Well....... I'm just going to be brutally honest here in my views and hopes, so don't take any of this personally, anyone.
I want to see advanced roleplays at NNR. That's where I want to roleplay, that's what I want to read, that's how I want to spend my time. My expectations have been raised, and this roleplay does not necessarily meet them. It's not me blowing off the idea, it's me needing more from it. It's a craving I have, an endless gnawing inside, and I've gone too far forward to worry about anything behind.
I'm sure that doesn't completely make sense, so basically what I'm saying is that what I see here has a lot of potential, but it's not at a high enough level to satisfy me. It's not a literate roleplay in idea, as I see it. So keep working on it, Cat, I'm sure many others will continue to help you with it. I know I will, when I can.
And don't feel too bad, this isn't directed at you at all, it's just me cracking down on what this guild should be, what I feel needs to be said and hasn't been in the past.

Brutal is okay with me in my book.
However, I would like some suggestions as to what you would like see improved in specific. You were rather vague as to which aspects of the rp set up should be improved.
I have no problem with changing or improving things, I just haven't been well recently and I'm not sure when I'll be feeling better, which is part of the reason for my inactivity.
So, Sparrow, and everyone else suggestions?

My opinion on the current description of the roleplay is that the setting is understood. You have the views and hopes of the person running the school. Us as the roleplayers have the knowing that there are some supernatural visitors blending into the environment during the events (there's a hint at what the story might be about). We also are given notice of how the school will operate now with the three boys who are going to a normally all girl school (also a possibility for the main storyline). I will say that there are a -ton- of open spots for too many roleplayers. Maybe less dorm vacancies? Too many students means too fast a roleplay, and those burn out real quick.
EDIT: Classes are set, and so are the schedules. Nothing much can be improved there as far as the typical schooling RP's go. Also, dorm settings are established as well.
To be honest, I don't think anything's missing. The only thing you could possibly add now are spoilers for the main plot? IMO, literacy is shown through the performance of the roleplayers, not the given settings. This is my 2 cents for what can be done for the roleplay itself as per 'improvements'. Anyone else?
On a sidenote, since this RP is still in the making, I'd suggest people start giving suggestions for improvements rather than things that shouldn't be seen here just yet (casual talk).

I happen to agree at what Ruloh is saying, Sparrow. If you remember Elemental Boarding School, the beginning layout for that was similar. I feel that we, as the roleplayers, should be the ones to have it literate. School roleplays are usually supposed to start pretty, you know?
If you are really wanting more detail and plot and story to it, maybe Sam and you and I could discuss that outside of this thread. The main plot - especially the twists in it - are meant to be kept under wraps for the most part.
So, I think this has the chance to do well as is. Maybe if we start this off as a Mini-Roleplay? Just to get it going, so you can see what we mean?
Just a suggestion.

I agree with all of this. The only thing I would be concerned about is direction. When I say this I mean reasons for people to talk to each other. Unless they knew each other before hand, it's very rare for people to approach people they aren't familiar with already unless a circumstance pushed them together. In a larger roleplay it would be too coincidental for that to happen to all the characters; so it's certainly something to keep in mind as people make characters. Of course this could easily be worked out amongst all of the roleplayers, but it's certainly something to chew over as this roleplay develops.

Well this -is- a highschool RP, and what better way to push people who don't socialize outside of school than inside of a classroom? That's how I remember it for myself anyways XD Usually, teachers pair people up or allow them to choose partners for those kind of activities and I imagine that will be commonplace enough for everyone to at least exchange "hello and goodbye" all throughout.
But I do agree about roleplayers needing to talk to others about who talks to who and when during the RP. Honestly though, this should not be a problem for the 3 males since according to the setting, they knew each other beforehand. The plot movement would and should obviously be handled by the RP maker and assigned moderators.

I agree. I always hated when teachers do that, me being a very anti-social person to begin with haha. So I think if most of us are in consensus with everything, maybe we should put it in the mini roleplay section and start accepting profiles then. Best to see where this goes and get the show on the road right?

Sorry for such a late reply, but, seeing as there are enough Vices who agree upon it, then I'll gladly allow this roleplay to be accepted. Although, it's in Katty's subforum now, so it's her word.

Due to personal reasons, Sam won't be around much, so she'd allow for someone else to take over the roleplay, if they wish. Katty, I'll let you decide.

I would be willing to take over the roleplay, I think it's a shame to let it sit here and gather dust. Especially with all that has happened to get it where it is at today.
