Sesshomaru came flying over the trees, as he dropped the boar by the campfire.
He landed on top of the demon and two went rolling across the ground.
A vicious growl rumbled in his chest, angry that his sibling was being terrorized.
The taiyoukai then sprayed a stream of poison at the offending demon when it made to retaliate, killing it in a matter of moments.
Sesshomaru couldn't think clearly enough through the panic he felt to locate Inuyasha by scent and called out,

"Inuyasha, where are you?!"

Relief washed over Sesshomaru in waves as he found him up on a tree branch, appearing unharmed.
With a well calculated leap, he retrieved Inuyasha from the branch and carried him back to the campsite.
The taiyoukai was softly rubbing Inuyasha's back the entire time and set him down beside him, as he skinned the boar and cooked Inuyasha's portion of the kill.
He ate his raw, seeing as how raw meat was better for full fledged Inuyoukai.

"It's because you're half demon.
If you were a full blooded inuyoukai like myself, there would be a greater chance that you would have a tail and demonic markings.
However, you would definetely have pointed ears.
It is also the reason for why other demons wish you harm.
You see, in the eyes of both human and demon races, half demons have no place, nor do any from either side that hold no hatred for the other.
That is why those other royal humans tried to burn your mother's body.
I'm not going to let that bother me because you are my little brother and that's all that matters."

He made certain Inuyasha had his fill and let him curl up in his tail for the night after he too was finish with the meal.

"The technical term is hanyou.
However, the more commonly used words are dispicable insults.
Despite this, I'll tell you, so you'll be informed.
I've often heard the words mutt, abomination, and half-breed from both humans and demons.
Don't let it get under your skin.
Others often fear what they don't understand, such as how on rare occassions, some humans and demons fall in love with each other."

He smiled when Inuyasha curled up in the fur of his tail.
As his sibling told him that he loved him, his eyes widened slightly in surprise and then warmed.

"I love you too, little brother."

When they did reach the castle, Sesshomaru showed Inuyasha his room, which was next to his own.
Over time, the taiyoukai taught the pup many things, such as how to properly hunt, caring for his claws so he wouldn't be left defenseless, how to effectively dodge only using a series of leaps combined with his surroundings, and how to better utilize his senses.
Before he knew it, Inuyasha was now 10 years old.

However, things were not as they seemed.
Sesshomaru was under a lot of stress after returning from a meeting with other lords.
When Inuyasha ran up to him and began accussing him of being a bad brother for not doing anything about the cruel treatment he endured at the hands of some of the servants and finding his paperwork and meetings more important that his safety, he snapped under pressure and said something he didn't mean.

"If you truely believe that I have been so horrible by giving you a new home and raising you as your mother asked of me, then get out."

He was angry from such an accusation, but didn't truly believe his younger brother would leave and not return.
He was wrong....

Sesshomaru watched from the window, as Inuyasha leaped away from the castle.
He sighed heavily knowing he messed up.
His anger grew when he recalled his sibling mentioning being tormented by different servants.
The taiyoukai hunted each one of them down in the castle and killed them from their actions.
It only helped a small amount.

Over time his self anger became misguided and he started to hate Inuyasha for leaving after everything he had done for him.
Even so, he would look for him every day.
Eventually, he found him pinned to the Sacred Tree.
It hurt to see this and he tried to pull the arrow out.
He growled as the arrow burned his hand.
Sesshomaru stayed by his sealed younger brother for time and rubbed his head.
When the sound of approaching villagers reached his ears, he used his orb of light to leave the area.
The taiyoukai believed Inuyasha would never be released from the seal.

Shortly after this scene played out, Sesshomaru woke up got to his feet.

'Inuyasha...'

He began walking away from the camp, silently signaling Rin, Jaken, and Ah-Uhn to follow him.
The demon lord then began trying to locate his siblings scent and tracked it when he caught on to it.

Sesshomaru looked to the Tenseiga at his waist as it began to shake.
He knew Inuyasha was close.
Looking up, he saw Inuyasha enter the clearing he had been traveling through with his small pack.
His expression wasn't cold or dismissive.
Instead, it was more searching, as if to see if his sibling had experienced the same series of memories.

The demon lord quickly grabbed Inuyasha and leaped to the left as a bomb containing spiritual energy was thrown towards his turned back.
When they landed he winced and pulled out a dart from his neck.
It had been a diversion.
The monk that had once tried to 'rescue Rin' from Sesshomaru, had shot a dart filled with Holy Water into his bloodstream.
Sesshomaru gasped and clutched his chest, the dart falling to the ground and splashing the remaining liquid onto the ground.
His legs buckled and he collapsed from the pain.

The demon lord's brows were drawn together in pain and he groaned in pain as he was shook.
His body trembled slightly as he had trouble breathing.
Ah-Uhn had the foresight to place both Jaken and Rin on their back before taking to the air, to prevent them from getting hurt.
The Holly Water was trying to tear him apart from the inside, since he was a demon.

Several hours past and the demon lord finally began to stir.
His eyes slowly opened and he turned his head towards where Inuyasha was sitting, the cloth falling off his forehead in the process.
He looked somewhat weak, but he could have been in a lot worse condition had he not been treated so quickly.

Sesshomaru then asked with a bit of a struggle as he saw a blur of red moving towards him,

"I-Inuyasha?"
