((lol Oh dear god))
Setsuna blinked, then blushed more as Gilly responded to what could only sound very mistakable to someone who didn't know Konoka too well. "W-wait, that's not...it's not what you think!" She managed to say in her panic. She managed to free herself and stand up, brushing herself off though she was still obviously flustered. "I-we, she's referring to us p-playing as children..." She told Gilly, uncomfortable now. She looked at Konoka. "U-um...Sorry, K-Kono-chan...this is Gilly Yamashita, and...and her pet, Masato." She said, referring to Msato as a pet, though a pet fox would seem strange either way. But Konoka didn't have full knowledge of magic yet. She barely remembered anything about William kidnapping and taking her magic, and Setsuna made no comment to make her remember for the sake of the Dean's wishes.

Masato's acute hearing allowed him to hear Konoka coming from a long ways away, but he didn't expect her to suddenly knock Setsuna to the ground like a glomping linebacker. Masato's ears twitched and he looked up at Gilly who signaled with her finger for him not to speak. He was thinking the same. He knew Setsuna, being a hanyo, was fully-aware of the existence of magic, but he couldn't be sure of her ojou-sama, Konoka, who he saw traveling around the campus with her on multiple occasions during his previous searches for food. Plus, there were people staring at them right now.
Masato did his best to act like a normal trained pet, sticking close to and following Gilly while obeying her commands. He also did his best to seem friendly to Konoka by walking up to her slowly with his tail swishing behind him and sniffing lightly at her, like a dog greeting a person and wanting to be petted. However, the truth was, he was trying to become familiar with their scent. Everyone's scent was unique and he could tell if they were magically attuned or not. And that's exactly what he got.
Konoka, like Gilly, radiated strongly of magic, though it seemed more like a strong latent force than one that had already awakened. It also didn't have that powerful infernal element Gilly's aura had due to her heritage. Gilly's magic aura when her demonic side surfaced, reminded him of the blistering heat from a furnace while beads of molten metal jumped out and seared the floor around her. However, when Gilly's demonic side was suppressed, her aura was more like the heat from the embers in a stone fireplace...warm and non-threatening...something he liked and could curl up with his tail over his nose to.
Konoka's aura on the other hand, felt pure and cold to him...like water running down a stone surface after a rainstorm...soothing...something he felt around natural-born healers like Sayako, the village healer where he came from...even the most delirious with pain seemed to calm down around her. A strange girl, the headmaster's granddaughter was, and he wondered just how aware she was of what she possessed...or if she was even aware of it at all.

Gilly's eyes widened at the "playing as children" bit, imagining that they were quite the promiscuous children, but her wild imagination was tamed by her own reason. However, the quiet ones usually were the wild ones. "Konoka-san, right? Pleased to meet you! Nice to know Setsuna-san has such an affectionate friend!" Gilly exclaimed, bowing to Konoka slightly.
"Pet?" Gilly commented, opening her mouth to object to Setsuna calling Masato a mere pet, but stopped herself. "R-Right! Pet! Heel. Sit. Stay." Gilly threw out commands randomly, and reached out a single arm, and pulled Masato to herself in a big bear hug. "It's a top secret project in America right now. The American Hunter Association," Gilly paused, making up a false name for her imaginary association. "Feels so guilty about how many foxes they hunted down, so they've requested me to be in a pilot program where I..." Gilly struggled for the right word. "Breed foxes. Yes. Gilly Yamashita, secret fox breeder. I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone though." Gilly nodded to Konoka seriously, as if entrusting her with Masato's life.

Konoka nodded furiously. "Your secret is safe with me!" She grinned still attached to Setsuna, yet on her back so Setsuna could walk. "Though," She giggled. "It's hardly fair for you to keep such a cute little thing by yourself..." She stared at Masato, wanting to pet him. However, that would require her to leave Setsuna's back, thus making it a conundrum. Leave Set-chan, and pet the soft creature, or stay near the warm Set-chan and wonder how Masato feels. She choose the latter. "Oh, I forgot, I am Konoka Konoe," She said, bowing from Setsuna's back. "It's a pleasure to meet you Gilly-San, Masato-Kun..." She giggled. "Thank you for taking care of Set-Chan."

The group walked for a bit, and as they approached the restaurant, the poor waiter from earlier that day spotted Gilly and Masato, yelped a little, and ran inside.
"Ah, Konoka-san, I suppose you'll be joining us for dinner? We were on our way to dinner, before you..." Gilly stopped mid sentence, a look of curiosity and wonder coming over her childish face. "Wait. How'd you know Setsuna-san was with us? And here!" Gilly exclaimed, searching around her. Maybe this Konoka Konoe was more talented than Gilly thought! 'Maybe she's really a spy of some sort, using her gadgets to track down her beloved.' Gilly thought, examining the too-innocent looking Konoka.
While Gilly spoke, a new waiter appeared, a more grim, older, serious looking waiter than the other, childish waiter who'd disappeared. "A table for three?" The waiter asked in a bored voice, obviously annoyed that his position inside the restaurant had been replaced by the younger waiter.

