Angel shrugged. "Jeez, it's just in case we get separated, something handy to blast out on the public channel." He said, a little embarrassed. He didn't like feeling like an idiot around new people, but if they didn't care one way or another, that was alright with him. "Sure, let's do that. Peter, let's get a move on." He said, shaking his head. He didn't want to seem like the putz of the group- at least, not already...

Sweet, she was doing good, so far. She was figuring out game lingo, for the most part... maybe, and she even got to do cool stuff like picking out team names... Hmmm... what if later they had code names, too? Nah... that was proabably a little too much. Besides... wasn't that what they username was for? Though, then again... she'd heard some people used their real names fopr usernames... while easy to remember was rather boring. Those people needed a cool code name. Definately.
She watched too many movies.
Oh, right... they were having a conversation. Guess was a holosin, like her, and Caela was a... gunslinger. Poor brother... he's gonna have to play babysitter for all of us...
"Hmmm... well, my character came with a laser sword, so your migth have come with a gun?" She had to check her inventory to make sure of that and... uh... yeah, she had a beginner laser sword. So, should she try to upgrade her stuff when she hadn't even used it yet?

Avor nodded politely in Caela's direction. "You should have basic starting equipment." Well, looks like she and Anlu were at least on a level playing field, which was good. He knew his sister would get a grasp on this relatively quickly, she had a brain for technical things after all, but training both of them together would be easier than having one person lagging behind everyone else. "We'll take things slowly so you can get a grasp on the mechanics as we go, I don't mind. With me around to keep you alive, we can afford to make mistakes."
He got the feeling Guess was a little exasperated, so he tried to step in as best he could. "For the moment I think it's probably best if Caela and Anlu focus on how to use their class and abilities, rather than getting new stuff with all the bells and whistles." He wasn't sure how long Guess had been playing exactly, but she seemed to have a grasp on things. "I don't mind funding new equipment for you though, Guess, since you already have the basics down."

"No worries. My equipment just got an upgrade," Guess said. "And I still have enough for more if I need it. I'm pretty careful with my funds and loot collecting." She jabbed Avor lightly with her elbow. "And you know, I'm here to help keep them alive too. I may not be all healer...y. But I can help with defense and attacks and all that. I'm pretty talented that way."
"Anyway, why don't you both stop and go through your equipment first that way you can decide if you'd like to upgrade off the bat. Between Avor and I, we probably and pool enough to get you something decent without completely wiping out the group finances. I have no idea how difficult this event quest will be so it might be nice if you have some higher level stuff."
"Though we can't get you extremely good stuff yet since you're not high enough level to equip it yet. But still, stopping at shop will also help you find stuff you might want to keep your eye on for later, after you level up and earn some money."
**
Peter raised an eyebrow, glancing around. He...was not sure, exactly, why Mister Not-The-Team-Leader had singled him out that way but he foresaw this was going to be the beginning a very amusing relationship. "You are not the boss of me," he stated calmly, retaining a straight face and serious tone. "And actually I did hear Aku, you know, the team leader guy? Yeah. I heard him tell everyone to get going. Didn't really need the extra commentary. Thanks though. At least if my hearing ever goes bad, I can count of you to repeat things other people just said." He gave Angel a fake smile and thumbs up before starting away.
"Anyway, I just need to upgrade my clothes to something a little better." He glanced back at the group. "I was thinking something in leather to, you know, accentuate my manly physique. And, you know, offer a bit of protection at a very cost effective price." Hopefully something without those huge, annoying pauldrons as well. They looked cool, but he kept getting stuck in doorways. He wanted to find something a little more streamlined.

Angel made a face. This was getting off to a great start. "Eh... heh... that's- not what I meant. Aku said we should go where you needed to go so I was just figuring you'd be leading the way. Heh..." He said, blushing a little. The guy had gotten kinda mean kinda fast, hadn't he? Still, Angel took out his own weapons and checked them. He usually remembered to top off his ammo after every session, but it never hurt to check. Just as they always were, the mags were full and his ammo reserves were high. Henge pistols were like that. The rest of the party probably looked at him like an idiot because of the two comments already directed at him, so he'd probably have to prove himself in a battle,

Aku just glanced between Angel and Peter, unsure of what just happened, but at least they're actually moving along now. He simply smiled and followed after Peter quickly. "Okay! After we go get your new shiny leather, I'll stop over at the magic store to pick up a few things. It's not that far from the armor shop, after all. Or maybe I should go there while you're upgrading your stuff, so it won't take as long. Though, I guess we're not really in a hurry since the event doesn't even start until tomorrow."
He paused in thought and just thought of something rather important. "Oh! We need to figure out a time and place to meet up tomorrow! Since the event's going to be announced at Everfire, maybe we should meet up there. Maybe somewhere less crowded, though. How about at the park there? It's somewhat close to the main square and I doubt it'd be that crowded at the time. And how about we meet around 11 universal time? It'd give us some time, but it won't leave us just standing around waiting, you know?"

