Baltrice is a red aligned planeswalker. She is a pyromancer who specializes in fire elementals. She was the loyal lieutenant of the artificer Tezzeret, working for the Infinite Consortium. She's at least 6 foot tall with broad shoulders and ash-grey hair and might have been of Gruul decent. She took an instant and intense dislike to Jace Beleren, and presented herself to be irrational and hot-headed. She briefly shows her good side when she lets Jace escape in return for having saved her life, but she shows her dark side when she repeatedly tortures Jace when he is imprisoned by Tezzeret. She is defeated by Liliana Vess and apparently killed.

Chandra Nalaar was born on an as of yet unnamed plane, with a "mother who was strict, father who was gentle, two sisters who she hated, and an older brother who she adored" in her own words. Her brother was killed in a war at some point. As she grew older, Chandra began to practice and play with her fire abilities, which came to her as naturally as breathing, more and more. However, on her home plane, fire magic was strictly banned, and her parents pursued many ends in an attempt to "cure" their daughter of her wild streak. Believing that "a husband and children would do her good," they planned to marry her to one of the local boys. In an attempt to scare off both her parents and her prospective husband, she set off a huge blast of fire that caught several of the village huts on fire, and then ran to the mountains. In her absence, the police of a temple on her plane rounded up the village, believing the people of the village to be a group of fire magic practicing rebels, as they did not believe that one person could cause such destruction. They placed the villagers into the burning huts where they were to be burned to death. Chandra returned in time to see her family burned, her mother crying for her daughters to be released, and fought against the soldiers until the entire village had burned to death, at which point she surrendered. She was forced onto her knees, head held back, and a blade swung to her throat, her punishment immediate execution.
Then her planeswalker spark ignited.
Sometime after the events in her past, while in a plane called Kephalai, Chandra stole a scroll from a museum. She was pursued by a Watch Commander, his men, and a pair of gargoyles. They attempted to execute her but she managed to get away using a large fire spell. Since no body was found, they considered the matter closed, but later investigations re-opened it.
Jace Beleren was assigned to track the scroll, and erase the memories of anyone who had read it. He managed to find Chandra on Regatha where she was spending her time with a couple of elder woman, and a boy named Brannon. In the fight Jace seemed to gain the upper hand, and left after completing his mission. However, Chandra had given the scroll to a group of scribes who were making copies of it before Jace arrived.
Chandra, had come to live at the Keral Keep monastery in an attempt to learn better self control and mastery of her powers. The monastery was founded ages ago around the beliefs of another fire wielding planeswalker, Jaya Ballard. Her quotes and teachings are the core of the Keep's beliefs, championing personal freedom and individual choice over all other things, as long as one was not infringing on another's rights.
Chandra became entangled in the politics of Regatha when the Order of Heliud begins a series of events put into place that had begun to enforce it's rule over the lands of Regatha, starting with the plains, then moving to the forests, and ideally to the mountains where Keral Keep rests. The Order declared that fire magic was to be punished by death in the cities, and creature summoning, traditionally a way to resolve disputes in the Western Woods, was illegal as well. With that in mind, the allies of Keral Keep in the woods sought to consult the monastery.
After attempting to chase away a specter that served the Order, she set fire to a large portion of the forest, and angered a tribe of ouphes who put a price on Chandra's head. The leader of the Order, Walbert, used this event, and an attack on his soldiers, as an opportunity to order Chandra's capture. Mother Luti, head of the Keral Keep mages, decided that because of the attention drawn to her, it would be a good time for Chandra to "disappear" for a while, and sent her on a quest to retrieve the scroll that Jace had retaken, stating that the true meaning of its words might not be in the words, but in some sort of physical attribute of the scroll itself. Heeding Mother Luti's request, Chandra once more 'walked to Kephalai.
Her attempt to retake the scroll failed, and her attack on a group of soldiers caused the entire Sanctum of Stars, a museum of artifacts and rarities of great power and value, to be completely destroyed, killing all those inside. During her flight, she encountered a man named Gideon who seemed at first to want to help her, but turned her over to the soldiers of Kephalai. After her captors tried to torture the location of the scroll, which she had lost during her flight, from her, she managed to escape from the dungeons of Kelaphai. Blindly 'walking to a plane ruled by a vampire and shrouded in eternal night. Much to her surprise, none other than Gideon arrived shortly after her. Eventually enlisting the help of Gideon himself she sought to find a way off of Diraden, whose only source of mana was black. During this time, Gideon reveals that the plane of origin of the scroll is none other than the mysterious plane of Zendikar, where he claims that mana and magic act in powerful, but erratic ways. Unfortunately for the pair, the inhabitants, though malnourished and horribly mistreated, had grown treacherous after years of exposure to the mana and they were both captured by the ruler himself, Prince Velrav. Chandra awoke in the Prince's private chambers, and she was shown the torture Gideon was undergoing. Eventually, she concocted a plan of escape with Gideon that culminated with the death of Velrav, freeing the plane from its eternal night and restoring the flow of mana. Together, they returned to Regatha.
Her return is not met with good news, though, as the plane had fallen further under the rule of the Order. Gideon reveals that he is an agent for the Order, which is a multiplanar organization, promising to bring "peace, order, and law" to the multiverse. After leaving him and getting to Keral Keep with the aid of an allies from the forest, the Keep is laid under siege until they would surrender her, which not a single one of the free-thinking fire mages were willing to do. The entirety of the Keep valued the idea of individual freedom to the point that they would not dare infringe on Chandra's even if it meant their own deaths. She eventually decided to turn herself over, expecting to encounter an execution.
