Brenden chuckled. "Yeah...awhile for sure."
Alyx sat up a bit and looked over at Brenden. And that whole time i've liked you...but never had the curage to say it... He blushed as Brenden met his eyes.

"It feels like forever sometimes..." Maria smiled, snuggling down into the warmth of the sleeping bag.

"Sure does..." Brenden looked back over at Alyx to see that his face was a bright red. "You ok Alyx?"
Alyx turned away and lay back down. "I'll be fine..." He placed a hand over his pounding heart and willed it to slow. He likes Maria...not me..

Maria closed her eyes. "I think I'm actually gonna fall asleep." She laughed softly. With the boys so close, she actually felt safe. At least, more than she had felt earlier in the day. "No creepy noises please..." She murmured.

"We won't Maria, get some rest..."
"Hey Brenden?"
"Yeah Alyx?"
"Can I come sleep next to you?"
"Umm...I guess so..."
Alyx picked up his stuff and moved over next to Brenden. "Thanks."
"Umm...you're welcome?" Alyx crawled into his sleeping bag and feel asleep.

Brenden looked over at Alyx and shook his head. "Guess I'm keeping watch tonight..." He pulled a Colt .45 from his waistband and leaned against the wall.

Maria slowly woke up from her sleep. She knew it was still late, no way it was morning yet. What woke me up? She could here a shuffling sound of sorts, just beyond the large locked doors. Her blood frozen in her veins. Was it that thing that had killed Peter looking for a way in? No..... It's probably nothing... She shook her head and laid back down, but her eyes would not shut. "Brenden? Alyx?" She whispered. "Are you still awake?"

She sat up, looking over at Brenden. "Do you hear that? I'm not hearing things, right? Tell me you hear it too...." She whispered

Brenden nodded. "yeah, I heard it too..." He stood and kicked Alyx. "get up Alyx.
A curse came from the sleeping bag. "Do you know what time it is?" he heard a bang on the locked doors and was up and hiding behind Brenden in a matter of seconds. "What was that?"
"The thing that killed our host i suppose."
"Peter?"
"Yeah..from now on, we stick together, not that we weren't before, but as of right now, we don't leave each others sights." Another bang was followed by a heartbreaking cry for help.

Maria was on her feet in a heartbeat. "It can't get in here, right?" She moved towards the boys, reaching out with a shaking hand. "Peter said we were safe..."

Brenden took her hand without thinking and pulled her close. "I don't know to be honest...I believe Peter, but right now I'm not so sure." Another cry came through the door, followed by a bang that shook the door and making it strain against the steel bolts. "Let's move back..."
Peter came through the door and floated before the trio. "Best you three go to the back of the ballroom, there is a smaller room that you can sleep in, be asured that this room is safe, so no worries."
Alyx scoffed. "I'm gonna need a change of pants after what I just heard..."

Maria looked up at the ghost, her eyes wide. "You promise?" She squeaked, moving closer to Brended without thinking. "That thing sounds pretty determined...."

"I promise. No harm will befall you while you are in here." Peter bowed his head and vanished.
Brenden looked down at Maria to see that she was pressed against his side. He put his arm around her shoulder and gave her a hug. "You gonna be ok Maria?"
Alyx looked over at Brenden and blushed. I have no chance now....
