Arashe stood there, almost wondering just why he was there. Vaida began pacing back and forth and back and forth, but not really saying anything yet. And then, Arashe remembered why he even cared about the Guard to begin with! Back when he'd gone to Estarcia, he was thoroughly unimpressed with the Guard's archery division. Their leader was some woman named Needles, likely an alias of some sort. Why someone who was working for the castle had to use another name, Arashe didn't know, but the point still stood that he was not pleased with their performance. Honestly, he thought he could do better, so he decided to try out.
The man was in no way surprised to be climbing the ladders as quickly as he was. After all, what he gave in skill came hand-in-hand with both his sly tongue, great for the occasional bits of diplomacy, along with the noble air he couldn't stop carrying if he tried. As far as he was concerned, he simply exuded success. The other man, Arashe didn't know too much about. He knew that Valter came from another world, like he had, and that he rode a wyvern. But, he'd never really interacted with him or anything, so Arashe didn't quite know what to expect. He'd been a general in the past, though, so he couldn't be that bad.
And then, after a long and far too awkward silence, Vaida began to speak. And by speak, she was nearly shouting. Arashe still wasn't used to her tendency to be unnecessarily loud. But, it made it very easy for her to shout orders across a room, a battlefield, or whatever, even if she was on top of a wyvern. Arashe simply sat there, half tuning out what the woman was saying. Yes, he knew it wouldn't be easy to get the promotion he was offered. Yes, he'd heard that some people really didn't like Vaida for her temper. He honestly didn't care. Unlike Melethia the Swine, Vaida was loud but didn't do stupid or socially destructive things. Unlike Dietrich, she seemed to realize that she could do things to irritate the Ranger. So far, anyone he knew for anything negative managed to make Vaida seem perfectly normal and acceptable.
When she finished her speech and finally asked for questions, Arashe decided to test the waters. After all, if he'd be working under this woman, he'd need to know how to interact with her. "So, what do we do first? The man's tone wasn't exactly sarcastic, but more expectant. The sooner Vaida gave him whatever orders she had to give, he'd be off. There'd really be no point in beating around the bush, after all.

"You ask why do I not talk much?"_______←« _____ ←« ____ ←« ___ ←« __ ←« _____"...Because there is nothing to say."Rath ------------ "A fine question, soldier, but I actually have a question of my own." Rath entered into the barracks with Rei not far behind him. Their trip had not been long. However, outside, the sun was about to set. Their time traveling from place to place, time spent at the asylum, and time questioning Melethia had taken up most of the day. Rath was prepared to spend all night examining the bodies, if need be. He looked over to Vaida and took a few steps forward. "Sorry for the interruption. I'm here for the bodies. Can you bring me to them?"
Natrually, Rath and Rei were led to where the corpses were being kept. When Rath entered the room, he saw that they had been covered with sheets and placed upon tables. He turned back to Rei for a moment. "You don't don't have to come see... if you're not prepared for it, then I don't recommend it, anyway." The captain went further into the room and walked over to a cleared table, where he placed all of the evidence that had been collected at the asylum. He carefully separated them and gave them their own little sections of the table. However, he would delve into that evidence, later. Right now, the needed to be examined, and they were bound to tell a lot. In fact, they could tel the entire story. It was shame, really, that most people see a body and don't take into consideration that inspecting it could reveal valuable knowledge. Somebody finds a corpse in the lake and the cause of death is drowning, correct? Not if by inspecting the body it can be determined that the person was dead before entering the lake. Unfortunately, this was not a widely spread practice.
The captain moved to the first body. It was the first one recovered- the one that had been impaled. Rath pulled up the sheet as far as he needed to and looked to confirm what he had been told. Indeed, he saw that a hole big enough for a spear to pass through, shaft and all, was there, The way the flesh inside the wound was torn, it suggested that the weapon had come from behind at a fair altitude. The odd part was that usually spearheads would be wider than the shaft; this wound had almost a perfect roundness to it. "No... indications of a large spearhead. However, there was an edged blade that pierced through." Rath looked more and saw tearing of flesh that went the opposite way if its entrance. "...Removed very quickly."