What awaited her was far, far worse. Planning to use the Purifying Fire, an ancient artifact that "cleanses" a person's soul of their sins and imperfections, Walbert planned to strip Chandra of her fire magic, leaving her powerless, as an example to any who would dare stand against the Order. To Chandra, this fate was worse than death, and she asked Gideon to kill her rather than have her "humiliated and put on display." Before she was brought to the Fire, Gideon speaks with her, and claims that she may be able to keep her power if the Fire accepted her, if she entered it with a "clean soul." She tells him of her history and how her actions led to the death of her family in a painful fire and the destruction of her entire village, something she had been running from and that had been causing her nightmares ever since.
She declared that she doesn't know "what clean is, but I do feel better" after her confession. Walbert, on the way to the Fire, explains that he has seen Chandra in his visions, that she is a cataclysm that will bring an era of lawless madness to Regatha, which is why he aims to stop her, and secure his rule, believing that when a planeswalking fire mage is stripped of her power, the rest of the Keep will fall into place.
The Fire, however, accepts her as she enters it with a clean soul, removing all the wards and shields placed around her by Walbert. She faces her past, her mistakes and victories, her successes and failures, taking them all for what they are and nothing more, no longer running. When she emerged from the Fire, she feels infused with more focus than ever, and decimates the Order's forces around her, burning Walbert and many others to death and cracking the very foundations of the cavern. She is knocked out when the chamber around the Fire collapses.
Gideon wakes her up, harshly chastising her for leading to the deaths of all the members of the Order, yet she feels no remorse for taking down what they believed in. She decides to leave the plane of Regatha forever, and seek out the mystically powerful plane of Zendikar. Before she leaves, though, she tells Gideon a part of her story that she had held back the night before: that the soldiers that so brutally ordered the death of her village at the slightest false provocation belonged to an order that promised to bring "harmony, protection, and law," leaving him to ponder the revelation of his allegiances and what the Order he belongs to has done. She tells him that should anyone proclaiming the virtues of the Order (and by extension white magic) cross her path she would treat them as her enemies without remorse. With that, she leaves, seeking Zendikar.
Chandra arrived on Zendikar, at roughly three years since her quest began, and sought out a guide to the region of Akoum in the area of Affa Town. Her exact goal was to seek the assistance of the ruin sage Anowon, hoping that he could shed some light on finding the Eye of Ugin. After repeated failures on the part of her guides, and more than a few gold coins, she finally managed to track down the League of Anowon's current campsite high in the mountains. She confronted Anowon there and after a brief and tense exchange, Anowon agreed to lead her. Unfortunately, Anowon proved to be a backstabbing traitor. He attempted to kill her in her sleep, but she rebuffed his initial assault. Anowon ranted at Chandra and claimed that she has no right to the scroll he wanted and continued his attack as her magic gave out. Luckily for Chandra, Sarkhan Vol ambushed Anowon, rendering him unconscious with a swift strike to the head.
Though Sarkhan had saved Chandra, he threatens her for intruding into the Eye of Ugin. Chandra attempts to cast a spell, but it backfires, but is sufficient to impress Sarkhan. He leads her further into the Eye and begins to explain to her the nature of what she was searching for. It was not what she was expecting, and as she attempted to leave Sarkhan wheeled upon her, changing fully into a dragon. Left without her usual magic, she receieved assistant from the unexpected source of Jace Beleren. With his encouragement, she cast a fire spell that could not be seen. It was enough to down Sarkhan, and as a side effect, Jace as well.
She momentarily considered killing Jace simply because he continued to show up, but she instead woke him up. They had a brief exchange in which Jace questioned the motives of the mysterious individual who had told Chandra of the scroll to begin with. She ignored him and walked away, planning to exact some measure of vengeance on the person who had gotten her involved with the scroll.

Elspeth Tirel was born on a plane dominated by darkness. Much of her life prior to her ascension was spent as a prisoner along with many other beings. When her dark warden came for her, she responded instinctively with a powerful spell and walked away. She was only 13 at the time. She spent years seeking a place that was safe, suffering unknown hardships until finally she stumbled across Bant.
In Bant, Elspeth found everything that was missing from her life: community, love, and most importantly peace. She settled in the nation of Valeron and at 17 she began her training as a squire. In a short 3 years she was knighted, younger than most. Her fellow knights had no knowledge of her ability to planeswalk or of her origins. She kept the nature her origin and abilities secret and allayed any question concerning her birthplace, only admitting to not being from Valeron.
One day, two years after she had last used her abilities, her peaceful idyll was shattered when the broken body of a planeswalker crashed down near her outpost. With the help of Bant's balmgivers and Rhox monks, she nursed Ajani Goldmane back to health. Given his condition upon arrival, she thought she had found a kindred spirit and sought to convince him to stay upon Bant. Unfortunately, after a confrontation she was rudely proven wrong. Ajani left with only a dire warning to that their worlds were closer than she thought.
After this warning, her mind was continually troubled. Concerned with some of the distressing rumors she had heard, she went out with her squire Aran to search for evidence. At a Rhox monastery they found a Grixis incursion zone. The Conflux had begun for Elspeth. She rushed back to the castle she served and took part in a disastrous defense of her home. Aran fell to the enemy, and something in Elspeth finally broke. She cast aside all the rules of civil warfare that Bant cherished and unleashed her full powers, including bringing Aran back to life. All the members of the castle looked at her with newfound respect and admiration, but she felt as if she betrayed them and stripped herself of her sigils as a result.
