Ashriel shook her head, disagreeing with Valus. "There is always an escape." She argued, glaring at him. She continued to struggle against his hands, trying to pull away. She spat at him again.

Valus laughed, stepping back and out of the way of the spit, "If you say so, here, I'll wait." He said, stepping back and folding his arms, watching Ashriel, his eyes mocking her attempts to escape.

Ashriel struggled, attempting to slide her hands out of the shackles. Upon failure, she glared at Valus. "There is always a way; I just haven't found it yet." She insisted, her eyes watching him.

Valus chuckled, "So determined." He said with a vicious smirk, he snapped his fingers and a tray of food floated in through the air and set down next to Ashriel. "If you ever plan on escaping you'll need your strength." He said, his voice was casual but his eyes flashed mockingly.

Ashriel glared at him for several moments before even glancing to the food. "And how do I know you didn't poison it?" She questioned, ignoring it immediately after. The funny thing was, she was actually hungry. However, she was ignoring her hunger, not caring how she wound up feeling. Besides, if she lost some weight, wouldn't her wrists shrink and be able to slide out of the cuffs? Yes...that should work.

Ashriel supposed he had a point. Her eyes stared at the food as she heard her stomach growl rather loudly, and she sighed. She supposed she didn't have much of a choice. Much longer, and she could get sick from not eating. She moved to pick up the food.

Ashriel ate silently, not looking at him until she was done. She put down the plate when she was finished, still not speaking to him. Her eyes moved to look at the shackle around her wrist more closely, to see if there was some sort of release, or lock opening, that she could force flames into and unlock.

There was none, just a thick band of black metal marked with runes of demonic origin.

Ashriel frowned, staring at the runes. She'd never seen anything like them before; that was bad... Her eyes looked at her captor after a moment, trying to figure out what he was.

Valus just smirked, arms crossed, he was quite handsome, unnaturally so, with pale skin and crimson eyes like orbs of blood, horns sweeping forward from hair like strands of obsidian. His flesh was flawless and un-marred, his hands ending in slight claws. His body was well-muscled but slim. He watched Ashriel with cruel amusement in his eyes, crimson orbs watching her.

Ashriel found herself forgetting her purpose in staring at him after only moments. He...he was lovely, she had to admit. Why...why was she staring? Her mind dug, and she frowned when she realized why she had been looking at him. She honestly had not even the slightest guess at what he was. Perhaps she should have actually attended her classes once in a while - then she might've known her situation better. She bit her lip, trying to figure out what she could possibly do. Some part of her liked his eyes on her, even though the majority of her despised it thoroughly. Her eyes looked down at the ground, giving up on trying to figure out what the heck he was.

Valus chuckled, a dark sound like black silk rasped across obsidian, as beautiful and wicked as Valus himself. "You are trapped here, yes, but that does not mean your stay will be always bad, you may come to like it here, of course, before you can do that you must submit to me." He said conversationally, as if Ashriel were not bound in chains and naked before him.

Ashriel looked up at Valus for a moment, listening to his words before trying to decide what she was going to say. "I could never submit to you." Her voice was still flat and solid, as she frowned. She was breaking down inside, although she refused to admit it. In her mind, she still thought she had all the power.