He moved on to the next two bodies, and removed the sheets entirely except for over the head. These two were the ones not far from the impaled ones. They had deep cuts across their torsos. Rath leaned in and inspected further. The cuts that both soldiers had were deeper toward the center of the wound. "The cuts were made by an edged weapon. Since the wounds are identical, I believe it to be from the same weapon; possibly even the same weapon used on the first victim..." As he looked closer, he could see that the cuts were very clean inside. "...The strike was fast. The speed of it suggests that both victims were killed by the same slash."
Finally, Rath reached the third body. He had actually taken his time on the others, possibly taking a couple hours. (In other words he didn't fly through his examining the way I may have made it seem. That was just Rath's mindset. He was so focused on his task, the time flew by.) When he got to inspecting the last body, pulled off the sheet like he had done for the rest and leaned in. First, he examined the nonlethal wound on the front of the torso. Obviously, it was not as deep, but the cut was identical to the ones the other two victims received. "The same weapon was used to to engage this victim, as well..." Rath moved around to the other side of the table, so that he could get a better look at the corpse's left side. The size of the wound was no larger than a blade from a sword. It went deep into the guard's side, clearly the fatal blow. However, the cut inside went deeper, the further in one looked. It was the same type of blade used to make all the other wounds, even on the guard who had been impaled; the slicing inside of the wound had also gotten deeper, like the others.
Rath leaned back and thought for a while. "...We can establish that the same type of blade was used to make all the injuries." He glanced up and looked toward the first corpse. "...However, the one victim was clearly impaled by something with a long shaft, congruent with a lance-type..." Rath looked back over to the last victim. "...While another victim was killed by a long blade, different from a spearhead." Rath sighed. "In any case, we can eliminate axe-types, bow-types and knife-type weapons. We need to focus on sword-type and lance-type ones." Rath began to walk over to the table with the other evidence on it. "We can investigate into the murder weapon, later. For now, let's try to figure out what we have collected from the scene of the crime." Rath picked up the scale and held it up to the light. "I'm particularly interested in finding out what this scaled belongs to..."

xxxxx"If you're worried about surviving, xxxxxxxyou can worry about it after you're dead!" "The wyvern riders of Bern sit atop the heap of all other forces on the continent!" xxxxx "You will see our power soon!"
Before the commander could answer her new snobbish captain, she was interrupted by... what do you know, the captain, himself. She wasn't surprised to see him, exactly, but he had sure taken his time coming. "Well, well, it's about time you showed up, nomad. Those bodies were beginning to stink up the place. Yeah, yeah, I know, follow me." She turned to her captains. "Dismissed!" She then walked off to a back room, presuming that she was going to be followed.
Vaida stood at the doorway and watched them enter. She was surprised to see the boy, there. Actually, she had a hard time remembering his name, considering how much she didn't give a ********. And then she remember she didn't give a ********, so she stopped being surprised. Vaida turned to leave, but had one thing to say, before she did. "Nomad. If you need help, let me know. ...I want to find out who killed my men, too." With a swish of the cape, she took off down the hall. She didn't know what they were going to do with those bodies, but she also didn't care. If it helped them figure out who did it, then she was content.
After a while, Vaida came back to see how things were going. They had been back in the room for a while, how long did it take to find something out? It was a little frustrating. She entered the room to see the nomad holding something up and heard him say that he wondered what it was, as she walked over. A scale? Maybe she could help. "Let me see it." Whether she would have been given it willingly or not, Vaida took the scale and looked it over. "Hell, this is a wyvern's scale. A white one, which is kinda rare. You got this at the asylum? Let's see... who rides a white wyvern?" Mihira entered the room, slowly, and made her way over to Commander Vaida. She knew what was in that room. She saw the covered bodies being brought in, earlier that day. Seeing a dead body was one thing, but seeing a decomposing one was... just gross. She tried not to look, but couldn't help and caught a quickly glimpse. She shuddered and continued on.
"Um... I-I've got the reports you requested, Com.... mander...." She paused and glanced at everyone, noting the odd expressions on their faces. "...Did I... do something wrong...?"

