A'ra and Xanth finally made it to the barracks, the little green complaining all the way on how far it was.
And it's going to be even farther she told Xanth as she pointed to the bunk furthest from the door. Thatone's ours.
Areyou sure? Xanth seemed doubtful, but started towards the stone couch beside the said bed anyways.
"Of course I am, silly. You don't want to be distirbed, do you?" A'ra replid cheerfully, being careful not to just "send" it by thought. No need to let Xanth know that she was also choosing that one so that others can have the ones closer to the door, like the girl who was carrying her blue in!!

After settling in Xanth for what looked like a long sleep, A'ra straightened her clothes some, trying to make herself as presentable as possible while still being covered with meat juice.

L'real managed to make it to the new barracks around the same time the other weyrlings did, and almost entirely on her own, too. Of course Noth had helped, despite being near to collapse. And maybe she had had to lean on N'rin once or twice. Or alot. ANyway, the point was, she'd kept up, which was encouraging. Mine? Where are we going? L'real snapped out of her daze in time to see the males head off to one side, the females to another, one girl even carrying her newly hatched dragon. That was determination! Still, the weyrling's heart lightened as she saw Alira and a green headed for one of the farthest beds.
"Down there, my heart. Can you make it?" The little green snorted at her again. I can if you can, mine. L'real laughed under her breath, acknowledging the hit. The pair made it down to the end of the row before securing a cot close to Alira's. If she was still Alira.
Noth barely made it to the stone ledge before collapsing. L'real scratched her bondmate for a moment until she was sure she was asleep before hobbling over to her friend's cot. "Congratulations, greenrider! Might I know the name of the beautiful creature sleeping over yonder?" She spoke and motioned grandly towards her friend's hatchling.

A'erak led Kelenth to the Weyrling Barracks, their new home. He followed a few others to the right and saw them settling into the couches closest to the door. He shrugged and settled down into the area beside a boy and his bronze.
For the first time, he felt a wave of fatigue take him over. He fought it, there was still Kelenth to see to and a meal to eat. He also had to find a way to get word to his parents. Kelenth practically swayed at A'erak's feet so he helped the little brown settle down. Once Kelenth fell asleep, A'erak felt a little more energetic. He looked around a little confused. What was he supposed to do now?

N'lin settled his brown into an empty bed and, with a sigh, sat on the cot beside it for a moment. He glanced around, yes, their bags had been brought in. Grinning, the boy grabbed his own bag and pulled out some better clothing to attend the Feast in. Like the others, once Tolo had fallen asleep, he felt much better and was ready to go to the Feast.

Freya and Sulaith settled into the alcove across the one from A'ra and Xanth. She saw with surprise that L'real and her dragon had made it all the way to this corner of the room too, which was good; perhaps she was on the mend.
She saw to her dragon first. "There, lovey; there's a nice big stone couch for you here!" she said. As Sulaith curled up delicately, her lids closing one by one, Freya ran a hand adoringly along her neck and eyeridges. That feels good mind... came a drousy reply. Another second and she could feel the dragonet's mind calm in sleep. She stayed for moment, resting against her, overwhelmed again with the events of the past hour. My life is changing...
She made her way over to where L'real and A'ra were, rubbing her back ruefully. "Three greenriders!" she said, gesturing grandly. "Oh, looks like our stuff is here...I really need to change," she added, spying the stains of meat juice all over her white robe. "And from the looks of you two, I'd say you need to too!" she said with a laugh.
---
After making sure that L'real and Noth got to the Barracks okay, N'rin and Ardeth made their way to the boy's section. The sleepy bronze feel asleep immediately, even before his head hit the stone. N'rin contemplated going to the Feast and then decided against it. The day had been too overwhelming as it was; he didn't think he could take more polite socializing. Instead, he curled up on the stone ledge next to his dragon and closed his eyes without sleeping, his head leaning against Ardeth's side.

