one time for a book report I did a Pern book. We had to do it in the form of a book cover. I spent two hours drawing a dragon for it then asked my sister for help. It took her less than half an hour to erase it all while I was in the shower. crying

She did draw another one but some parts of mine I liked better. The point was she erased the whole thing when I worked 2 hours on it and only asked for a little help with one part.

That would have caused all hell to break lose with me... Oddly enough I did something similar only with Huck Finn. I hated it...

i heart this whole series! its so good, but i think that it's so sad how when the dragon dies, the human bonded to that dragon feels empty!

I'm currently in the middle of reading Dragonflight, and I must say I quite like it. I'm almost certainly going to continue reading the series.

The DragonRiders of Pern was the first fantasy series I ever read. I was already in college and I recall being quite shocked when I realized that Greens mated with Blues and Browns and their riders were all, well... let's just say that I went to a fundamental baptist school and was very naive and narrow minded. That was 30 years ago, and luckily my universe has expanded since then. My favorite book in the series is the one that goes back to the beginning when the planet was colonized. I guess it's my love of Science Fiction showing through. I also love the one that covers the homeless problem in Pern... hmm... I'm embarrased that I can't recall the titles. I shall have to visit Amazon.com... (one moment please... talk amongst yourselves...) Ah yes, The Chronicles of Pern deals with the colonization, and The Renegades of Pern deals with their over-population problems. The Dolphins of Pern reminded me of another book I read where humans had "uplifted" chimpanzees and dolphins.

I just love all aspects to it as I like to know so much about the series, it was the first series I really came to love and it made me want to read other Fantasy author's works.

Hiitachin Kaoru I've read a lot of Anne Mccaffery's dragonriders books. I started with Dragonflight, Dragonquest, and The White Dragon and really like them. So I also read The Dragonriders of Pern, Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern, Nerilka's Story, Dragonsdawn, The Renegades of Pern, All the Weyrs of Pern, and the Harper Hall Trilolgy biggrin ragonsong, Dragonsinger, and Dragondrums. Anybody else like them? I've read the Harper Hall Trilolgy, and my mom LOVES Anne Mccaffery's books. i think i started Dragonflight; but it did'nt really.... i donno!!! i jest didnt finish 'em should i? confused confused confused confused confused confused yours heart , Lady0Nova

I read the first series of her books up to it got to pegasus and the space kinds of books.. I found by the end it got too complicated for me and my favourite characters just weren't in it anymore so i lost interest. As to the characters themselves it was very confusing at first to me as they all had the same kind of names which was hard to keep track off when your only just starting to get into fantasy books. I'd go for a dragon, something you could talk to. 3nodding
