Loz listened intently to her words. He understood and sympathised with her on meeting many in combat. But that wasn't something he planned on getting into in a place like this. It was far to lovely to recall those memories.
He was quite content with her reply, and so enjoyed the few moments of quite where he just stood looking at her. She was serenity the most interesting thing in that place.
As to her next question he smiled turned into a grin. "Why dear lady, I entered through the door." he said with a slight jest pointing towards the door into the cafe. "It's an inter dimensional doorway, allowing one to pass from their realm into this one. Though, I do believe this is what one would call an open world, or in between place. People of all kinds can come here as a way to escape or use as a sanctuary."
Loz looked around the area once again, the sun was sending out it's last rays of light before it sank over the hill. The hostess was starting to light the lamps on the walls and placing firefly's in jars to light the tables. Loz smiled again shaking his head lightly at the strange yet, enjoyable way the hostess ran her cafe.
"One day I opened a portal wanting a place to come an rest, I found myself here. I have returned a few times since then, though this is one of the first times I have met so many others here." He said, gently brushing hair off his neck and then resting his arm by his said.
"What about you? how and why did you come here?"

Shillan had to smile at his joke; when was the last time anyone in the army dared joke around? But she listened and looked, and recorded that there she could return here, without another's aid.
The elf watched with a soft expression that was neither smile nor frown as the hostess lit the cafe as the sun began its decent. For a moment she stared off into the distance, wondering if this sun was the same as the one she saw every morning from the poolside training arena.
When Loz returned her question, Shillan looked away, watching the darkness fall over strange sanctuary. "So Lady Callias dons her mask of shadows, and hides in the dark-land meadows," she murmured, bringing a teapot towards her telekinetically and refilling her cup. She took a long sip before finally saying:
"My Queen Andromeda sent me here. I have been released from the Dragon King's rule, and will be sent to another place in another time. She...said this detour was a way of expression her personal gratitude for my service."
She said all this calmly, as plainly as she could. "Thus my introduction was a little inaccurate. Officially speaking, as of the present moment, I have no master." Shillan nodded then, and drained the rest of her tea before refilling it. Silently, she wondered if the ice demon would question this further; she knew very well that what she had just said would invite further probing, but she could not bring herself to avoid the questions by lying to one who had thus far been honest with her, especially since she had no orders on the matter.

Loz tilted his head every so slightly as he listened to Shillan's story, though brief and slightly vague her could tell she was only give the outline of what happened. He found it most interesting, on seeing her use of 'skills' to summon a drink he realised how inconvenient it was to stand like this and talk, when there were tables and seats around.
"If you please..." she said kindly indicating the seat at a near by table, Loz walked slowly pasted the elven warrior towards the table, turning as he pasted quite close to her. "I am interested to hear more, if you care to seat with me."
He sat himself down in one of the chairs crossing one leg over the other and resting an elbow on the back of the chair. He whispered the type of tea he liked and pored it out.
As he sat he became much more aware of the girls on one of the other tables and how one was most defiantly starring him out. Though he still paid no attention to her.
"So, it sounds like you have quite an eventful life. You followed a King whom was not your own, all under a Queen whom you do not quite serve. Is that right?" Loz found this to be a highly interesting topic, leading away from himself and into things he was far more interested in. He couldn't help but have a smile on his face.

Shillan had to smile as he noted the abundance of seating in the garden and took a seat across the table from Loz. The teapot refilled her cup neatly before setting itself next to the other pot.
She answered his question after a moment of thought. It did not quite bother her to reveal so much about about herself; rather, she never had the opportunity or need to before. "Not quite." but as she reviewed his question she realized another aspect that might have confused her friend. After all, they did come from different planets, assumedly. "Queen Andromeda is the draconic queen," she explained. "I served in the army as a common soldier until Queen Andromeda took a liking to me and sent me on little quests of her own. The King took note of this and began giving me individual, more specialized missions as well.
"Until recently I've had no dealings with Queen Geneva of the Elves. Indeed though, it was Queen Geneva's idea that I be released from the Dragon King's service to pursue this next mission." Shillan mirrored Loz's smile, consciously realizing that her life was fairly complicated; it just never felt that way before.

Loz leaned in a bit moving his arm from behind the chair and rested his other hand on the edge of the table and placing his fingers around his chin, as he folded the other over his waist.
He listened intensely to her, he didn't really know of the people she talked about, but that made it all the better. He wasn't looking for information to use agenst her or anyone else. He was just happy to see a women like Shillan talking for what he guessed, have been one of very few times she could be so open, and in a way 'free' to talk.
"Sounds like you have great admiration for this Queen Andromeda," he said warmly a light smile on his lips. When she moved onto talking about the Queen of the Elves, Geneva, he then recognised a name. He wasn't sure where from, but he did know of her.
"Until recently?" he raised his eyes slightly. But didn't go further with the question, Shillan sounded like she was happy and he didn't want to push her further. He would be happier for her to talk of what she wanted to.