Her rank was not so easily given up though. She led her platoon under the Knight-General Rafiq during the battles of Jhess to drive away the forces of Esper but was brought low by her own ally under the command of the Esper mages. As a result of her injuries, she was no longer allowed to fight on the front lines, but she sought some way to help. With that mind, she interrogated Gwafa Hazid in hopes of learning of who had manipulated the events behind the destruction of Giltspire Castle, which marked the start of the problems on Bant. With what she learned, she went to the assembled forces at the ruins of Giltspire Castle and assisted Rafiq in killing Malfegor.
Despite how hard she fought, her feelings had been inexorably changed. She was brutally reminded that Alara was not her world, and she had no right to the position they had asked of her. Worst of all, Bant had been changed forever and was no longer the place she cherished. With a heavy heart she planeswalked away.

Garruk Wildspeaker lived with his father, a taskmage named Raklan upon a farm. On his tenth birthday his father taught Garruk his first spell, but the day took a turn for the dark when a Sheriff from Lord Faldus came to conscript Garruk into Faldus's army. Raklan told Garruk to run, hide in the forest until he could tell him that it was safe to return. As Garruk fled the pursuit of soldiers over the next weeks, his father spoke to him through an artifact that he had given Garruk. He warned of the evils and deceptions of people, and instructed to Garruk to always listen to nature. While running through the wilds, he encountered a family of baloths, and calling upon nature's power, he subdued the mother Baloth.
Seven years passed. Garruk, having bound several large creatures sought the men who had killed his father. He rampaged through the town near his former home until the Sheriff confronted him, and after a short encounter Garruk murdered him. He took the Sheriff's helm and walked off back to the wilds.
While hunting, Garruk came into conflict with Liliana Vess. The ageless necromancer overpowered him with a surge of black magic that cursed him, warping his summoning powers and wracking his body. Desperate for a cure, Garruk planeswalked to a plane he had promised himself he would never visit again: the world-spanning metropolis of Ravnica. He confronted Jace Beleren and demands to know where Vess is. After a short conflict, Jace tells him her last known location, which he then sets off for.
Garruk apparently has spent some time on the plane of Zendikar, having hunted wurms and baloths in the Turntimbers of Murasa. Because of this, he was able to recognize the Scroll of Ugin Jace had in his possession after retrieving it from Chandra Nalaar.

Gideon Jura never knew his father, as he had left sometime before Gideon was born. He lived with his mother until her death while he was still a young man. With no better options, Gideon joined a gang, of which he soon became the defacto leader. With high ideals, he led the other boys to start stealing from the mansions of the rich, taking only what they needed to survive and giving the rest away to the poor.
Alas, he was caught and Gideon found himself in prison, one poorly suited to keeping him. With that in mind, the local constabulary found a man able to deal with Gideon. He took him from prison with the intention of rehabilitating Gideon by teaching him Hieromancy, the magic of order. After a few failed escape attempts on Gideon's part, he eventually settled in, finding the magic fascinating and enjoying the feeling of power he was cultivating. His teacher recognized something within him though and began teaching Gideon of planeswalkers, one of whom had been his teacher, and the man that had given him his sural. He also instilled in Gideon a warning against pyromancy, the form of magic that had killed his former master.
Gideon's spark ignited when he killed a much stronger opponent. The impossibility of his survival seemed so overwhelming that as Gideon tried to reconcile what he found, he achieved momentary enlightenment, a perfect perception of the entire multiverse, and slipped into the Blind Eternities. When he arrived in another world his sense of clarity quickly faded, and he returned to tell his teacher what had happened. His teacher revealed that he had been expecting it, having only ever seen one hieromancer as powerful as Gideon, the man who had taught him. He passed the sural onto Gideon that day, and Gideon left to try and find enlightenment once more.
Gideon had heard legends in the Order referencing the Purifying Fire on Regatha, a large naturally occurring fountain of white mana that takes the shape of fire. With interest, Gideon pursued this legend hoping to study it and was initially denied his request by the head of the Regathan Order, Walbert. Walbert finally acquiesced if Gideon would do him a favor and tasked Gideon with recovering the planeswalker known as Chandra Nalaar when she left the Keral Keep.
Gideon followed Chandra to Kephalai where he quickly found her, due to her cataclysmic theft of the Scroll of Ugin. This theft led to the complete destruction of the Sanctum of Stars and Gideon tracked Chandra down and attempted to assist her. Unfortunately, he wasn't the only being to have found her and in an attempt to save innocent lives, he incapacitated Chandra. Eventually he returned the scroll, having kept it in hopes that Chandra would not be executed until it was found, but with her escape, he found no reason to keep it.
Gideon once again tracked Chandra, landing on the plane of Diraden in Chandra's footsteps, much to the pyromancer's immense disbelief and fury. He quickly calmed her and suggested that they would accomplish more to escape the plane, which was dominated by black mana and endless night ruled by a Vampire prince, if they would work together. Chandra's last ally, a goblin named Jurl, chose that moment to attack them, and Gideon quickly subdued the being. With Jurl as their guide, Gideon and Chandra found their way to a village to speak with their wise woman, the menarch Falia. Falia appeared to be a child, but through the use of Blood Magic, had gained her wisdom from her mother, as well as slowed her aging considerably. Falia was instantly smitten by Gideon's good looks and secretly plotted to seperate Chandra from her accomplice. She sent Gideon on a hunting expedition and summoned the Fog Riders to abduct Chandra. Gideon showed up at an opportune moment and slayed one of the Fog Riders before they were both incapacitated.