"You ask why do I not talk much?"_______←« _____ ←« ____ ←« ___ ←« __ ←« _____"...Because there is nothing to say."Rath ------------ Rath looked at the female soldier for a moment. He only knew her because she was the scout that had brought the news about Neros' Tower. And by his memory, she did ride a white wyvern. However, it was... highly unlikely that she was the culprit. But that did not mean that she wasn't there. If the scale belonged to her wyvern, then questioning her could bring about new leads. Rath looked away from the girl and turned to Vaida. "...Check her wyvern. See if this scale belongs to it. Don't bother looking at the work logs. She went to Pentheus with Captain Deborah, but was sent back to give news to us. Theoretically, she had the time to be at the asylum... Keep her under watch." Rath knew that Vaida wouldn't be happy that one of her own was being investigated, but she would just have to understand that he had to do it.
As he turned around he saw, to his surprise, that Crow was kneeling at the doorway. "Crow. What is it? Do you have an update?"
The spy nodded once, but kept his head down, making sure not to look at anyone. "Yes, Captain. I have tracked the two escaped convicts to the forests around Fefga Manor. I believe they were hiding within the Eldir Mountains until recently. Their movements suggest that they are headed to the manor itself."
Rath glanced over at Rei, then back to his spy. "...I see. Hurry back to the manor and prepare some traps around it. I will be there, shortly." He turned around and faced the others, addressing both Vaida and Rei. "This is a job for the Watch, Commander, before you say anything. I will get them and go myself to Fefga Manor." He glanced to Rei. "It is not my desire for a child to accompany me in this, but I suspect nothing would deter you. Especially not, when the up-keepers of the manor that could be in danger are people you work with." He shut his eyes, then turned to leave, but stopped and faced Vaida directly once more. "I would like the Guard to work on finding out what weapon made the injuries on these victims. I leave that to you."
It was no surprise to see that Crow had left without being noticed. Rath left the room and hurried to the Watch House, where he rounded up every man he could get. By then, the sun was going down. The hunt for the convicts would have to be done in the dark. But the dark was probably what the convicts were waiting for. A while later, there was a knock on the door of Fefga Manor. Whoever opened it would see Rath, probably Rei, and multiple Watch members. "...Good evening. There is reason to believe that some escaped convicts are in the area. We'll be taking over this manor, as a base of operations. Your cooperation is appreciated. Do you understand?"

I ain't gonna give in, no matter how hard the fight before me looks to be!>x-{Leon}-x< Today, Leon could tell, was going to be a heck of a day. He was in his somewhat comfy (but not fancy) office signing the papers involving various business with different Watch members. Very swiftly, a certain assassin informed him that the Captain of FEF himself was calling for the Watch to take action on a case involving two escaped convicts. It was quite troubling to think that anyone could escape Watch custody, and also be on the loose with absolutely nothing to lose. It was an officer's duty to bring them back, lock them up, and throw away the key. And it was Leon's duty as a knight to stop them before they did anything that harmed his city's citizenry.
And so, he was off. A further briefing told him where the escaped cons were. They were in FEFGA's manor, a large house that was known for its supernatural qualities. Thinking of anything involving manors and a case gave Leon a chill due to some rather unpleasant memories of a madman. The normally upbeat, confident Watch officer chose to follow Rath silently on Anri to hide the nervousness his mind already gave him. Yet, as he was always told by his own Captain, Leon knew that he had to be prepared for anything and everything. There was no time like the present to put caution over cockiness. "Just stay calm, Leon. You've dealt with escaped convicts before, ya know what they're like, and what they're capable of..."
With the words within his mind calming him just a little, Leon dismounted Anri, stepping behind Rath and watching eagerly to see who, if anyone would answer the door. Who was keeping watch of this old house anyway? Rumors around the Watch House said that it was abandoned and maybe even haunted. Another shiver made its way down Lieutenant di Vatara's spine. If a ghost answered the door, he knew his cover of his own fear would be completely blown.
>≡{Watch Lieutenant}≡< If ya just believe, then even if the world is torn asunder, yer gonna seize victory!