Shillan didn't mind talking about herself; it was odd certainly, for around others she was usually relatively recluse, but Loz seemed interested, and she figured that this "self-disclosure" aspect was fine every so often.
"I suppose I do admire her," the elf agreed. "She was always very energetic and kind, even to subjects who did not quite approve of her." Shillan paused a thought flitting through her mind and she gave a half-smile. "I may only like her because she elevated me to my--well--former position.
She noticed that he recognized Geneva's name but not Andromeda's and found that understandable: one was a ruling monarch while the other was simply Queen in name; essentially a queen consort to the public eye.
"Until recently yes," she explained further: "Rifts were forming between dimensions and realms and connecting worlds that ought not to be connecting and for the sake of both their species Queen Geneva forged a peace between the age- old dragon-elf conflict to concentrate on the rift crisis." Another wry smile formed. "Apparently the two queens were childhood friends so it was slightly easier than most generations." She set her teacup down and laid one hand around the back of her neck and leaning the elbow against the table and turned curiously to her companion. "As a matter of interest, did rifts form on your planet as well?"
((I am so glad I already had some of the events that she's mentioning already created in my mind; this would be impossible if I were making it up on the spot >.<))

"Ah, I see." he said with a smile as she replied to his analysis of her admiring the Dragon-Queen.
As Shillan moved on to talks of Rifts between the dimensions of the Dragon and Elf realms, Loz's face put on a slight frown, which stayed untill she asked him about rifts in his realm (planet)
He took a deep breath in and folded both arm in front of him leaning on the table. He glanced round just making sure others were not listening. He did not wish other to hear his words, or her's for that matter.
"Yes, these rifts you talk about have been known to us or a great many years. At first they were small and we used them as a way to travel. They were stable rifts, like doorways. But..." Loz's words where once again firm and serious. "Recently, more have been forming, some have been forming with worlds we already know about and have relationships with, though there have been many, small but none the less destructive, that have formed with other worlds. Sadly. Other worlds have seen them as forms off attach, many Ice demon clans have been attached. At present ALL, us Ice demons have joined together. It has taken almost my lifetime to form these alliances. No one other then the Lords of my people, and other leaders of other worlds know how bad these are becoming.
I warn you this, if you are just joining with one world at this time, be prepared it could spread, like it has done to ours."
Under normal conditions Loz would never have said anything like this, but to hear that rifts were affecting Shillan's worlds, he felt that she must be warned of the possible dangers.
((I know the feeling, I had Loz's background planned out sometime ago so filling the gaps is a bit easier.))

Tianna had been watching the Ice Demon this whole time, as he sat a few tables away her eyes looked over pasted Yukari's sholder to the back of his head. 'I have seen him, he name was not Loz though... Blue flower... What was your name.' Tianna's eyes widened as it suddenly came to her who he was, he was one of the warriors that had come to 'Attach' her people.
Yukari had just finished the last of her cake, and placed the fork on the plate. She looked up to see Tianna's eye widen."Tia, you okay?..." She followed her friend gace to the Grey blue hair of the Ice demon behind her. And looked back at Tianna"Do you know him?"

Shillan's eyes darkened with concentration and concern for the people of her past when Loz explained what had happened to his planet in with the creation of the rifts. She remained quiet for a long time after he had finished, contemplating, and said in turn:
"I will not be returning there, but I will keep the knowledge you have shared in mind, should the rifts ever open in the time and planet I am going to. Thank you," she said sincerely, though quietly, dropping her voice to match his in volume.
"I know not whether it will help you, given the state they are in already, but a few people of my world had an ability to directly touch and control parts of our worlds' core element. The fragments of the core was separated into what we called Hearts, but by gathering the hearts and touching them to the rifts we were able to seal a few without harming our world, and hopefully without hurting the others."
She felt a spark of empathy between them; their positions in this rift-war were slightly different, but the elf could feel the concern that she shared. This was not a problem confined to a species or even a world.

Loz listened to her words, one again placing a hand on his chin as his mind started to think and ponder about things.
"I see... that is not an abilitiy that i know about sadly. But then again... some of the other worlds might be able to adapt it. Thank you." He smiled very softly in thanks to her for the information. Loz was unsure of the use, but it was more then his people had at that time.
"I hope then, that the world you go to next will not have this happen." Loz had grown fond of Shillan, and hoped that no harm would come to her on her journey, as he wished to meet her again.
In the moments of silence that followed, one of the gems on Loz's gloves started to glow a pale blue. He looked down at the hand on the table to the glowing. "Hummm... I wonder who wants me." he said softly.