While Prince Velrav treated Chandra to his own bedchambers, Gideon was handled with more ostentation for his part in the death of the Fog Rider. Gideon was tied to stakes in the courtyard with the understanding that any who should wish it were encouraged to feed from him. When Chandra awoke, she parlayed Velrav to treat Gideon with more mercy, which resulted in the planeswalker being moved into the dungeons below. Unfortunately, as part of the price paid to have Gideon moved, Chandra had told Velrav of planeswalkers, and Velrav believed he could harness Gideon's essence to become a planeswalker himself. During the ritual that was to attempt this though, Chandra beheaded the prince, and with his death the spell preventing them from planeswalking was lifted.
The pair returned to Regatha and sought the help of Chandra's woodland friend Samir Mia Kaulda. To Chandra's shock, Samir revealed that he had already met Gideon at the headquarters of the Order. Feeling betrayed, she left him to fend for himself and stormed back to Keral Keep. The Order had laid siege to the Keep though, with the simple ultimatum to hand over Chandra. When Chandra surrendered, she only requested that Gideon escort her to Walbert. When the walkers reached Walbert, he revealed that he planned to offer Chandra to the Purifying Fire, hoping she would be cleansed and left powerless as an example to any who would oppose him. Gideon felt immense guilt, not having known of Walbert's intentions and sought some way to help Chandra escape her fate. Finally, he found passages stating that if a person went into the fire with no regrets, that they may survive unharmed. Chandra confessed to Gideon of the accidental part she played in the death of her village and how it had haunted her ever since.
The Fire spared Chandra, and left her intact, and with great relish, she destroyed Walbert and his guards, cracking the foundations of the Fire's cavern and the temple above with the power of her fire magic. Gideon was the first to venture forth into the ruin and found Chandra passed out. He was aghast at what she had done, but swore he would cover for her if she left and never returned. Chandra revealed then that the soldiers that had killed her parents had the same ideals as the Order of Heliud, and it was in his best interest to consider his allegiances closely, stating that anyone who exemplified the Order's ideals was to be her enemy, even Gideon.
Gideon simply responded that they would meet again, and she vanished from Regatha.
Despite the way the pair parted, Gideon soon began to regret the feelings that they had been left with. With some anxiety, Gideon set his sights to the tempestous world of Zendikar.
Gideon tracked Chandra through the continent of Akoum, only to find her trail going cold in the mountains near the Eye of Ugin. Weary to his bones, he found the nearest settlement, Fort Keff, hoping to find some well earned rest for himself. Around the fire, Gideon heard tales, strange and disturbing tales, from an adventurer named Tafre. He warned that the land had been acting odd, becoming far more violent than it ever had been before. With nightmarish tales still swimming in his head, Gideon went to sleep to dream of Chandra surrounded in white flames.
His rest wasn't to last though, as a primal scream tore his sleep from him. A surrakar had wandered too close to the fort, and the adventurers dealt with it harshly. While it lay injured, Gideon went to it. The beast warned him of its gods who came from beyond the world, from the void with no color, who would devour all the life in their path. Among the assembled soldiers, only Gideon knew the true horrible scope of what the reptilian meant. All the next day, refugees poured in with tales of demon-insects. The tales were but the heralds of the terror to come, as the brood swarmed the fort later that day. Gideon fought bravely amongst the soldiers of Fort Keff and he alone turned the tide against the brood. A cry of celebration went up, until Emrakul darkened the skies. Gideon told all the beings of the fort to flee, to follow the surrakar to the underground rivers.
Left alone, Gideon simply stared at the titan before him, and desperately, he thought of a way to fight the creature before him. With hope in his heart, Gideon walked away to Ravnica to petition the help of a group of planeswalkers he had heard rumors about, presumably the Infinite Consortium.

Jace Beleren's unique gift of telepathy manifested very early in his life, oft times to his parent's immense embarassment. As such, his father sought the assistance of the local mage known as Alhammarret. Alhammarret took Jace from his father, and allowed him to apprentice underneath him, where Jace spent years learning new spells and talents, and most importantly, feeling welcome for the first time in years.
It was not to last though. Jace eventually became strong enough to try his talents against his master, and learned the shocking truth of his own existence. That his spark had ignited over a year ago, dipping him into the Blind Eternities only for a moment, and Alhammarret had lied to him about what had happened. His teacher told him his illusions had backfired and not to concern himself with it, and secretly told Jace's father about it. It was agreed they would not tell Jace.
Jace seethed over this news for days, holding his temper close to his heart until finally, during one of their practice sessions, Jace snapped. Jace slipped into his mind and unleashed all of his rage and pain at once, completely destroying Alhammarret's mind. Jace left, a wanted individual everywhere within a hundred miles of his hometown. Finally, Jace erased his own memories, so that he would never have to see his teacher's face again and feel the weight of what he had done.
Jace had taken up living on the city-plane of Ravnica. He lived in the upper echelons of society and made his money primarily through blackmail, using his telepathy to extort the secrets from the wealthy. While conducting some business, Jace was attacked by creatures summoned by members of the Infinite Consortium. After a small amount of background research, Jace confronted the Consortium's master Tezzeret and learned that the attacks were in fact an "invitation" for Jace to join Tezzeret's Infinite Consortium. With some hesitation, Jace agreed and began training with Tezzeret to hone his telepathy for the Consortium's use.
Jace was partnered with a blademaster by the name of Kallist, who by some coincidence looked remarkably like Jace. Together they begin to train each other in their own specialities between assignments. After a few years, Jace began to realize how badly the Consortium's attitudes have impacted him, and started to feel guilty, ironically, of not feeling guilty about some of the things he has done in the Consortium's name. Things began to come to a head when a mission to Kamigawa ends spectacularly with the massacre of a Nezumi village. In punishment, Tezzeret has Jace beaten for failing, though the mission failed through no fault of Jace's.