"You can't blame yourself. Blaming yourself and falling into depression, it won't change anything. You have to look →forward→. Remember what you have here now. Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia}Life was actually less boring than Amelia thought it would be while not at work. True, raising a baby was more than enough to keep her hands full--washing clothes, feeding the baby, careful baths (so as to not frighten Aisen--he seemed to be convinced that getting his feet wet would cause him to drown, and only JUST enough Mommy cajoling would get him to calm down again), and much more--but even when she had a few minutes or even a few hours to herself, she still didn't miss the Watch nearly as much as she thought she might. Sometimes it was good, after a long day, to relax on the couch with some coffee and read a book.
It just so happened that caring for an infant was a different kind of hard work.
That particular evening, Amelia quietly worked at sharpening the blade of her lance. Aisen was comfortably napping nearby, and the sound of the whetstone over the blade was not enough to stir him from baby sleep. Even if she didn't get to use it much--even in training, much less actual combat--she didn't like the idea of being in the position where she couldn't use it. Always be prepared, right?
There was a sudden knocking, however, and Amelia's eyes lifted towards the front door. "Coming!" She set down the whetstone and cloth, then leaned the lance against the wall. Aisen stirred, but simply re-adjusted his position and continued to sleep.
The General padded over to the door in her socks, brushing her hair--growing longer than before, now reaching her shoulders--away from her face and opening the door wide. Unable to hide the surprise, she simply blinked and listened to Rath's explanation.
Escaped convicts? Since when? Amelia wordlessly nodded, getting her voice back as she stepped aside to let people in. "Ye...Yes. Of course. Just try to be quiet. Aisen's been napping and I'd rather him not wake up yet," she responded quietly. {Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Being a member of the holy order doesn't mean you can't put your own wants first sometimes. The goddess is supposed to be all‑forgiving, right? You've worked hard and you deserve to do some things that make you happy. I think she'd forgive you for it."

Rhys, meanwhile, was finally coming home after a long day.
If there WAS such a thing as a peaceful life in Learania, Rhys likely lived it. In the morning, he got up and went off to work in Eyris Hospital. In the evening, he went home, kicked off his boots, played with the baby (assuming Aisen was awake) or just relaxed. Sort of an "Up-Work-Home-TV-bed" routine, only without the TV bit. And if he read, the time usually at least partly involved the magic tomes--the last time he'd had a peaceful life (back in Tellius) he'd let himself slack off. Not this time! Not with a full-blown family to protect. There was reason now.
Shortly after everyone else had entered, the door opened again and the Bishop came in with that "Honey, I'm home~!" greeting married men throughout the universe have learned and somehow managed to convey to one another despite those pesky communication boundaries of language, time, and space. Only, y'know, quieter. If he awoke Aisen, he'd get such a scolding!
He paused. The Watchmen at the door hadn't moved against him or anything, but all eyes were on Rhys.
"...Ah. I... take it you lot aren't here for a friendly chat."

"You ask why do I not talk much?"_______←« _____ ←« ____ ←« ___ ←« __ ←« _____"...Because there is nothing to say."Rath ------------ "Then I suggest moving him to another room, Lady Amelia. We'll need this main area." Rath said, as he came in, passing her by without so much as a glance. The others began to follow him and some began to look around. "Place the torches down on a table, for now. Finish tying up the horses. I want everyone gathered together as soon as possible." Rath glanced back at Amelia for a second, then spoke generically to everyone again. "...Gather quietly. Try not to wake the baby."
Rath watched the Watch members go about their business at getting settled inside and everything else that was needed. The only distraction was when Rhys suddenly appeared. "Welcome home, Hostmaster." Rath said, as he turned to face Rhys. "Please come in and sit down. I'll explain in a moment."
A flash of black was caught in the corner of Rath's eye and he looked to see crow perched in the window. The spy spoke up without having to be called on, which would probably be a startle to most of the people in the room. "They haven't infiltrated the manor. There are no tracks from the forests on any side that lead to an entrance." Crow took out a parchment and laid it down on a counter. "I have set some traps and marked down their locations. I will continue to keep an eye out. Excuse me." Crow bowed his head, then swung himself out of the window, into the growing darkness.
