Cynthia-Ann worked hard to put all of the tablecloths on the wooden tables and arrange the silverware and polish the good china and glasses for the next couple of hours, wondering if Lia had gotten the mess cleaned up before Harris found out about it. He had become a real neat freak lately.
"When you're done, Cynthia, can you please make sure the bathrooms are cleaned up and the good soaps are at the sinks?" Ann called from the part of the Inn where they lived. Sounds of both sinks going and the ovens on full-blast could be heard loud and clear all the way upstairs in the farthest room. The Feast-of-Spring had become a yearly tradition apparently since Nadin was born. When he was a mere drooling infant, Ann was looking for something to do and found less people were coming to the Inn. So one day she fired up all the ovens and fed the entire town, at least those who decided to come. This feast just happened to be held in Spring so the date stuck.

Suddenly, a couple of tourists came in, babbling about some kind of a ghost up on Mother's Hill. Curious, Cynthia-Ann listened in.
"I told you, Todd. There was this book in the Library run by that girl, Mary, that said there was an unsettled spirit that haunts Mother's Hill every night at a certain time." Said one teenage boy with tons of zits and an Avenged Sevenfold t-shirt.
Todd shook his head. "No, there is no such thing as ghosts."
"Oh really!" The teenager shouted. "There was this guy I passed who said he was going up there tonight to catch some of it on tape, hopefully."
Cynthia-Ann's breath quickened with excitement. She knew just who was going up there. Before she could ask the boys anything, Ann yelled from the kitchen.
"Where is Lia, Cynthia-Ann, I need her to bake some bread for me!"
Cynthia realized she had no idea where her sister was. After she had cleaned up the mess she had gotten some clothes and was mumbling something about...GHOST HUNTING!
"I'll go get her, Mom!" Cynthia rushed for her coat, knowing it was bad timing since it was getting dark. But this was important. If there was a ghost up there, it was the ghost that Cynthia's dad had told her about when she was a baby. He said the ghost was murdered hundreds of years ago by her husband on their wedding night. Since then, it was rumored she strangled anyone waiting on the hill for her. Cynthia would have to run, even though she was aware of how silly this whole thing was.

Nadindel finished cleaning the mess, when he looked around he reaslised Lia had gone off somewhere 'must have gone inside to bake the bread' as he finished cleaning the mess he looked around and threw away the glass, cans and all the other junk away and went inside and washed his hands.

Cynthia sprinted faster than she had ever before through three farms, leaving angry farmers behind her, shaking their fists at the ruined crops she had stepped on. She was almost past Gotz's house when the woodcutter's door opened and he bellowed her name angrily. Turning around with her hands in the air, Cynthia knew he was going to say something about her trying to go out on the mountain at night. Somehow, Gotz always knew when Cynthia was going to the mountain and when she was just going to explore the mines.
"Tell me where you're going in such a rush, missy." Gotz growled dangerously.
"Lia is up on the mountain trying to see the Mother's Hill ghost." Cynthia rushed, hoping Gotz would understand and let her go soon. The sun was close to going down. Only a thread was left before total darkness.
"There is a ghost up there, missy." Gotz's face loosened and he looked so old that Cynthia could have mistook him for Barley. "But she's harmless. In fact, she's the nicest woman you'd ever hope to meet..."

Cynthia wondered what Gotz was talking about when he shook his head and popped back into glaring at Cynthia. "Lia is ghost watching?" Cynthia nodded and Gotz sighed. "Normally I would take yu back to your parents and suggest they ground you for a month but since Lia is out there..go ahead. But yell if you fall or anything." Gotz headed back into his cabin and slammed the door. Cynthia ran the ret of the way through the dark to Mother's Hill, unaware of the fact that Gotz was galloping to the Inn to tell her parents.

(sorry if this isn't much, i'm not supposed to be here)
Lia stood on mothers hill and stared at the stars until they all flickered at the same time. She gasped and looked around quickly, trying to find something wierd.