Shortly thereafter, an agent of Nicol Bolas, the original master of the Infinite Consortium and Tezzeret's main rival, contacts Tezzeret over a mining dispute on an unknown plane. Tezzeret schedules a meeting with the dragon on an arctic plane and brings Jace along to insure that Bolas does not probe Tezzeret's mind. Jace becomes distracted while the dragon converses with them both, and his defenses, which were untested to begin with, fail. After fleeing for his life with Tezzeret, Jace succumbs to frostbite and loses a toe. This is the least of his injuries though, as Tezzeret uses a manablade to torture Jace for having failed despite his inexperience and the vast difference of power that Bolas possessed.
Jace finally grows uneasy with Tezzeret's methods and lust for power, and after refusing a task which went against his very nature, he ultimately falls out of Tezzeret's graces. Jace takes Kallist with him and flees to the far reaches of Ravnica in hopes of escaping the Consortium's wrath. While trying to lay low, the pair run into the lovely necromancer Liliana Vess who flirts endlessly with both of them, finally settling into a torrid affair with Jace. Without Jace's knowledge, and a heavy heart, Liliana reveals where Jace and Kallist had settled to the Consortium. In a desperate attempt to save both their lives, Jace tries to absorb Kallist's mind and ends up switching bodies with the assassin.
Six months later, "Jace" in Kallist's body dies and his mind returns to its original body with extreme trauma to Jace's psyche. Liliana takes him away to recover and urges him to pursue Tezzeret for his part in Kallist's death. This results in Tezzeret and Jace scheming against each other, Tezzeret trying to kill Jace for his insubordination and impudence, and Jace just wanting to finally be free from Tezzeret and the Consortium. Jace turns to Nicol Bolas for help in locating Tezzeret's sanctum, and he and Liliana assault the artificer's base. Ultimately, the attack fails, Jace is captured, and Liliana's treachery comes to light. Tezzeret spends months constructing an artifact to control Jace's mind without damaging his abilities, all the while having Jace tortured. Liliana approaches the captured Jace and tries to make him understand the reasons she'd done the things she did. She genuinely cares for Jace and betrays Tezzeret helping to free Jace and together they once again attempt to destroy Tezzeret. Ultimately, the two duel resulting in Jace wiping out Tezzeret's mind leaving the consortium without a leader. Jace made a vow to himself to help Liliana in any way that he could.
It is later revealed that Jace, despite his hesitance, had taken over the Ravnican cell of the Infinite Consortium for lack of any better option at the time.
At some point during the period Jace worked for the Infinite Consortium, he was sent to track down and retrieve a scroll Chandra Nalaar stole from the Sanctum of Stars in Kephalai. However, his mission was to erase all memories of the scroll from the pyromancer, not just to return the scroll. He tracked her to the monastery of Keral Keep where he confronted the girl. After a short battle between them Jace completed his objective and planeswalked away.
Roughly three years after retrieving the Scroll of Ugin from Chandra, Jace's interest in it is once more piqued. With Garruk Wildspeaker's "assistance" Jace soon decodes the location the scroll maps out as being Zendikar. Shortly thereafter, he follows in Chandras footsteps, having hired a guide through the mountains of Akoum. Using his skill at illusion to keep himself safe, he and his guide soon encounters the bedraggled Anowon who attacks Jace and kills his treacherous guide. Subduing Anowon, Jace rips the information he seeks from Anowon's mind and then convinces Anowon to act as his guide to the Eye of Ugin.
Upon arriving, at the Eye, a wall slides down and seperates the two, with Anowon shouting warnings at Jace that fall on deaf ears. What Jace finds, much to his surprise, is an immense Dragon fighting Chandra, who is hard pressed to continue the fight. Jace immediately offers his help, but is stunned to find his spells malfunctioning and one of the Hedrons floating about the cave absorbing his magic. Acting upon intuition, Jace tells Chandra to try and generate fire that cannot be seen, and with it, she defeats Sarkhan Vol, knocking the entire group unconscious. Chandra is the first to awake and helps Jace to his feet before 'walking away, leaving Jace to ponder who had manipulated the two walkers into crossing each other's paths.
With Chandra gone, Jace has no reason to stay in the Eye. With his goal accomplished, albeit catastophically, he wanders the eye and ponders once more how all three walkers came to be in the same place at the appropriate time. Despite his ignorance of the plane and the Eye, Jace can't help but notice that something had been set in motion with his involvement. He resolves to inform the sages of Sea Gate at Halimar of this development, but before he can leave the labryinth, Anowon returns, demanding to know what had happened. Before Jace has a chance to answer, the vampire sage stalks off into the heart of the Eye muttering to himself. With no guide, Jace manages to find a nearby town and acquires a mount, wasting no time, he begins his trek back to the ship to finish his voyage. On the way, an enormous Eldrazi spawn attacks him, withering Jace's mount to naught but ash and leaving the mind mage unscathed. Jace arrives on the boat and continues on his way.
Two weeks later, Jace consuls an archivist at the Lighthouse at Halimar. He learns a bit about the Eldrazi, but feels no wiser for the knowledge. He recounts the events of his journey for her, and decides to search out where Chandra learned of the scroll. The merfolk archivist pleads with Jace to return if he learns anything, and Jace walks away acknowledging her wishes.

Liliana Vess is a human planeswalker who is adept at using black mana spells, especially necromancy. She's charismatic, witty, and attractive, but she makes certain to always look out for herself first. Though she appears to be in her 20s, she actually much older. Long ago she made a deal with four demons to secure her youth and power. Recently the consciousness of the demonic pact has slowly started to trouble her, and as she tries to figure out ways how to avoid the consequences of dealing with demons, her inner turmoil rises.