Caela smiled at Avor's generosity, and Guess', too. She then glanced down at herself and checked for a weapon, finding it in a rather obvious place, the holster. Duh, how idiotic of her. Ah, well, she supposed she'd be getting used to all this eventually. That is, if she decided to keep playing after the event was over.
"If you two don't mind, I'd really appreciate the help," she replied to them. "So, like, better equipment would mean, like... armor and stuff, right? Where do we go to get those? Oh, and later, I can totally pay you back for all this stuff, when I can afford it."

Anlu checked herself and basically just found her laser sword. She had no armor, but that could be remedied later... if she wanetd to wait. Hmm... so, I can train with what I have now... or I can try to upgrade? I just got here, though, so... "I think I'll keep what I have for now... but I still wouldn't mind going window shopping if that's the current plan. I migth see something I'd like to get later and all that." Putting her sword away, she grabbed her brother's arm with one hand and bounced lightly. "I'm ready to go, if you guys are?"

((I was trying to wait on some others but I'm going to go ahead and post. It's been a while. Kuro, if anything Guess is saying is wrong, I can edit. I'm mostly going off how most MMOs I play, work.))
"Generally equipment shops will have whatever you need," Guess said. "From armor, to weapons. You can get other supplies--potions and 'food' and things from other places. Usually, there are things you can get that will help you if your stamina is failing and all that. Of course, we have Avor for that too but it'll make his work easier if we're all equipped to do some self healing too. But the key is to get enough to get buy, without overstocking. First of all, you obviously have limited storage as far as what you can carry. Secondly, whenever we kill or defeat creatures, they'll usually drop things. And loot can be anything from potions, to treasure, to armor. They also drop things we need on quests and things. So you definitely want to have room to stash the good loot."
She glanced at the super-bouncey Anlu. Right then. "Well, anyway, let's go. We can browse for a bit. I'm not in a hurry.
**
"I like the idea of a park," Peter said, heading for the armor shop. "It'll stop us from having to stand around and shout 'Hey! Powerpuff Girls meeting over here!" Though, he was definitely going to stand there shouting that anyway, just for the hell of it. "Anyway, I'm fine with the meeting at the park idea."
As he walked, he pulled his pack off and held it in front of him, rummaging through it to check his stock of supplies. A couple of his vials were running a bit low. He contemplated if he wanted to replenish those right now or not. he had several other full vials but depending on the efficiency of his crew, he might be using them up rather quickly. Hopefully no one was gonig to be stupid enough to rush into any situations without planning. One time he'd been in a crew with this really annoying fellow named....something...Leon. No. Le...Leroy! Yeah. He was really irritating.
Peter didn't want a repeat of that little situation.

Avor nodded along with Guess' explanation, she seemed to have a pretty good grasp of what's going on. The fact that she took the time out to think of things from his (the healer's) perspective put her ahead of most straight off the bat, and she was no nonsense but in a non-jerk kind of way. He had a feeling he was going to like her. Avor kept his bouncy companion in place until Guess finished, then gestured towards the shops."Guess is right, most of the heavy lifting healing wise will be coming from me... but it will certainly help if you have something to use on yourselves. Especially since I can't be everywhere at once."
Caela on the other hand was a little troubling. The basic mechanics shouldn't take too long to learn, and she already seemed to be having some trouble... hopefully she'd pick it up soon. Besides, who was he to judge, considering his own sister was already acting like a complete spaz?

Angel shrugged. "All my mags are topped off, so I'm set to go. Gotta use the rest of this Henge ammo anyways before I buy my new set, so I'll prolly be using my high bullet-cap techniques while we're out. And, I agree, a park sounds good. Just find the largest one, and give a shout-out on the public channel, shouldn't be too hard to locate each other."
He didn't like the fact that they would essentially be waiting a full day to actually be getting anything don,e but some players were just like that... WEll, it would give him some time to level and burn off the surplus Henge ammo. He really had bought a little too much before his last excursion.