Akai really hated to admit it, but her adorable and sweet and funny blue was just a bit heavy She sighed soflty, her arms ached a bit but it was actually not to bad. If they had had to go much further she wouln't have made it. But as it was she'd make it. And just be a little sore for a half an hour or so.
She shifted Tollyth a little bit as she walked into the wyerling room and blinked faintly suprised to see everyone and stone couches besides the beds.. She wondered what they were for untill she saw one of the dragons curled up in one sound asleep.
She hesatated when she entered not quite sure if they had assigned beds or if it was like the drudges and you grabbed the best spot you could. Adfter a momnets of watching she figured out it was first come first serve. She would have gone to the very back but somone alredy had those beds.
She licked her lips and started down the beds heading for the next to last, there was no way she was going to be in the front of the room. The thought made her shiver slightly. Tollyth gave a sleepy rumble and she nuzzled him lightly
"Shh almost to your bed Tollyth " she murmmus soflty. She got a sleep filled mumble and tollyth setteled onece more.
When Akai reached as close to the last bed as she could get, she gently knelt beside the stone couch and started to settle her lovely blue into it She nudeged him a bit as she sat him on the floor
"Tollyth.. come on.. into the bed.." she said carefuly guiding his clumsy sleepy self into the couch. He flopped down and promptly was out cold again. Akai smiled fondly at him. as she rubbed his eye ridge for a moment. THen got up and turned to find the girl she'd followed in.
((sorry brain dead on her name.. gomen nassi)) WHen akai found her she smiled gratefully to her.
"Thank you for carrying Kopi for me. I hope it wasn't to much of a bother.." she said soflty taking her flit back. Gently she held Kopi in her arms. He warbled at her and she smield kissing the top of his head
"I have to change.. you're going to come with me.. but you need to rest on the cot for now." she murmmued soflty to him. he warbled again then gave a cheep and nuzzled into her arms again. Akia returned her attention to the girl.
"Thank you again. If you think of a way for me to repay you.. please just let me know" she said with a smal bow.. then headed back to her own bed. She'd seen her small bag at the front of the room.It was much shabbier than most everyones so she'd been able to spot it easily. She layed kopi on the pillow who trilled soflty that he Liked this soft spot.
Akai giggled and walked to the front retreiveing her bag. None of her clothing was anywhere near as good as everyone elses, but then again she haden't expected it to. She was a drudge afterall, she pulled out the least ragged skirt and top she had. it was still quite patched up and frayed, but it was clean, though stained in several places from things he just haden't been able to wash out no matter how much she tried.
she hesatated then keeping her head down she gently pulled the white robe off wondering if they were to keep them or give them back. then she pulled off the outfit she'd been in.. andp ulled on the other outfit.
Not a huge difference, but oh well. She gently folded her clothing and tufked it away then plooked at kopi. He was sound asleep she rubbed his body lightly avoiding the wounds
"I'll be back Kopi after everyone else comes back" she says soflty. Kopi trilled soflty and snuggled into the pillow more. Akai giggled soflty getting the feeling she wasn't going to be getting that pillow back anytime soon.
She ran her fingers though her hair attempting to de-tangel it some, her comb was gone from her bag, it must have fallen out at some poit when whoever packed her bag for her had moved it. Oh well.. she'd have to buy one later.. for now her fingers would have to do.
Akai looked around tenativly. She was a dragonrider now... she hoped sincerly that she could do everything right.. she din't want to risk loosing this, not for anything.
Mine.. you think to loudly came a sleep filled whine in her head. She just giggled
I'm sorry my darling TOllyth i'll think quietly Tollyth snorted and rolled over so his back was to the room his face nicely shadowed. He fell back asleep. Akai sighed and then played with the edge of her shirt not sure if she shoudl go to the feast thing now.. or wait for others to leave.

A'rai finally got Rodinth into the barracks. So, any clue which spot we should nab? she asked lightly, fighting down her feelings of awe over all of this. As long as there is a bed there, I don't care. The brown was clearly tired, and looked about ready to fall asleep right were he was. A'rai quickly ushered the brown towards a spot that was close to the door, but not too close. The brown flopped down onto the dragon-sized bed with a sigh and was instantly asleep. A'rai stayed for a moment to stroke those beautiful eyeridges, and let herself out of the room. --- B'ren was practically shoving Osseyth forward by the time they reached the male half of the barracks. Mine... I'm tired, and I want to sleep right here... "Not right here! Let's be polite and find a spot in back, ok?" MurAWWW... the bronze interrupted himself with a yawn, his snout opened wide for a moment then shut with a SNAP! before he continued. Sorry about that, but ok. Osseyth followed B'ren all the way to the back to flop down on one of the rear spots. Here's far enough... The bronze managed to say before falling asleep. B'ren flopped down beside his bronze, stroking the wonderful bronze hide for a moment before exhaustion overtook him. He curled up into a ball next to Osseyth before falling asleep almost instantly. ((He hasn't had lunch and he recently came to the weyr so he's really tired from his journey. If any of you want to wake him up in time for the feast...))

