James took a step back as the soldier freed one of his arms, this new insanity was strange. As the soldier began to panic James followed the direction of his sight, looking to where the soldier was he saw the smoke. "Richard get away from that!"

Richard threw himself at the ground as the smoke creature dove and struck the soldier instead, tearing through his chest and burning him from within. "What is that thing? Why is it here?" Richard asked, his eyes wide as he watched the creature turn slowly from the soldier's corpse and seemed to glare at James for a moment before it rushed at Richard again, intent on getting to the boy, wanting his power.

James hand never seen such magic before, he didn't know what to expect. As it tried to attack Richard again James quickly chanted a spell. A stream of light formed from his arm and flew out, wrapping itself around the smoke and forcing it to miss Richard. "Richard get behind me now!" He ordered and his spell started to lose its control over the smoke.

The creature let out a hiss as the light wrapped around it, it formed itself arms and soon a deep coughing sound could be heard, "Thisss boy belongsss to me mortal....Leave now and I will sspare your life...." it whispered, as it began to weave its hands in the air, leaving trails of red colored smoke, beginning a spell. Richard, seeing the creatue talk did as James had told him and hid behind him, while at the same time trying to call upon his chimera's to help James, so that James wouldn't have to fight the monster by his self.

"He is in my caravan and I will protect him" He was slightly surprised that is could talk but it didn't make a difference to him. James muttered a similar spell to his last and the light gained power and started to tighten itself around the smoke. If it wouldn't kill the smoke it would atleast inclose it in its light.

With another hiss the creature flowed forward, escaping from the light completely and the coughing sound was made once more as it moved its arms, one of them pointed towards James in a gesture that would look like it was offering its hand, "That may be Mortal....But he isss a sssummoner, one of mine!" as it said that it twisted its wrist and a a ball of smoke shot from it towards James.

"I said it before and I'll say it again. I do not care who people are before they join my caravan but he is in my caravan now and I will protect him." James moved his arm up and the light flew in the arm, then her waved his arm to the side and the light flew infront of James and Richard blocking the smoke ball from reaching them.

With a laugh the creature vanished, "You will try..." was heard moments after, the voice sounding as if it was fading away. With a sigh Richard looked at James and grinned, "Thanks Pops, you saved....Huh?" he started to say when he noticed that James seemed to be getting taller, or that he was getting shorter, looking down he saw the ground was swriling under him, sucking him slowly in. "Help! Pops help me!" he yelled as he was pulled in faster, he was up to his waist in the ground, his eyes wide in fear as the smoke creature appeared above his head. He looked at it and then at James as he was pulled one last time, vanishing for good before he could even yell for help one last time. Laughing the creature looked at James before it said, "And you will fail, just as you failed now...You will fail the othersss you have sssworn to protect..." and with that it faded away as well, leaving James there by himself.

James looked around every which way he could, useing his spells he had his light summoning search around the forest but as it returned it faded away not able to find anything. James' hand sat on his forehead as he held back his anger, the anger in the monster for taking Richard and in himself for not being able to protect him. Remembering back he heard the voice again in his mind "The others..." Looking towards the direction on the camp site he took off as fast as he could, it the others were in danger now it would be his fault.

Clavat sat up rubbing her eye, it was still very late in the night but for some reason she woke up. She looked up at the sky seeing how high the moon was, then she looked to the others, no one else had seemed to waken up. She paused for a second, something was off, she kept looking at the others and thats when she saw that both Richard and her father were missing. "Where....could they have gone...? she whispered to herself braking the silence of the night

The camp fire cracked and sparked behind Clavat and another of the smoke creatures floated up slowly, a hissing laugh coming from it before it changed to Richard's voice, yelling for help, calling for Clavat, Ike, and James, yelling as if he was in pain and making echoes around the camp. Moving upwards slowly, the smoke creature kept imitating Richard's voice, making sure that it was heard and that James would hear him as well sa he got closer to the camp, "All of you will belong to uss..."

Clavat turned back seeing the fire, she was confused at first but hearing Richard's voice her eyes became wide. She covered her eyes but it was still too loud, tears formed as she became scared not knowing what was happening.

Ike grabbed Clavat by the waist and pulled her to her feet, moving her behind him as he drew his sword. He glanced over for a second seeing that MarryMay had woken up, after that his eyes were locked onto where the voice was coming from. He didn't know if that was the real Richard or not but either way it was trouble.
(Looks like I got here just as the fun was starting. Sorry I couldn't get on sooner, but I'm here now)

Marrymay jumped to her feet hearing the voice, she stumbled back next to Clavat never seeing anything like this before. She looked for the real Richard but he was no where to be found along with James. "What's going on here?" She looked to the others for answers but their expression said it all.

James entered the clearing where the camp site was, with a spell already in hand the moment he saw the smoke creature again he launched an attack. His spell shot into the smoke and made it burst into pieces, the smoke faded away and James ran over to the others. "Is everyone alright?" He asked looking over each of them.