The parchment was retrieved by the Captain, who then made his way over towards where everyone had gathered. He was no fan of wasting time and so he instantly began to speak. Those who didn't quiet down at first were hushed by glares. "Last autumn, Eyris was attacked by convicts who had escaped from the asylum. Most were dealt with, but some escaped. The two that have remained unaccounted for have been tracked down at last. They were hiding within the Eldir mountains, but have recently begun moving towards this manor. I believe that they intend on taking it. Needless to say, we will not allow that to happen and will catch them tonight." Rath handed off the parchment to somebody. "Look over this. Copy it down to something else if needed. It shows where traps have been made for these criminals." He looked over the group, counting in his head how many were there. "We will split up into small groups. Some of you will stay here with the guards, if the villains really do show themselves. Grab a torch, get a partner. And most importantly, stay alert- these two are not to be taken lightly. Is there any more information needed?"

The presence of Rath only confirmed Rhys' suspicions--yup, danger afoot. Although that didn't stop him from adding, "Use the DOOR next time" as Crow swung out from the window. Just because there was a small but potentially lethal crisis did NOT mean people could use whatever orifice they wished to come in and out of the house!
That didn't mean Rhys didn't hear a word Crow said, however. Haven't infiltrated? Traps? Oh boy. Just what were they dealing with, here? He paused to let Rath speak. Yes, yes, everyone knew about the asylum breakout... but apparently two convicts were still "out there", and both were headed this way. Both dangerous.
Oh, dear... catch them? Out in the dark wilderness? Either side could just as easily get the drop on the other. And I'd like to help, but... enter the family into the factor-- What if they get past me and everyone else, and it's just Amelia and the baby at home? And what if they're not so much intent on taking the manor as they are in, say, burning it? This was more than a little creepy. "I intend to stay here, but... do you know anything more about the two escaped convicts? Like weapon skills?"
Rhys would probably feel loads safer if both convicts used Flux and absolutely nothing else.

Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia}Amelia watched uncertainly as Rath entered, not seeming to care about the woman he was going past as everyone else came in. She brushed off her skirt and tank top in silence--the day had been rather hot, and even that night felt oppressively warm--but when he addressed them again in regards to Aisen, Amelia couldn't help but smile.
"Let me put him in another room. I'll be able to hear quite easily if he starts crying." Amelia carefully lifted up the crib, whispering something quietly to the baby as she carried him into a room just nearby. With the door open, she could linger in the open space leading to the hallway, being able to easily hear Rath's planning and keep an ear on her son.
Amelia folded her arms under her bust, letting Rath speak without interrupting him. Escaped convicts. Previously unaccounted for... well, that explains why he didn't notify us of this sooner, I suppose. Not that two convicts, no matter how strong, can overpower Rhys and myself, much less everyone here...
The General crossed the distance between herself and her husband, pausing only to take her spear back into her hand before wrapping her free arm around Rhys' waist. "I'm staying here, as well. I'm going to defend my own home from the inside, if you don't mind."
There wasn't going to be a discussion, no sir. It didn't matter to Amelia that Rath was the Captain, nope. Her infant son was in this house, and by the knights of Columbus she was going to stay and defend him, dammit. {Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... Rei, of course, continued this little adventure with Rath. However, he wasn't too keen on the addition of the Watch into the operation. Maybe the Captain was getting rusty from all that time doing paperwork, and he needed some people to watch his back in case things went sour. After all, escaped convicts may be something that Rath had no experience with, even though they'd be likely to come and attack with a simple weapon. And even then, if someone did get hurt, Rei was more than capable of healing them! Why would he want to involve more people, anyway? If it were only about four people rather than however many the Watch made the total, the convicts would probably be more willing to attack! Being outnumbered is a violence deterrent, after all...
But, he dismissed it, as things began to make themselves somewhat clearer. Rhys and Amelia had just had a child, so they could be very much against combat. And if Rath was as out of practice as Rei expected, maybe the extra muscle would be needed. Even then, how much could two people really do?