Konoka was confused. "Because, Set-Chan introduced us, remember?" She asked, tilting her head. "Anyway, you all were together, should I not assume that you are with Set-chan?" She was smart, but still an airhead. She thought the question weird, but still didn't wonder why Gilly was so surprised about the answer. "Anyway I would love dinner!" She shouted, all the while on Set-Chan's back. She finally got off so they could eat. However, she made sure that when they were seated to get a spot next to Setsuna so she could talk to her about how she was doing and all that good stuff.

Sheldon appeared. He had followed the group for a while now. Boredom dictated it, however he was also interested in the girl's called Setsuna and Konoka. They were... interesting. Konoka had a massive amount of latent magical power surrounding her. Setsuna had a sword on her. They seemed to be a pair also. A pretty cute one. Setsuna in her naive embarrassment. Konoka in her innocence. He cleared his throat and came from behind. "Hello," He said bowing. "Mind if I sit with you?" Not waiting for an answer he scooted a chair over to sit next to them. "I'm Sheldon Happler, and I'm new here."

Gilly waved the question away, especially since a newcomer had joined them. The dinner party just kept getting bigger and bigger. Gilly was still confused as to how Konoka knew they were headed to this specific restaurant, Yggdrasil, but that was in the back of Gilly's mind now. Feeling bad for Masato, that now he couldn't really chat during the dinner, Gilly stroked her familiar, before addressing Sheldon.
A little annoyed he'd just scooted over, Gilly attempted a smile. "You're not Japanese, are you?" Gilly asked politely, noting his first and last name. "Gilly Yamashita. And this is my...pet." Gilly stumbled over the last bit, her tongue resisting the unflattering title of pet. "Masa-kun. It's nice to meet you, Happler-kun."

Masato smiled in amusement as Gilly and Konoka exchanged pleasantries before following them into Yggdrasil, wagging his tail and smiling as the staff at the door greeted them and his "favorite" waiter made a beeline for the back upon seeing him. An older waiter asked them if they wanted a table for three, but the waitress he recognized from behind the counter told him to make it for four while pointing at him, the silver-white fox and the fourth member of the group. The older waiter chuckled before politely seating them at a larger table and moving off to get their menus. Masato then picked a seat next to Gilly and jumped up before sitting down with his tail wrapped around his front legs.
If humans could smell, foxes could do it better. Foxes had a razor-sharp sense of smell and the smell of freshly-cooked food, meat, and pastries filled the air as several staff members placed a group of professors' orders on the table on the other side of the restaurant. It almost tickled him to smell it and he looked carefully at the professors and their food. Most of them were from Mahora while he could tell the rest were visiting from someplace else. Masato wondered what he and Gilly should get, but before he could decide on anything, they had company.
Masato's left ear twitched and he looked over to the newcomer. The newcomer introduced himself as Sheldon Happler and said he was new. Another magically-attuned individual. Interesting, but not surprising considering Mahora was like a magical Casablanca...minus the Nazis. Masato didn't know Happler, but regardless of any facts, he gestured silently with his paw, telling him to pull up a chair and sit with them. He was welcome among them so long as he didn't stir up a fuss and Gilly and the others were okay with him.

Sheldon laughed. "Ah no. I'm Russian. From Moscow to be precise." He said, his Japanese quite shaky. "Anyone here understand Russian?" He asked, looking around. "Anyone?" He then stared at Masato. "Interesting Pet you have there. If I can guess, is it a hunting dog?" He asked, though he knew otherwise. At least in Russia it was no hunting dog. Too small. Instead, he was thinking more along the lines of a lap dog or fox. Then again, it could be a wolf, he had heard stories about Japanese wolves being tiny. How this was yet another creature was expelling magical energy. Interesting. Seems like he found the jackpot of magical creatures in the area. However, shaking his head, he turned and smiled. "Ah, sorry if it was rude that I just joined. I just did it out of habit. In Russia customs are.... quite different." He nodded. "I believe that I would call you Gilly-San, no?" He asked, placing on a smile. This was just a little reminder for himself. He was busy practicing Japanese as much as he could. "So, you two are?" He asked Setsuna and Konoka, smiling softly. He was trying to be charming, but failing miserably at it.

Setsuna was just now starting to calm a bit more as she sat wit hteh group to dinner. "Nice to meet you, Happler-san." She said. "Setsuna Sakurazaki of 3-A." She said. She looked at Masato, then shook her head. "No, Masato-kun is simply...a rescued fox of Gilly-san's." She said, kind of going along with the odd story Gilly had managed to creatively create to say to Konoka.

