Shay's nails traced her cheeks and around the back of her head, Kiara broke out in goosebumps.
Woah, that hadn't happened from a simple touch in a long, long time. Actually, she couldn't remember the last time that had happened with Dylan.
The entire twenty five minutes of driving was driving Kiara up a wall. She wasn't shaking like someone going through withdrawl, but she was damn close!
"Are we there yet?"
She continuously questioned Shay.
"Seriously, we have to be close right?"
Not being able to see was driving her over the edge. Constantly, she played with the edges of her shirt and kept touching things.
She had to at least attempt to distract herself!
Finally, the car stopped.
She relaxed just the tiniest bit and then Shay made a comment about how long it had been since she had driven.
Kiara went to rip her blindfold off but Shay warned against it.
"FOUR YEARS? AND YOU WERE DRIVING MY CAR?!" Shaking her head Kiara continued, "You didn't mention that important bit of--"
Shay opened her door, cutting her off.
Kiara grunted, got out of the car and was led down some stairs. Eventually, she gave her permission to remove the blindfold.
With a long exhale, she took it off and slowly opened her eyes.
Limited light, a few shops, music... A mall?
But it didn't look like a mall. Nobody was running around, no kids screaming, no perfume ladies climbing up your a** to sell you the latest and greatest.
This was... odd.
"What is this place?" It was actually kind of...
Beautiful.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄So I walk with shadows▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Of course, Shay gave nothing away about their location, or where they were going despite Kiara's ranting. She replied with many sarcastic comments, and obviously made up s**t about the things they were passing.
And then of course, there was the blow up when they were getting out... Heh... Shay hadn't been exaggerating either.
"Well, if I had, you probably wouldn't have let me drive just now, now would you? And where's the fun in that?"
Ah, and Shay wasn't to be disappointed when Kiara finally saw the place she had taken her too.
"It's a mall, duh. Didn't you say you wanted to go to a mall? It doesn't look like we can shop here though... Hmmm..." Shay was totally being a smart a** now.
"We might have to get food outside and come back. Yes. Looks like it. But first a tour?" Because obviously Shay knew this place, despite her smart a** obvious observations about the mall.
"Or do you want to get food, come back, eat, and then tour?"
Either way worked for her.
"If your starving, we might want to eat first..."
Now that she thought about it, this place could be quite interesting to first-timers, which took up time.

Kiara rolled her eyes. She wasn't one to be completely oblivious one hundred percent of the time to sarcasm. No, they obviously couldn't shop or eat here.
"Oh, I can wait..." She replied, her stomach grumbling behind her voice. "Or maybe not so much. Mind if we grab a quick bite?" She giggled softly, still glancing around the place.
It had a very... calm atmosphere. She really liked it.
"Why is it still up and running, anyways? Who comes here? What do they use it for?" Twenty questions much?
"And what's nearby to eat?" This time she full-out laughed at herself, her stomach was loud. Crying took a lot of energy and burned off a lot of the food she had already eaten that day, which wasn't much.
Kiara grabbed Shay's hand, pulling her towards the stairs. When their fingers touched her stomach got all weird, but she dismissed it to being hungry.
"Hurryyyy, I wanna come back." She turned to smile back at Shay.

"Food it is." Shay said, though neither moved to leave immediately.
Before they went anywhere, Kiara was asking questions about the mall, none of which Shay intended to answer... not yet anyway.
"Now now, wait your turn. All questions will be answered in due time." Shay teased.
Kiara didn't argue, grabbing Shay's hand to pull her back toward the stairs.
Without really thinking about it, as they went up, Shay certainly wasn't going to be the first to let go as they went up hand in hand.
"We can grab some fast food over here and go back there to eat it, this way" she said before pulling Kiara in that direction.
Nearby there was a burger joint, Japanese food, McDonalds, and a Wendy's within sight.
"Now go ahead and take your pick, as I already provided a surprise."

