to explain what just happened?" he asked as he got to his feet and dusted off his clothing