Konoka smiled. "Yep! Isn't Masato-Kun cute?" She asked Sheldon. "I'm Konoka Konoe, Sheldon-Kun!" She exclaimed, extending her hand, her other hand slowly reaching over to pet Masato. Her eyes were on Setsuna, as if she was worried Setsuna would leave if she wasn't paying constant attention to Setsuna. "Isn't it nice though. That Gilly-Chan adopts foxes. Especially cute ones like Masa-Kun?" Konoka would think anything was cute, even if it was trying to eat her.

'Oh boy...' The "fox adopter" thought, grimacing a little. It seemed like Sheldon and Konoka were under the impression that Gilly was now a charitable, animal-loving, wild-animal adopter. 'I should have just said Masa-kun was a moving doll or something! Poor Masa-kun!' Although it was semi-true, that Gilly was providing shelter and food for the previous bandit, Gilly didn't feel like she was rescuing her beloved companion. If anything, she regarded him as her friend, one that had saved her life, and provided her with wisdom, and a big mass of soft fur to stroke.
"Ah, Russia? What brings you to Mahora, then?" Gilly asked, relating to Sheldon, as she was from out of the country as well, despite being born in Japan, she'd only returned recently, and still regarded New York as her home. "Just Gilly's fine, Happler-kun. Honorifics are so serious though! Especially "san"." Gilly commented, grinning. Even if it was the most common honorific, Gilly didn't like it, unless she had to use it. Especially not at dinner!
While the group chatted, Gilly opened up her menu, and slid it over a little for Masato to see, as one hand accompanied Konoka's in stroking and petting Masato's fur, occasionally gently, and playfully tugging at Masato's ears, and tickling under Masato's chin. He was just too soft and lovable to leave alone.

Masato sat down and smiled, acting as a living, breathing plush toy for Gilly and Konoka while wagging his tail happily. He liked being petted, tickled, and having his ears tugged at playfully, especially since he knew neither Gilly nor Konoka were prone to squee-induced madness. At least he was sure Gilly was not.
"Squee" as some people called it, was downright-dangerous to pets and led some pet owners to literally kill their pets with love (squeezing every last ounce of life out of them when they think they're just hugging them, playing "bagpipes" with their legs to the point that they become dislocated and break, petting them hard enough to scrape their fur off, suddenly biting them for some very odd psychotics reasons, etc). It was something Masato feared for good reason in his current form, but did not fear from his companions. Not at all. He trusted Gilly with his life and Konoka didn't show the slightest trace of malice. He'd also let Sheldon and Setsuna pet him if they wanted since he felt he could trust Setsuna and Sheldon seemed decent enough.
Gilly eventually showed him the menu and Masato pointed with his paw to the Bratwurst...a thick and juicy grilled sausage which came with some freshly-baked bread rolls, potato wedges, and cheese. German food was both delicious and heavy on the stomach and one was bound to sleep well after a full-sized meal at Yggdrasil. And for him, being a fox, that order was one such meal, and then some. The waiter from earlier soon came back with glasses of iced water for everyone and Masato wondered what his beloved owner, Gilly would get along with the others. It was also getting somewhat late, but Masato figured he could sneak all his companions past the campus prefects after they finished eating and back to the dorms without incident.

Seeing Masato's order, Gilly playfully pulled one side of his mouth back, revealing Masato's sharp teeth. "Bratwurst, huh? You sure like to eat a lot. This better be okay for your stomach, Masa-kun. I'm afraid my allowance doesn't account for foxes eating large amounts of foreign food." Gilly joked, but nodded briefly. "Waiter-san? Masa-kun is ready to order." She gestured to the silver fox sitting next to her, and perused the menu herself.
"I'll have the spargel, please. Thank you." Gilly smiled at the waiter, still full from her lunch at the same restaurant. Spargel was the German term for asparagus, white asparagus in this case, drizzled with Hollandaise sauce, and a heaping of potatoes, all garnished with a bit of cilantro. A light vegetable dish, yet still jam packed with flavor from the various seasonings and savory sauce that accompanied the spargel.
"Have you guys had German food before?" Gilly inquired, turning her attention to the group, who looked like they were still ordering. It was getting late, as the sky darkened, and the stars became a natural entertainment for the diners at Yggdrasil, and the lights at the base of the World Tree provided a perfect backdrop for a quiet, fall evening at Mahora. Luckily, Yggdrasil was open pretty late, although by now, many students had returned to their dorms. Gilly was a night owl though, and as much as she adored sleep, especially sleeping in on the weekends from classes in New York, she also enjoyed venturing out into the city at night, brightly lit, and vibrant with people, looking for eats, entertainment, and enjoyment.