On Ravnica she was oft times freelance hire of The Infinite Consortium. She became acquainted with Jace Beleren whom she tracks down after his defection. She has a torrid affair and ultimately betrays Jace, maneuvering him to fight Tezzeret. Her actions were supported by Nicol Bolas, with whom she had made a bargain to free her of her demons in exchange for control over Tezzeret's usurped consortium. The deal amounted to naught in the end.
While tasked to search for a powerful veil shaped artifact from the ancient troll civilization of the Onnake, Liliana was attacked by a beast. She quickly dispatched it and went about her business. However, this act was enough to earn the ire of Garruk Wildspeaker. He assaulted her when she located the veil, and tracked her through the temple until ultimately he was dispatched by the veil-enhanced Liliana, who left him with an ominous challenge to find her.
Reveling in the power granted by the Veil, Liliana assaults a fortress on an unnamed plane and conquers it in short order. Sitting upon the throne, she realizes that the Demon Kothophed had sent her after the artifact and should have expected her to use it for herself. She then planeswalks to Kothophed's sanctuary and confronts him. A fight ensues after she refuses to relinquish the veil to the demon, and she blows him apart while his words echo in her mind. She collapses to her knees afterwards as the tatoos that Kothophed himself had given her began to bleed. (until "The Curse of the Chained Veil" is released, this is about all we have on miss Vess)

Nicol Bolas is a master of Black, Blue, and Red magic, and possesses a mind shattering touch that renders the victim mentally neutralized.
Thousands of years before the Brothers' War, the Elder Dragons were engaged in a conflict that tore across many planes. Nicol Bolas emerged victorious, though there were precious few other survivors, and during this time became a planeswalker.
Some thousands of years later, Bolas fought against a demonic leviathan in the first duel between planeswalkers on the still-young plane of Dominaria. The fight lasted a month, reduced Madara to a third of its original size, and created the first spacial rift. In the end the dragon used his touch to defeat his foe. After the battle Bolas feasted on the remains of the leviathan over the course of a year, absorbing its power in the process. When he finished, not much was left besides what eventually became known as the Talon Gates and an assortment of blubber. Bolas regards the Talon Gates as his finest trophy and visits them and Madara from as often as he can to relish his victory.
On Madara three mana lines, blue, black and red, intersected at a single point that was ideal for Bolas's purposes. Bolas slew the then Empress of Madara and erected his Imperial Shrine on focal point, from here, he reigned for 400 years as a god-emperor of Madara.
Unfortunately, Bolas created his own worst enemy in the form of his own Imperial Champion, Tetsuo Umezawa. After several trials, Tetsuo renounced his title and declared his intention to slay Bolas completely. Using the Meteor Hammer spell, Tetsuo destroyed Bolas's Imperial Shrine, while Bolas's body was inside, severing the elder dragon's anchor to Dominaria completely. The dragon had abandoned his body, unaware of the trap, and followed Tetsuo to the Meditation Plane, where he was killed by Umezawa in this weakened state. However a ghostly remnant of his life force still lingered in the rift by the coast.
Bolas remained present in his land when the time rifts became dire, presenting himself under the alias of Sensei Ryu. His lands were overrun by the nekoru and their followers. When he sensed that Teferi was lost in a rift and had become separated from his companions he arranged for them to arrive on the Madaran beach near the Talon Gates. Using Venser's latent planeswalker spark he was able to escape his prison and was reborn into the physical world. After Teferi located his companions, he challenged the dragon to a duel in an effort to stay Bolas's "gratitude." Bolas easily won, but Teferi shared his knowledge of the collapsing planes with Bolas and he was made aware of the severity of the rift problem. He left soon after swearing a vow to take terrible vengeance on anyone related to the Umezawa line, and anyone who had ever aided or come into contact with it, then left for Kamigawa.
Bolas later returned to Madara, where he was ambushed by the planeswalker Leshrac, who challenged him to a duel; the latter was defeated after an epic battle and was imprisoned in the mask of the Myojin of Night's Reach. It was implied by Bolas that he had stripped most of that spirit's dark powers but she had managed to escape.
Bolas then confessed to Teferi and his companions that he had observed the rift phenomenon and took responsibility for closing the Madaran rift, in a way. After Bolas used Leshrac's spark to close the rift, Bolas left for an unknown destination. Believing that it was unlikely Teferi and his band could forestall the imminent collapse of the multiverse, Bolas claimed that he had devised a plan to preserve himself in the event that happened. Although the multiverse survived, Jeska's Mending spell changed the nature of the planeswalker's spark. Bolas, like all other "old planeswalkers" who survived past the Mending, lost a significant portion of his powers. Still, he supposedly retains his formidable Elder Dragon powers.
After the Mending Bolas founded an interplanar consortium whose control was usurped by Tezzeret in a bloody coup d'état. He still retained his mind-reading ability and Tezzeret, fearful of his secrets, tried to counter it by using Jace Beleren. This ended in disaster as Bolas easily overwhelmed both planeswalkers mentally and Tezzeret and Jace barely escape with their lives fleeing from Bolas's hired barbarian horde.
Jace's struggle and his definitive battle with Tezzeret were all a plan Bolas agreed to in order to regain his consortium. Liliana Vess was the original architect of this plot and had approached Bolas with her plan. Although Bolas didn't regain control of the consortium he did regain Tezzeret, albeit broken and mindless.
Bolas had also conceived another plan on the Shard planes of Alara. Through the manipulation of the peoples of all five shards he planned to trigger full scale war across Alara, awakening the obelisks of mana on each of the shards and causing the Maelstrom at the Conflux epicenter to grow in magnitude. Over the course of the conflict he enlisted the servitude of Sarkhan Vol to help spread the seeds of destruction across Naya.