The Druid remained silent as that stealthy kid Crow managed to enter through a window. If he messed that up, he could have woken the baby, and then they'd be unable to get anything done. Again, Rei dismissed his distracting thoughts as he simply watched things unfold. Rath, the noble Sacaean Nomad, was setting up traps. The Druid only smiled, deciding to break his silence in case anyone thought odd of his facial expression.
"Rhys, I don't think we have to worry about that. We have you, Amelia, Rath, me, and these guys." Rei practically reeked of confidence, and it was well-founded. Just the four of them at their peak were enough to take out most foes, and with the Watch thrown in, two people wouldn't be an issue unless they were thirty-headed Manaketes! But, the Druid had a twinge of nervousness, as leaving the child alone, in a room, whether Amelia was nearby or not, with convicts allegedly about didn't make him feel too good. If they were fast and especially weird, they could even end up targeting the baby! And given the odd ways things worked, Rei wouldn't have been surprised. So, he decided to throw in his own failsafe, if only for the baby's sake. With a sigh, Rei muttered an incantation and almost instantly, a dark tendril silently crept from the shadows of the crib in the next room. If anyone tried to get in there, Rei would know. Sure, the spell might... make Amelia uncomfortable, given past circumstances but... Rei was at least showing he cared for the baby. He hoped she'd understand.
"So Rhys, Amelia, is the baby going to be a Bishop or a General?" he said, trying to draw attention away from the room with Aisen, as someone would likely have a heart attack at the dark tendril serving as the infant's watch dog. That would then likely wake the baby, who would see the Erebus construct, and then likely freak out on a level never before seen. But honestly, he was curious, as Amelia's sturdy armor combined with Rhys's magical defenses could make an extremely capable fighter, and seeing the parents, combat was in his blood, just like magic was in Rei's. Plus, knowing Amelia's sunny disposition and Rhys's tendency for being flashy, they could always give interestingly different responses...

Just think; if you hadn't come here, you wouldn't have met anyone here from Elibe or anywhere else!" {Amelia}Amelia slowly lapsed into thought, letting the muted activity wash over her. There were two convicts and plenty of Watch members to defend Fefga's manor. Even if Rhys and herself weren't there with Aisen, they might have still targeted it, what with it being a focal gathering spot for the guild. But if they had broken out and stayed under the radar so long, who was to say they couldn't still get in despite the traps? Amelia gripped the fabric of her skirt tightly, closing her eyes. She focused her hearing on the room nearby, listening for the shifting of fabric and Aisen's soft, breathy whines, the ones he let out before he began to cry. Already putting him in a different room seemed like a bad idea, he needed to stay with his parents, he--
"So Rhys, Amelia, is the baby going to be a Bishop or a General?"
Amelia flinched, but gave Rei a small smile. He was certainly acting more personable than he was before. "He's too young for us to tell quite yet. He isn't even six months old, Rei." she laughed sheepishly, smoothing out the now-wrinkled fabric of her skirt. "There's no way to tell before then. He could end up being non-combative entirely."
Amelia cast her eyes towards the window, peering out into the night with a faint expression of concern before looking back at Rei. "It's sort of a bad reason for you to be here, but it's nice to see you, you know. You don't visit all that much nowadays." {Graceful Spear} "What... I mean is... "You ask why do I not talk much?"_______←« _____ ←« ____ ←« ___ ←« __ ←« _____"...Because there is nothing to say."Rath ------------ Rath nodded at the spoken intentions that the hostmaster and hostmistriss gave. He had no issue with them staying. It would be better if they did, anyway. They were the unofficial upkeepers of the manor and could do the job better than soldiers. They also knew who else, beside their baby, was currently residing within the building for refuge, if there were any.
Before Rhys' question could be asked, the druid spoke up. He had been.. surprisingly quiet. Rath eyes the boy and noticed his mouth moving without recognizable utterances escaping from it. There was no explosion of any sort, so Rath let it go, but he knew that Rei had done something.
He spoke once more, a question Rath found to be foolish, and Amelia replied. "Yes Rei, perhaps it would be best if the child learned to talk first, before discussing what success he will make of his life." Rath glanced away. "That said, this is not the time for such conversations."
