She paused, and turned towards him.
"Then listen, ok, in your state right now if you were to find this dangerous man, you'd be no match for him." she strode over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "if you go and find him, what are you ginna do?" she was worried.

She paused and pulled something out of her purse. She took a bite and smiled.
"well then, let's get a move on." shesaid "lead the way, sleepy head."

She went to his side and knelt down.
"Hey, are you ok?" She asked gently, touching his forehead. She frowned. "You have a fever, were you bitten?" She asked curiously, checking for blood.

There was a small moment when things seemed to get heated, but cooled off quickly enough. The two moved just out of sight before Falene turned and moved onward, back toward the encampment with her bucket of water. Once she was out of the trees, the sun was shining brightly, and then grew a small hope that the warmth of the sun would burn off some of the water that clung to the fibers of her clothes before she got back to the barn. She wouldn't hold her breath for it, but still, she hoped it would.

Chaz grumbled something. He hated to admit he was wrong. "Prehaps that is a good idea. Now if you can reword that to make it sound like my idea, that would be lovely Doc." He told her, being sarcastic. It was playful sarcasem, and he didn't really mean anything by it. He turned around and started to head back towards the Scar, hoping the Doc was in tow.

Out for more water, Falene noticed she had gone farther than she normally would. She was like a small puppy, afraid of wandering too far from home. Once. Now she had a growing confidence. Explore the wild, go hungry. Your father showed you a wild growing carrot to eat. You won't die. Not of starvation anyway. You know how to start a fire, boil water, pick several edible plants... You can do this. She wandered farther and farther away from the encampment, the sun sagging low in the sky. The sun.. is.. low..? A sudden sharp pain of fear began thrumming in her chest. Dark. She'd never stayed out all night from Scar. Not since before she was one of them. Would she make it? Then she had to revert back to her previous thoughts. Of survival. Of getting by on the small lessons her father taught her. She licked her dry lips, thinking about the water in her canteen and how she would savor it. Her eyes glanced around for any walkers. There were none. There were usually very few this far from the city. She still didn't fancy the idea of sleeping on the ground, so vulnerable. Along the banks of the river, she began plucking several small twigs, dry, dead grasses, and a small pile of bigger wood. She began with the dry grass and small twigs readily on hand. She took up her machete and her flint and magnesium and began going to work, shaving bits of magnesium off into a pile on the back of a piece of bark. She didn't plan on camping on the ground tonight, but she was hopefully going to boil some water and find something to throw in the extra water to make a very, very, very poor stew.

It was too late. Falene had heard the thump of him hitting the ground. She stood up, broadening her shoulders as she had seen in films of famous heroines, so strong. Her machete was in her hand, "Vivant ou mort?" [Alive or dead?] The fire behind her, which had barely taken, smoldered and sub-consciously she could hear her efforts being carried away on the breeze. It made her wonder if asking this futile question was worth it. She tried for English this time, she was still in the States, even if most of everyone here was dead or incoherent, "Living or died?" Her voice trembled a little this time, but she tried so hard to keep it steady. It was probably only so obvious.

Falene heard the word 'alive' and wondered if there had been any cases of talking walkers. She doubted it, dismissing the curiosity to the fear of being out here at night, sheer panic. After a moment of deliberation she lowered her machete. They were still separated by several long yards, but she didn't want to allow herself to become too relaxed. It was her first night away from the group, after all. Anything could happen. She stepped back to the other side of the smoldering pile to keep an eye on the man. Though she didn't know his language, she hoped tone of voice and body language would be enough, "Voulez-vous vous joindre a moi?" [Would you like to join me?] She gestured with a delicate hand to a 'spot' on the other side of the sticks that was soon to be a fire. Carefully Falene went back to work on it, taking her time and carefully watching the man's every eyelash-bat. In the normal world the way she looked at him so gently might have looked bashful, but in this world, it was just cautious. She glanced back and forth from him to the fire, but he was always in her peripherals.