"Lireal!! You made it!!" A'ra said kind of sheepish like, she should have helped her here. "Isn't it great, we're all greenriders!! This is Xanth."
Turning she motioned to her green, already snoring softly next to her.
Noticing thier things piled to one side of the room, she started for them. "Let's get dressed and go to the Feast. For some reason, I'm starving!!!" She giggled at that, and almost danced to her things, she was so very happy! She smiled happily at the other girls in the barracks, looking forward to becoming better friends with all of them.

Veering toward the right, V'ten and Averith made their way into the Barracks. Several of the nearer beds were already taken (and by those larger and supposedly stronger beasts, no less, V'ten noted), so he urged the blue on further into the room. Pehaps it will be better this way, he mentioned as they finally stopped a little more than halfway down the row of cots. This way, you will get stronger, having to walk farther than them.
I will?? Averith pulled his eyes away from the welcoming sight of his new bed to look up at his lifemate. Then perhaps I can deal with this long walk after all. Right now, though, I just want to sleep. As he said this, the blue yawned mightlily.
V'ten chuckled. "C'mon then, up you go." Watching as the blue one climbed up onto the stone couch and immediately curled himself into a ball, V'ten was vaguely aware of a drudge stopping to drop a bag of his things on his cot before moving on. For a while, he just stood there, watching Averith sleep, before finally tearing his eyes from the sight to unfasten the bag and find a decent set of clothes for the evening.

Freya pulled the not-so-white robe over her head and fished through her trunk to the very bottom. She finally brought out a long, healer-purple dress tunic with a matching dark skirt. She slipped them on, belted the tunic, added a leather jerkin and some soft sandals, and turned back to her friends. She realized with annoyance that her apprentice knot was still on the tunic. Have to fix that later...
Just as she was belting on her pouch, a strange weyrling--by her colors she looked like one of the harper candidates--came up asking for numbweed. "I think I have just a tiny bit left," she said, dubiously glancing into her jar. "You're welcome to it." She handed it to her, returning the warm smile. As she tied back her hair, she introduced herself and the rest of the group. "I'm Freya, rider of green Sulaith, and this is Alira, rider of green Xanth, and L'real, rider of green..." She paused. Noth, came a sleepy reply. "Er, Noth." She'd really have to get used to all these names...

Ryneth yawned mightily as L'rin guided him through the door into the weyrling barracks. He would have gone for the first bunk empty if L'rin hadn't gently guided him to a far corner. Why so far? the little blue whined. I am sleepy. I wish to rest.
L'rin chuckled as the blue finally reached and clambered up into the bunk he'd chosen for them. "This way we are not bothered as much," he explained. "We can watch and listen, and learn." Noticing soft snoring coming from the bunk already, he chuckled quietly and changed into a clean tunic. With a light pat on the soft blue head, he wandered over to the others.

Akai hesatated and then moved closer to the small group of riders. She swollowed hard
"S.. shoudln't we be going.. to.. to the feast?" she spoke up. It was tenative.. but also a bit louder than the others were talking. She felt anervous blush rising up and coverin gher cheeks. Unconciosuly she ducked her head looking at the group though her bangs.
She hoped she'd not just made them mad.. but.. well.. they were the reason this feast hting was happening.. Well them and there wonderfull dragons.. Shoudlnt they get going to the feast?

Sitting on the side of his bed, H'nar watched the gentle rise and fall of Cerinth's ribs as the dragon slept. Thankfully, he hadn't needed to be carried like some of his siblings, but had instead managed to stumble his way to the barracks and collapse on the nearest unoccupied dragonet couch.
Suddenly, H'nar's stomach rumbled, and realizing that he was still wearing the white Candidate robe, Hal rummaged through the trunk at the foot of the bed for a minute, finally locating something more suited for the occasion. Changing quickly, he thought ahead to the feast that was starting in the Lower Caverns. He's missed a couple meals at the Harper Hall, and the thought of the excellent food that the Weyr was likely to be serving today set his mouth to watering. After making sure his boots were tied and his hair neatly combed, he checked on the blue once more to see that he was still soundly sleeping, then headed off toward the lower caverns.
