Uchiha Sasuke is a very misunderstood and underestimated character. At first, not even I understood him, and I liked him for his looks. But by the Chuunin Exams I so fell into his character not his looks. He just wants acceptance. And he keeps all his anger with Itachi bottled up inside of him, so none of his other emotions are let through. So that makes him a very brooding character. He doesn't make wise decisions because of all that bottled up anger and hatred. sad

I guess I should warn you, this answer may contain spoilers for some of you out there who NEED TO READ ALL THE MANGA BECAUSE IT ROCKS!!! ^^ So, if you are really picky about that kind of thing, don't read this post.
He is a human, forced to make a decision of whether his friends or the power to achieve his life's dream, to kill his brother, is more important to him. He tries his hardest, but it is always never enough. People misunderstand him because of the decisions he has made in his life... even though, to me, they were the correct decisions; leaving his friends to become powerful by the teachings of Orochimaru does not only help him come closer to the goal of killing Itachi, but it makes him better able to protect his friends when they need him. I have absolute trust that he will come through for Naruto and Sakura when they need him.
Sasuke is quite... hurt. He doesn't want to be a burden to anyone, so keeps his emotions bottled up, and lets them sometimes take ahold of him by being kind of jerk-ish to his friends; but it is his way of disconnecting from them, much as a teenager will push away their parents as they become older. He has experienced that sometimes the only person that will stick up for you is you yourself, and no one else. He knows that someday his friends won't be able to be around to help him. It is sad that he grew up with such a truth... Sasuke like all humans wants to have friends and be loved, but the power to protect them, himself, and to kill his brother is a first priority.
I like Sasuke because of who he is. His dogged determination and self-sacrificial-ness (for power) are signs that he is a very good person, and logical; I feel sorry for him, and open my heart to him. Go Sasuke!!

Sasuke is a bishie. =D Bishies are cool and powerful. Not as powerful as the main character though...=D Sasuke is super dynamic, don't you think? You know, personality wise. I think he's a powerful ninja. That's one of the reasons why I think he's so cool. =)
