Kaiken stood on a stone pathway, her duffle at her feet with the strap held lightly in her left hand. Her right hand however was clenched tightly into a fist. She glared down at a bed of roses, they looked so much like the ones back home.

"Me? not have enough control?"

She muttered in disgust to herself

"I can't believe father would think I needed to go to school....just because I managed to throw his second through the wall over a game of knuckles....pbbt"

Sighing she turned to look around her. She wasn't what you would call traditionaly dressed. If anything she looked more ready for combat then school. Well supported leather boots strapped up her legs to just below the knees. A pleated leather skirt circled her waist and protected her thighs. She left her midrift bare in preferance to show off the well toned muscles her breeding awarded her. A dark purple cotton tank top protected her chest from the leather vest she kept laced tight at the bottom but open at the top to allow some breathing room. Due to her station she had a collar or sort with a deep purple amethyst pendant declaring a symbol on it. Her moonlight white hair was kept neat on top of her head in to buns.

"And I can't believe he said he'd have to wait until my first progress report to send me my weapon...how am I supposed to train without it?"

She glanced about the courtyard again then tapped a toe against he duffle

"....wonder where I'm supposed to go...."

"Yes. I drowned in the pond over there." Points towards the small pond tucked in the corner of the campus. "I don't remember much about it. Hands holding me down, struggling to break free, darkness falling around me, and then waking up at the bottom of the pond as I am now. Something about that pond sustains me but I have to return there every five hours lest I begin to decay." Would cry if she still could instead the water drips down her body as it always has since that day.

"Thanks. I just wish I could remember why it happened. I live at the bottom of the pond. Took me a long time to get used to living underwater and not worry about breathing. I tried to stay away from the place but after about 5 hours I start to feel tired and I start to decay. The pond regenerates me. It also heals any injuries I have. I just feel like my existence is pointless really." Wants to sigh but doesn't. "Watching the people go about their business has kept me entertained for the most part. I have watched many romances start and end on the benches around the pond. They never knew I was there since I usually stay under the water."

"Thanks. So where should I go around here? I want to be careful not to get stuff wet. I am never dry anymore so that kind of makes for a lot of problems when I go places like the library."

Kai winced as a loud piercing sound rocked her ears. Spinning around with a growl in her throat she realized it wasn't a sound but a word 'no'. Kai paused and sniffed the air as if in battle

"I'm not alone...."

she murmered to herself. Narrowing her eyes and sharpening all senses she began to actually feel the presence of another. Hefting her bag onto her shoulder she tipped her head back and sniffed. Hunting was always her favorite game. She turned to the left and headed down a path that led to a different section of rose beds. Kai stopped in her tracks and crouched as she tried to figure out if the roses were just a strange color or if they were actually on fire. Then the wind kicked up and she caught the scent of the other person, a girl, only one girl.....

"So why is she talking to herself?....duh, same reason you're talking to yourself....no one else around to talk to Kai thought to herself as she caught her own hypocricy

Kai rubbed her eyes. She KNEW flowers didn't just spontaniously combust like that. Trick of the light, had to be. Sighing with a shrug she stood

"she's the only one around the forsaken place and I'm getting hungry"

Kai took one graceful long-legged step over the "flamming" rose bed and dropped her duffle at her feet with a heavy thump. One hand on her hip in a sort of side ways stance she looked down at the girl without dropping her chin.

"You attend here? or just hanging around talking to yourself for kicks?"

"yeah, real smooth, pull the dominance s**t before you even know her name"

Kai shrugged internally and waited for the girl to show some sign of comprehension

"Don't feel bad. We have plenty of time after all." Looks around. "There appears to be other people here. Why not ask them?"