Ajani's quest to find his brother's killer eventually lead him into conflict with Nicol Bolas, and knowing that he could not defeat the dragon-god himself, he summoned the essence of Bolas' own soul to fight for him. The ersatz dragon battled Bolas in perfect symmetry, before they lunged at each other with powerful bites. Both connected simultaneously, and in a flash of light the dragons disappeared. It is unknown how badly hurt Bolas was, having harvested the essence of most of the Maelstrom immediately prior to this climactic battle, but at the very least it can be said that the threat that he posed to Alara is now gone.
He took an interest in the Eye of Ugin on Zendikar and left after studying it. Long afterwards, Bolas sent Vol to guard the Eye, to make sure nothing disturbed it.
Sarkhan was, however, misled. Bolas had at one point encountered and defeated Ugin, extracting a great deal of information about the Eldrazi and the lock that kept them contained. Knowing of the titans and what it would take to unleash them, Bolas sent Sarkhan to the Eye and manipulated the pyromancer Chandra Nalaar into arriving at the same time. Unfortunately, that only solved 2/3rds of the problem, and so Bolas gambled that Jace would show up if prodded in that direction. The ends to his manipulations seem clear, the release of the Eldrazi, but the purpose remains shrouded in mystery.

Nissa Revane is an elven planeswalker who wields green magic to muster her fellow elves and amplify their might. She is a proud nature-mage who believes that elves are the pinnacle race of the multiverse, and the Joraga are the greatest of them all.
Nissa was born in the jungles of Bala Ged and led an unremarkable childhood. That is, until her spark ignited while she was still very young. She thought nothing strange of her knowledge of the multiverse and was unabashedly curious. Unfortunately for the girl, her curiousity and behavior was anathema to the Joraga tribe to whom she had been born to. Cruelly, she was exiled from her tribe and left to the unforgiving mercies of the jungles. She lived a miserable life until finally she found a new Joraga tribe willing to take her in.
With her newfound second chance, Nissa rationalized that it was for the best that her gifts lay dormant. That it was much more fulfilling to fit in with her kinsmen than to explore her abilities. Soon after she joined her new tribe, she underwent the Joraga ceremony to become an adult, eating an extremely poisonous mushroom that would stop her heart and poison her blood against vampires. She lived and earned both her stem sword staff and a place amongst her people. She sought to live her life to exemplify the Joraga ways, and very quickly she gained recognition for her adherence to her people's culture. So great were her contributions that her tribe offered her the rites to become a leader of the Joraga Council. The rite would, unfortunately, once again send her away from her beloved lands, to live and learn amongst the other elven nations of Zendikar. Nissa chose to go further than that, and turned to the endless nations of the Blind Eternities.
Her planar travels took her to the sunny world of Lorwyn where elves thrived and ruled uncontested. There she met elves who fully embraced their role as the pinnacle of nature, using both life magic and its deadly shadow to assert their primacy. This encounter led Nissa to experiment with black mana on her own terms, in secret, using it to complement her own elvish teachings.
Eventually, Nissa's studies abroad settled to more mundane locations. Two encounters, one to a city plane that terrified her and the other to a metal world where she was taken prisoner, led her to cease her explorations and seek guidance in the Turntimber of Ondu. Here, she approached the Tajuru elves and petitioned to study with them. Speaker Sutina appointed her a Captain Leaftalker to a village north of the hometree of Mosscrack. She was met with suspicion and distrust, but she once again convinced herself she didn't care. However, there were bright sides to her time with the Tajuru. She befriended a man named Hiba and learned to enjoy music, a luxury she knew she would miss when she returned to the Joraga, who forbade such things.
Her peace was shattered when nearby villages began to go silent, and an emergency meeting was declared to determine the cause. They did not have to ponder long, as the Eldrazi brood attacked the meeting and killed Sutina shortly after it began. Left without their leader, Nissa took up the role Sutina had left for her and took her squad to investigate the nearest disapperances. It was to be a doomed mission though, costing Hiba and all but Nissa their lives. Nissa would fall to the brood herself, if not for the timely arrival of Sorin Markov. He liberated the vampiric slave Anowon and demanded that the two take him to the Eye of Ugin. Nissa agreed, if for nothing else to avoid facing the shame of having her squad wiped out.
Nissa and companions travelled to the nearby Graypelt Refuge to meet with another of Nissa's friends, a merfolk named Khalled, and gain supplies for their long journey to Akoum. Khalled gave them what support he could, including a piece of the puzzle tower Tal Terig so that they could find their way. The trio descended into the Makindi Trench and after avoiding The Roil several times, encountered an enormous band of Kor refugees. Shortly thereafter, they encountered a Kor of another kind. A babbling Kor woman travelling with a large group of goblins. Nissa and company shared their camp fire with the woman, who would only speak in bursts of ancient languages which fascinated both Sorin and Anowon. The Goblins told them that the woman was named Smara and that she was a "witch vessel" for a spirit trapped in a crystal she was carrying. They were also on their way to the Eye of Ugin, and Sorin suggested they travel together.