He looked to Rhys. "I do have some knowledge. Please listen carefully, everyone." Rath waited until everyone was looking at him before proceeding. "As you know, there are two of them. A male, known as Jasper, and a female, who calls herself Rad. Jasper uses a slingshot-like weapon where he shoots out strange stones of magic, that have varying effects. Never expect his move to be what you expect. Rad uses a metal bar of sorts that can also control magic, particularly through the wind element. Her demeanor will seem innocent, but do not let down your guard. I do not understand how their weapons work, but they are dangerously real." He narrowed his eyes. "Take neither of them lightly. And do not hold yourself to be above them. It will be your undoing."
There was a pause as people took in the information given about the escapees. Eventually, Rath broke the silence once more. "We go, now. Move." He turned to Rei. "Come with me, if you like, or if you prefer to talk to your companions, then stay here. It matters not." Rath turned and followed the Watch members out of the door.

"A Bishop or a General? Ha ha!" Rhys chuckled, and relaxed a bit. "No clue. Couldn't tell you." But though it was indeed far too early to determine Aisen's lot in life, Rhys too had wondered such things. His mother was a speedy General, and his father a Bishop hard to match in magical arts both offensive and defensive. Surely he will grow up a great young man, Rhys had mused in his spare time. But for now, we just need to concentrate on feeding him and changing his diapers.
Speaking of Aisen, how was he doing? Amelia had closed her eyes, probably listening intently to make sure Aisen wasn't crying. Making sure nothing was off.
Rhys paused.
I can't hear anything, he mused, But... I feel something off where she put the baby...
He frowned, and walked over towards the nearby room.
Yeah... I can feel it now. Some kind of magic energy in the room. Not moving, however, as in it isn't making a move toward the baby. It IS, however, near the crib...
Rhys peered around the corner, his eyes searching the floor for a moment before he let out a soft "Oh... just that." Fortunate for Rei that Rhys, familiar with magic and familiar with Erebus, spotted it first. He made a fluttering motion with his hand toward Rei, as if to say, "You can put it down now--I've got my eye on him".
But he added a small grin, as if to say, "But I do appreciate the gesture."
'Course, for all he knew, Rei might interpret him as saying both "GO AWAY" and "...But would you mind getting us a pizza?"

I ain't gonna give in, no matter how hard the fight before me looks to be!>x-{Leon}-x< The ones who answered the doors weren't ghosts, as a matter of fact, they were two faces that Leon was thankfully familiar with! He wanted to catch up with both Amelia and Rhys, for a number of reasons. First of all, he missed their wedding for goodness sake! What kind of a friend and superior officer was he to miss something so important to Amelia's life? Maybe if he spent less time buried in his records and more time living in the world outside writing, he wouldn't miss such festivities. But of course, now was not the time for lamenting.
"... er... 'Melia... Rhys... It's been a while, but I can't stay long. I'll be back when we've caught the escapees, ya know? Then we can catch up." The Lieutenant said in a calming voice to the couple whom were happy with their lives. He had to capture these two criminals if he was to keep them and their little one safe. Focus, solve the case quick, and return in one piece, those were all his objectives, and by the Great Hero, he'd meet them. There wasn't much else to say to Rhys and Amelia as long as he had those goals to meet, he had to get a move on if he was to stop the escaped convicts in their tracks as he hoped to.
So, he listened to Rath's briefing, taking in the information about those convicts intently. He had to admit, they had some rather... strange powers. Like all of Learania's previous enemies, carelessness was not an option. "I won't make that mistake." Leon thought with conviction. Rad and Jasper... he couldn't say he ever heard the names before. They must have been a case somebody else handled.
And then came the call to move. With a small wave back at Amelia and Rhys (and thus a promise to return), Leon followed the fast-paced guild Captain to wherever he was leading. All the while, he couldn't help but think that the boy who followed the nomadic leader was giving him the "look", but maybe it was just Lieutenant Vatara's imagination...
>≡{Watch Lieutenant}≡< If ya just believe, then even if the world is torn asunder, yer gonna seize victory!