Cynthia-Ann reached Lia at the top of Mother's Hill, staring at the stars and timidly twitching her head back and forth.
"You get your butt home now, Lia!" Cynthia grabbed her little sister by the arm. "Mom needed you to bake bread an hour ago and now the whole feast is ruined because of you! I hope you're happy!" Right at that moment, out of the corner of her eye, Cynthia could swear she saw the flutter of a white skirt to her right. Turning her head, Cynthia's blood ran cold and she instinctivly put her hands over Lia's eyes. There, right in front of her eyes, stood a woman with blue hair, white skin, and a white glow around her. She wasn't entirely visable, a few parts of her face and around the rest of her body blended in with the surrounding night sky. Cynthia had been in Gotz's cottage tons of times and had seen a photo of him standing beside his wife with a baby beside them. This was the woman in the photo.

Suddenly a sound of a motocross bike ripped through the air as Erik sped up to Cynthia Ann and Lia. He stopped just before coliding into them. "What are you two doing up here?" he asked. "He turned and looked where Cynthia-Ann pointed and gasped. "...Oh my god..." A chill ran through him. He took out his camera and began to record. He inched close to the spirit. "Uh...mam? uhhh...my...my name is Erik...and uh...." the ghost turned towards Erik then seemed to levitate right through him and dissapeer into the night air. Erik stood for a moment turned around and looked at his camera then up at the girls. "Huh! forgot to take then lense cap off...heh heh..." He then fainted.

Lia stared at the empty air for a moment then fell to the ground her eyes not seeing anything, not really being able to hear anything. quietly she said"i already made the bread. it's on the counter." then she pretty much fainted.

Lia woke up shortly. She blinked rapidly then stood up. "wow."
She turned to Cynthia and repeated: "i already made the bread. i do every year the day before the feast. mom must have forgotten."
Lia then began to run down the mountain, as fast as she could. She would have to run reeeealy fast to outrun Cynthia's temper.

Cynthia stayed for a moment, staring at Erik. "YOU LEFT THE LENS CAP ON!!!!!!!!!!!!" She bellowed, her voice surprisingly strong concidering she was mere feet away from a real ghost. "I suggest you get off this mountain before Gotz finds you. He nearly ripped me apart and took me to my parents when he saw me." Cynthia quickly ran to the Inn just in time to see Ann smothering Lia in kisses and hugs and Cliff lecturing her about being out late at night. The sentence? Grounded. Cynthia watched Lia trudge to her room then told her parents what she saw on the mountain, and what Erik failed to get on tape.
"For lying, young lady, and for being out at this time of night, you are grounded as well." Ann looked disappointed while Cliff seemed smug.
"Now go to your room and think about the feast you have ruined. A fine tradition, spoiled because of you and your silly sister's ghost hunting."

Lia started to cry. "I made the bread! I did!" And it's not MY fault Erik wanted to find a ghost. "Can I at least eat the feast?" she asked, hopefully looking at Cliff.
"Yes, yes you can Lia, but that's it." He sighed.
"Cliff, could you be a little nicer, please?" Ann asked. His response was no.

Moments late Erik shuffled into the Inn...he was very pale and his pupils were small. He held the video camera in his hand with white knuckles. "I saw....What it saw...I felt what it felt..." He collapsed on the floor. The tape began to play in the camera but only the audio had been captured. "...go...got...gotz...." an errie woman's voice was just barley audible, it was an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon). Ellie and the Doctor showed up and took Erik home to rest but forgot to take his camera as well.

Cynthia-Ann sat on her bed, the fact that she had seen Gotz's dead wife almost too hard to believe. But she had seen the ghost. The rumors were true; there was a ghost on Mother's Hill. Years ago, Gotz's wife died on that mountain. Since then, Gotz has been working to keep dumb tourists and Mineral Town citizens away from there as much as possible. And Erik had caught the ghost saying Gotz's name on tape and that just couldn't be ignored. Cynthia was confident her parents were convinced now, but that didn't change the grounding.
"Just get up and do your chores then come straight back to your rooms. Your mother is out with Karen, Elli, Popuri and Mary in Golden Valley's new mall." Cliff said to his daughters when they were both eating breakfast. "I'm going to send Nadindel out to the Supermarket for more groceries and to pick up some more wine from Manna and Duke, your Mom wants to start serving it more during bar hours." Cynthia nodded and obediently scrubbed down all the tables, made all the beds upstairs, and ate a small tuna sandwich, feeling miserable.
