 Miku glanced up as Kimmi walked past him and walked down the side walk. "Bye Kimmi!!" he called to her, and blinked. He stood up and stretched, arching his back, his hands high in the air. He let out a relaxed sigh, then padded off the lawn, and back into the Orphanage. He didn't need to slip of his shoes, since he didn't like wearing shoes. He just went straight inside, and shut the door behind him. He peered at the bulletin board, smiled as he saw Kimmi's note, then continued on up the stairs and into his room. He lay down on his bed and grabbed his most recent book and began reading.

 Kimmi smiled and waved at him as she left. "Bye Miku!" she said as she continued to walk down the road, heading to town. She started to hum softly as she walked with a smile also on her face. Soon after, she also began to skip, run, and do flips and cartwheels. Kimmi continued this until she got to the park. That's when she decided to flop down on the grass to rest and possibly take a nap. She smiled in satisfaction at how much fun she'd had by just coming here. "Well, I think I'm going to take a nap," she said as she let out a soft yawn.

 Satomi ended up going back in a few minutes after she went outside. She sighed in boredom and decided to go up to her room and try to find something to do. On her way up, she passed Kimmi and waved at her while smiling a little bit. When she reached the top of the stairs, Satomi walked to her room, passing Miku's empty room and Devon's room. She waved at him and walked into her own room, then started to look around her room for something that she could do.

Miku's ears perked as he heard someone walking by, and he jumped up and crawled over to his door. He peered out his door, his neck craning the edge of the hard redwood door. His ears perked up even more as he recognized Satomi's long pinkish red hair and pretty black dress as she continued down the hall and to her room. Miku smiled, his tail wagging. He was about to go follow her, when a thought popped in his mind... 'What if I'm bothering her too much?' He frowned, remembering how he had carried her down the stairs, bugged her about what she wanted to eat for breakast, spilled the milk while filling her glass...Miku sighed miserably as he realized how much of a nuissence he must seem to her. He slowly turned and slumped ack onto his bed, his tail drooped. Instead of continuing reading, he sat up and stared out the window, enjoying watching people play in the park across the street. But he couldn't get his mind off of Satomi...

After about 15 minutes of searching her room, Satomi came up with nothing. She sighed and laid down on her floor by her bed. "Hey, this was the spot that I fell down earlier..." she said, then stopped, blushing a little. "And where Miku came up here and carried me down to the kitchen." Satomi's blush darkened a little as she began to think about Miku. Then suddenly, she sat up and asked herself, "Did I even thank him?" She thought about it for a few minutes, but couldn't remember. "I think I'll go make sure!" she said, a big smile on her face. She stood up and walked out of her room and over to Miku's room. When she got over, she knocked, then waited for an answer, swaying back and forth while she waited.

Miku's ears perked up a second before a knock came from the door. he blinked. "Come in!!" he called, sitting up from the position he was in when he was looking out the window. He sat criss-crossed, and his tail curled over so that it brushed the bottom of his feet.

As soon as Miku said come in, Satomi gently pushed the door open and walked in. She smiled at him and waved while saying, "Hi, Miku! Sorry, if I'm bothering you, but I was just wanted to thank you again for this morning." She walked over to him knelt down in front of him, smiling kindly at him.

Kimmi ended up dozing off a few minutes after deciding to take a nap. She was only asleep for a few minutes before she was shook awake by a small blond-headed boy. "Hm?" she asked while looking up at him. "Um, miss... I don't think you should sleep out here. You could catch a cold, or... or worse..." the boy said, shaking his head a little at the last part. Kimmi smiled at him and nodded as she said, "Oh, thank you. I guess I should be heading back anyways...." She waved to the little boy and started walking back to the Orphanage.

Miku smiled warmly as Satomi entered his room. "Nahh, you're never a bother!" 'But I might be to you...' Miku pushed the thought away, and continued, "And you're welcome, Sato. I'll always be there for you." His ears flattend, and his cheeks grew red, but his smile never faltered.

As soon as Miku finished talking, Satomi gave him a hug. "You're really nice Miku, you know that? You always help everyone and make everyone happy," she said, her cheeks starting to turn a light shade of pink. After she finished talking, Satomi let go and looked down at her hands, biting her lip a little, something that she sometimes did when she was nervous.

He smiled as she hugged him. Miku tipped his head to the side, oblivious to her nervousness as he mumbled, "So...Didja finish your homework?" His tail twitched, a simple thing he did unconsciously when he was nervous or uncomfortable, or even impatient. He blinked his bright and sweet blue eyes, ears perking up.

Satomi glanced up at him as he asked the question. "Oh, no, not yet... I just have a little bit of math homework left..." Satomi said, then looked at Miku's ears. She had always been fascinated by them and liked to touch them, mainly because they were so soft. Whenever she looked at his ears, Satomi would always think, I wish I had ears like that...

Miku smiled. "Well, I could help you since..." He trailed off, noticing she was looking up. He blinked, then tried to look up without moving his head, which made him cross his eyes. "My ears." He didn't say it as a question, but he gazed at Satomi as if he had said it like a question. He twitched his ears, and leaned his head forward, ears perked up. "Go ahead," he said softly, his ears just in reach so she could touch them.

Satomi looked at Miku for a second when he leaned his head forward with his ears perked up. Then she looked back up at his ears and gently grabbed them. She rubbed her fingers on his ears, smiling at how soft they were. "Thanks," Satomi said when she was done petting his ears. "They're really soft."

While Miku allowed Satomi to touch his ears, he was smiling the entire time. While she felt them, Miku felt all warm and tingly, and he shivered in delight, forcing himself not to move while she petted him. When she was finished, he sat up straight and cleared his throat, his cheeks red. "S-So...H-How'd they f-feel?" he stuttered, unable to keep his voice sturdy and strong. His tail was still.
