 Arcanum kissed her. "You sure?" he asked her once more, then decided to ask, "You sure you want to do this?" he asked, gesturing to the clothes coming off.

Arcanum almost fell forward but he put his arm against the wall, keeping his balance. He walked over to Lolene and sat next to her, holding her hand. "I didn't say I didn't want to," he explained. "I was making sure you wanted to before we did."

Arcanum looked at Lolene and forced her to look at him. "Hey hey hey," he said. "Am I hearing this from the same girl who told me to practically find the balls to stand up to my dad when the time comes? I'm here for you, and i'll protect you. No matter what risks it puts me at, as long as I still have you and you're happy, and free. I'll be here for you until you tell me to go the f*ck away. I promise that, Lolene." He kissed her head. "Calm down."

▶ Lolene looked down at her lap. She slowly smiled, ❝ ... I love you so much Arcanum... ❞ She looked up at him and whispered, ❝ Vous êtes absolument parfait. ❞ She wrapped her arms around his neck, and kissed him.

Arcanum looked at Lolene and smiled, and then kissed her back. He paused and then said, "I love you so much too Lolene. And you act like you aren't perfect." He kissed her again and held her close.