Kiara released Shay's hand as they entered the sunlight again. She couldn't help it. Suddenly, she really felt her hand in hers... and for some reason she felt like she was sweating and didn't want her to feel a sweaty hand and...
"Wendy's?! I haven't had that place in forever." She giggled. "Wendy's it is." They walked over to the place, ordered their food and then returned to the mall.
Of course, Kiara was frustrated that Shay wouldn't answer her questions right then and there, but she wasn't going to throw a temper tantrum over it. She found herself wanting to impress Shay... and she kept checking herself.
"This frosty is the most amazing thing ever." Yeah, she ate her dessert first...
What if it melt...

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄So I walk with shadows▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ "Wendy's it is." Shay echoed in agreement as they made their way over.
Fortunately this particular Wendy's was not very crowded, so they were able to pretty much just get in, and get out with their food.
Within 10 minutes they were back at the stairs, eating frosties and each holding a bag with their real food.
"I would have to agree with you there." Shay said, also eating her dessert first.
Seriously, Wendy's had to know people ate the frosties first.
Once they were down the stairs, Shay continued on about half way down the corridor before turning and moving into a much bigger area.
Before them, in the center of the mall, was a place with tables, and comfy chairs. Shay plopped down onto one of the comfy chairs.
From the corner of her eye, Shay spotted someone walking through the corridor, a guy that hardly gave them a second glance, as he went by the opening. Shay knew he wasn't here to stay, just passing through.

Kiara sat beside Shay in the area with couches and chairs. She kept looking around at everything, still dazed and confused.
She caught sight of a man walking into the place, not giving them a glance. "Who's that?" She shook her head. "I mean, why's he here? What's really here anyways?"
Kiara finished off her frosty, much too quickly and opened up her bag to begin eating her actual food.
She was most definitely going to want another frosty too... always did.
Yeah, Dylan always picked on her for that.
No Dylan.
Present.
Dylan wasn't here.
"So, tell me about this place. Please? I'm dying for details."

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄So I walk with shadows▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Shay laughed at Kiara's curiosity, which had been so much like her own when she had first come across it.
She told the girl as much.
"So was I when my friends took me here for the first time almost to years ago. It's a mall. And for some strange reason, which I've never gotten the details on- it's closed on weekends, and occasionally Mondays, like today. One Monday a month, plus holidays."
Once Shay finally sated a little curiosity with the above details, she went about eating her food. Truth be told, she had been starving herself this entire time. She had seriously worked up an appetite working on the freeway earlier.
"People still walk through when it's closed like this, like that guy, just part of the routine. Not many come to stay and chat like us, but sometimes some teens will venture in and make a hang out of it. Like my friends and I used to. Still do every now and then."
The tour was to be the best part though, for Shay was still holding back.

Kiara nodded as she popped fries into her mouth. Closed on Monday? Weird. But alright.
Sometimes people hung out here.

"So, what makes this place so special then?"
She understood that it was part of some people's routine to walk through here and that it was pretty and different, but what made it oh-so-very special? What was the real reason behind Shay bringing her here of all places?
"Since its basically abandoned, what're you gonna do kill me here and leave my body to rot under a couch?" She laughed, bobbing her leg up and down as it was crossed over her knee.

But regardless. She didn't think Kiara would be disappointed.
Shay didn't answer right away as she finished her food. She was crumpling her wrapper and stuffing it in her bag at the last part though.
"No fun. You figured me out too quickly. Well now, since you know what's coming after all, we might as well get on with it. And don't try to run, as you should know by now I'd catch you long before you even reached the stairs." Shay sounded way too serious, yet nonchalant, as she said this, while standing up and crossing over to Kiara, complete with a devilish smile.
Shay could make a great serial-killer in a movie.
"I have a much better place for your body than under a couch however. I don't know where you got such a silly notion yourself. Place like this, no one would ever find you... till it was far too late."
Yeah. Shay was having way too much fun with this.

"You're goofy." She finished off her food just as Shay came over to her. She glanced up, catching nothing but boob at first, but looked past that, not so easily, and raised an eyebrow,
"Ohhh, really. Where might that be? I have the right to know, afterall."