"I hope so too, but I will be wary nonetheless," Shillan said with a dip of her head in thanks. A moment of later: "Thank you for your concern, Loz."
She fingered the handle of the teapot before pouring some and refilling Loz's with the other teapot that he had specified the drink for, enjoying the comfortable silence. It had been quite a while since she had been able to simply relax, and the first time, she noticed, that she had no prmary objective to be thinking in terms of.
She glanced down at the gems on his gloves the moment they lit up, only somewhat surprised. She had sensed power in them, but the light was unprecedented and worth paying attention to. "It...is some sort of communication device?" She asked, interest in her voice. "A..ah...pager? Is that the word?"

Loz smiled warmly at her comment about his concern for her, and tilted his head as she pored his tea for him. sighing as he watched the light glow brighter and then dim again, he nodded to her observation. "Yes, it's a communicater. It allows my people to contact me." He smile with a light laugh at her ocmment about a pager. "That I do not know." He said with a bright face as he looked up at her.
"Sorry about this." He said raising his hand to his face so that his wrist as at his mouth and palm by his ear. He tapped a silver earing on his ear which opened a communcation to tha other person.
A slight whispering could be heard to others that might have close to him, but Loz heard the man's voice at the other end. His's face remaind blank as he listened to what they were saying, though in his eyes the shine faided with each passing moment. The news was not good, In is peoples own tounge Loz spock back. "Understood. I have information though that might help." He then relayed the information which Shillan had told him. Once he hand finished he nodded and lowered his hand back to the table. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, only to open them again and look into his cup, and the steam that was coming from it.

Tianna watched the man intensely, she know him... "He is one of the men that destroyed a village with some sort of dimensional weapon, many people were killed. He and two others came to talk with our Lord saying it was not an attach." She talked quietly to her friend leaning in a bit.
Yukari mimicked her friend and lead inward to listen."After a day or more our Lord and his officals agreed with his terms... but... I don't believe it for a moment." Sadly for Tianna she had friends and family in the very village that was destroyed, like other families that had lost dear friends and family, none of them were convinced it had been accidental.
They wanted revenge for what had happened but at the same time would not go agents their Lord. Right now Tianna wanted revenge for the blood that was shed, here in that dimensional her Lord had no say...
Yukari looked round again at the man at her back, to her he seamed like a nice person. She couldn't scene any darkness in him, well... nothing that would point to him being a murderer. Then suddenly Tianna stood up, her eyes were alight. As she stood her hood fell down and her long white hair tumbled down her back and around her face, her violet eyes burned with revenge. "Tia!..."Yukari looked up at her friend, seeing her friends eyes she stood up and grabbed Tianna's arm "Tia, this not the time nor the place."Yukari's voice was hard and unwavering, she gripped Tianna's arm hard.
Tianna flashed her eyes at Yukari and they held each others gaze for a time. Tianna want to fight, and Yukari would not let go even if her life was at stake.

Shillan listened quietly to the intricacies of the foreign, simply watching the strange device and occasionally glancing up to watch his expression change. Evidently she did not know the exact dialogue of their conversation, but between her observations and her psychic abilities, she guessed, "The rifts are causing trouble? Do you need to go back?"
She wondered briefly how many worlds this garden connected, and where in time and space it stood. If I am to go directly to Ashrieka from here, then it must be able to connect across worlds and time. Yet Loz's call indicates that time continues in the other worlds as usual. Perhaps this is...
A flash of anger and violence so contrary to the serenity of the cafe stirred the mental atmosphere and Shillan turned the slightest, so she could watch the two other girls from the corner of her eye if needed. One ear trained itself firmly but uncritically on their conversation but she otherwise gave her attention to the troubled ice demon before her.

Loz was to distracted by what he ha heard and watching the steam rise from his cup to notice he commotion happen on the table not far from behind him.
Though he heard every word Shillan said to him. Loz just shook his head to her comment about needing to go back, there was nothing to gain from that.
"I was just told that a few more happened opened, but these were smaller but closer to my families home. Which means they are spreading further across my Lands." He sighed, though he worried for his people this had been happening for sometime and he was more worried about what might happen where ever Shillan was going, he didn't like the thought that he wouldn't be able to help her. Not that he thought she couldn't look after herself. He had had more experiences with the rifts and them opening up on, not so happy a people.
He looked up at her with a concerned look on his face, he reached over the table and picked up her hand in his, whilst his other hand reached into his pocket.
Tipping her hand gently so her palm faced up he then placed his other hand over hers. "If anything happens, with this I will find you." Loz removed his hands and in Shillan's was a blue jem, like the ones on Loz's gloves.