Aku smiled at the mention of his idea sounding like a good one. Though, he became a bit confused at what Angel said. "But, there's only one park in Everfire, so it has to be the biggest one there," he told him as they walked along. "Anyway, that's where we're going to meet tomorrow. Maybe while we're there, we can pick up one or two more people. You know, if some of us don't show up tomorrow. Well, I plan to show up. I don't know about any of you, though."
He saw the armor shop not too far ahead, and grinned. "Looks like we're here. Maybe while we're here, I'll see if I can find something better that I can use. Doesn't hurt to upgrade if you can, you know?"

Caela listened as Guess explained what exactly could be bought at the shops. She filed that information away for later, making a note to not forget any of that. If she was going to get by later on without a healer, she'd need to know this kind of stuff.
She smiled over at Avor and Guess, and nodded, then looked over at the spazzing Anlu with a laugh. "All right, I think I understand. Thanks for explaining. Anyway, um, after you? I don't really, like, know where the shops are yet."

I'm sure we could snag another one or two even if we do all show up," Peter said, going ahead of Aku and stepping into the armor shop. "It couldn't hurt. By the way, if anyone has room--do me a favor and snag a few healing potions and stuff. It's going to be easier to keep you guys in shape if you're able to do some self healing too. I'd rather focus on keeping you healed and buffed, rather than actually having to resurrect you--because that's a pain in the a**."
As the others did whatever it was they were doing, he started to go through the racks, checking the labels for things suitable for his class and level. Fortunately he was not a berserker so he passed up the furry underwear. There was a small part of his mind that thought they might feel nice...but he ignored it because that part of his mind tended to encourage stupidity and at the moment, he just wanted some clothes that would keep him from getting killed. And as funny as it would be to show up tomorrow in furred briefs, no. Just...no.

(Sorry, I was waiting on Kuro)
Anlu stopped bouncing to pay proper attention to Guess' explanation. It seemed like she'd have to buy stuff after all. Food and potions... oh well, that didn't seem too bad. Though, she wodered if the "food" here actually tasted real... and if it did... would it make her real body feel "full" too? That was something to test out. Though, from the perspective of a concerned citizen, somehting like that could pose as a problem... dieters around the galexy copuld effectively starve themselves by only "eating" game food... though, if something like that did happen, it probably would have been noticed a long time ago, right? Or would that be something people turned ablind eye to in the name of free will?
Nah... her imagination was just getting overactive. Something like that wouldn't happen.
"Okay, potions and food are on the "Buy" list." She had al;ready said, previously, that she was ready to go... so now it was a matter of time before someone just started to leading the way.

"Right then," Guess said. "This way. I'm sure you'll learn where everything is soon, but for future reference, you come equipped with a map. They're actually interactive and change, depending what city you're in."
Guess started in the direction of the nearest equipment shop, shooting Avor a teasing grin. "Don't worry, that's a failing most men share. Can't be everywhere at once..." Well, even if she had to be a on a team with two completely newbies, at least she also got to be on the team with an attractive man. Though she supposed in real life, he could be a tentacle monster (well, not really, since they didn't exist, as far as she knew) but in game, he was hot and that was the only place she'd be seeing him, so it was good enough.
((Just BSing the map thing but since most MMOs have some sort of map or compass feature, I figure Lillend would have something liek that too...))

Avor responded with an equal grin right back at Guess, "Sure doesn't stop us from trying though." He considered it an irony that the most grounded member of the party was also the one with the strangest name, he wondered if she was the sort that just liked the joke, or if she was from somewhere that accepted nouns as names. Either way, he'd just thank his lucky stars that he'd have help looking after Caela and his sister.
"Usually the shops tend to be separated into equipment sections and supply sections," Avor said addressing the whole of the group this time as they walked. "in the larger cities there will often be multiple shops with largely the same merchandise save for some regional specialties. This basically saves you the trouble of having to shop around much." They approached a large square building, bustling with the activity of both NPCs and other players going about their business. He pulled out his own copy of the map, swiping his hand across it to "scroll" it to their location. "This looks to be your average general supply shop, so it'll do for our purposes." He caught the heavy door as another PC exited, a burly tattooed berserker, and held it open, gesturing for the ladies to precede him.