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄So I walk with shadows▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Shay had come right up in front of Kiara where she had nowhere to move to, but then suddenly stepped aside.
"After you" she said, putting a hand out to help the girl up. After she pulled her up, Shay gestured for her to walk on, when a devilish thought to match that smile from earlier hit her.
She was totally up for going on with it.
Right when her hand loosened on Kiara's after helping her up, as if she were about to let go, she tightened it, not letting go at all.
"You should stay close, so I don't think your trying to slip away, no escaping your fate."
Ha.. ha... ha... it wasn't like Shay was trying to come up with an excuse to hold Kiara's hand or anything... ha...
"Now you will get the grand tour of the last place you will ever see. And be assured, we will come across your tomb on the way. All things in due time love." the use of the last term, was of course like saying "dear" or "hon." It was intended to add on to her adopted persona of sadistic, yet seductive, serial-killer.
Shay tossed her trash into a bin as they walked on, headed to a corridor that led to some stairs that led up, but they were not like the ones they had come down in and clearly did not lead to outside.

Kiara allowed Shay to take her hand as she led her forward, after tossing their things in a nearby trashcan. Stay close so she couldn't escape? Of course, they were playing off the murderer role here, but Kiara wasn't even near thinking about running off.
Maybe if Shay had actually been a crazed killer, she would try to escape. However, there wasn't any other place that Kiara could think of that she would rather be.
Her tomb would come along the way? Oh joy. She stifled her laughter, allowing Shay to push her along. Her mind stuck on her referring to her as love. Of course, it meant nothing. But she couldn't help but be stuck on it for a minute or two, a small smile curling her lips at the thought.
They walked down another corridor, heading towards God knows where, Kiara felt little butterflies in her stomach as questions began to cloud her mind. This time, however, she remained silent.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄So I walk with shadows▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ When they reached the bottom of the stairs they were about to ascend, footsteps could be heard walking down the corridor toward the stairs from a different direction than they had come from.
Right as they started to go up, a security guard, only of the footsteps, came into view.
He glanced at them, but that was it.
Well, since Shay was playing the role of crazy serial-killer, and Kiara her victim, she couldn't just ignore the security guard, right?
So instead of just holding her hand for the remainder of the way up, Shay moved closed the slight distance between them, causing their bodies to touch as they walked up, and she nonchalantly leaned in but a half inch from Kiara's ear to whisper, "Not a word, or misstep from you now."
Of course, if this wasn't just an act form both of them, Kiara should know that she could save herself by calling out anyway, since there wasn't much Shay could do. But whatever.
"I know where you live." Shay had to add in for effect.
Now, Shay did not know where Kiara lived, but if she was a psycho stalker serial-killer, she probably would, now wouldn't she?
It had been quite colorful going up the stairs, for while they themselves were stone and stone colored- the walls on each side were different colors, and bright, as was the slanted ceiling above them. However, once they reached the top, the room they came into had very dim lighting, even more so than the mall below, which had had half-lighting.
Strangely enough, it almost looked like a well-furnished office up here, for the most part anyway. There was a desk and cabinets and such, but off to one side was what almost looked like a plain throne, though Shay knew it was really a shoe shining station, which was weird enough in and of itself.
It was only once they were in the middle of this room that Shay gave Kiara a little space, though she didn't let go.
"Not quite what you would expect to find above a mall, eh? Especially with direct access."
Though it looked somewhat like an office, there were also black, plushy chairs, which detracted from the office look, throughout the room.
There was also an exit that seemed to go off into some kind of parking garage, but there was things blocking the exit, or entrance as it may be, looking like one would have to pay to get in that way. Shay had never found out was up with that.

Kiara had been admiring the walls colors and hardly listening to Shay go on about her serial killer business. That is, until Shay mentioned knowing where she lived.
Kiara had to raise an eyebrow to that one.
"Been stalking me, eh?" She laughed lightly. "Then you must know what a castle I live in. You must also know about the guards, too. They're probably looking for me as we speak, ya know. They're pretty good about keeping the princess in check." Smirking, she continued with a concerned expression.
"s**t, guess you weren't supposed to know of my royalty... I've been told to keep it on the DL."
They entered an office-like room. It was very low lighting with black chairs. Then she noticed the throne-like chair.
"Fit for a princess like myself, no?" A small giggle, then her face became serious.
"Promise me something Shay?" Her free hand touched Shay's bicep. "Promise you won't tell anyone my secret?" She winked.