Eventually the mismatched group came to the Piston mountains and Zulaport beyond that. The trio decided to stay the night in Zulaport and find some way to cross the ocean in the morning, but a vampiric death attributed to their group led to them fleeing to the sea. Nissa stole a boat and summoned a massive behemoth to swim the ocean and pull the boat with it. The party soon regretted their hasty departure, as whatever food was on the boat was soon exhausted and the goblins travelling with them began to vanish one by one. Nissa could not sleep without allowing the behemoth to be dismissed and with no food or sleep, she was forced to repeat her hard learned Joraga fasting mantras to survive. During this time, Sorin finally told Nissa the nature of their mission as well as admitting to being a walker much like her. Sorin told her that the great gods of the past, and the progenitors of the brood, the Eldrazi Titans were bound beneath Tal Terig long ago, and it was his mission to make sure they stay that way. The next morning, they approached the beaches of Akoum.
It was a hazardous landing as the compatriots were to learn. The bays of Akoum were littered with shipwrecks and crystal reefs, but the greatest threat came from the Moon Kraken that ruled those waters. Brinelin demanded tribute from their boat, and Sorin casually killed one of the remaining goblins to satisfy the great creature. That tribute was found lacking, and Sorin had to reveal more of his true nature to the creature. Brinelin remembered Sorin, and was somewhat terrified to find him returned after so long, but would not let them pass. Since Sorin's intimidation had failed, Nissa gambled that her diplomacy might work. She spoke of Sutina, who had been friends with the kraken, and told Brinelin of her death. Greatly saddened by the news of his friend's death and discouraged by the return of the brood, Brinelin finally acquiesced to lead them safely through the crystal reefs.
The party soon approached Tal Terig, which was surrounded by brood, and found themselves captured by elves Nissa had never seen. They were the keepers of Ora Ondor and planned to sacrifice the group so that their sacred Kolya fruits would grow. In their madness, they had underestimated the brood, and Ora Ondor came under siege by the brood. Nissa and what remained of their party, now greatly diminished to a single goblin who travelled with Smara and the trio, escaped during the confusion and as they fled, Ora Ondor fell. The goblin, whose name was Mudheel agreed to lead them all to the Eye, for his knowledge of Akoum was better than that of Anowon, but without supplies the group soon fell to dire straits. They were saved, after finally collapsing in the wastelands, by a water scout who altruistically shared his spoils with the group. Anowon killed the man with Sorin's permission to satiate his hunger which left Nissa aghast. The small band became aware that they were being followed after this incident, and they were finally ambushed by an army of Nulls under the direction of two vampires later that night. Nissa fell during the combat, and awoke as a prisoner of the vampires. They told her that they were hunting the Mortifier, who Nissa mistakenly believed to be Anowon. They carried her for several days, all the while leaving Nissa wondering why they had left her alive, before her allies rescued her. When she tried to approach Anowon about what she had learned, he told her that she was mistaken and the true extent of Sorin's nature came to light.
Once the group arrived at the Eye of Ugin, Nissa's plans abruptly changed from what Sorin had expected. Instead of helping Sorin reinforce the spell containing the Eldrazi, she shattered the main Hedron and released the enchantment imprisoning the titans. Nissa thought the titans would flee, that they would leave Zendikar far behind them. She was wrong, and Sorin washed his hands of her and the entire plane, choosing to go about his own business once more since Nissa wouldn't heed his instructions.
Weeks later, Nissa returned to Bala Ged and appeared before the Joraga Council. She told them of what had transpired and swore to find Sorin, to drag him back to Zendikar to help with the Eldrazi menace. With that declaration, she stepped away from her beloved home and hoped there would be something to save when she returned.

Sarkhan Vol is a planeswalker who came from a plane scourged by war and controlled by constantly battling warlords. These warlords had a tradition of slaying dragons for sport and glory, driving them fully to extinction, much to the woe of the shamans of the plane who worshipped dragons as the pinnacle of predation. Early on in his life, Sarkhan was a soldier, but sought something more than the life of an expendable pawn. He joined a clan of shamans, where he found some level of peace, but quickly grew bitter because of the futility of worshipping a nigh-extinct beast. When he returned to the warrior life, he quickly rose in position and power until he came to claim the title general of one of the warlord's armies. Upon his first expedition, he was touched by an ancient dragon spirit in a trance after slaying the opposing commander. Sacrificing his own men, he unleashed a massive spell that wiped the battlefield clean as he ascended, channeling the power of the spirit he connected to. This was to be his first and last battle as a general, as he was stripped of his position, leaving no connection left to bind him to that plane.
Upon the plane of Jund, Sarkhan continued his quest to find a worthy dragon to whom he could pledge his loyalty. For two years, he searched and as such found himself under Mount Jhal standing in the path of Kresh and Rakka Mar in their fight against the hellkite Malactoth. He assisted them in vanquishing the dragon, unknowingly assisting Rakka in her secret mission. Buried in the cavern, Kresh glimpsed the Obelisk of Jund before everything went black.
Days later, after having escaped the collapsed cavern with Rakka's help, Sarkhan encountered the newly ascended Ajani and sent away the dragon Karrthus. He explained to the leonin what he now was, as well as the fury of red mana and the merits of vengeance. Taking wing, Sarkhan left Ajani to his own devices and sought out revenge against Rakka Mar for her part in what happened in Malactoth's cavern. Eventually he did indeed find her, but she presented him with a unique oppurtunity to meet her master and led him to a mountain rife with goblins. Atop this mountain, he met Nicol Bolas and stood in awe of the dragon's power, though his methods were a far cry removed from what he knew of dragons. Upon that spot Sarkhan swore his allegiance to Bolas and exchanged blood with the dragon, gaining more power than he had imagined from the transfusion. He was given the task of activating the Obelisk of Esper.
As a reward for that task, Bolas presented Sarkhan with a flight of 5 dragons, one of which was the brainwashed Karrthus. At this point, Sarkhan began to doubt his allegiance to Bolas, but followed through with the next step of Bolas's plan: to goad Naya to war with Jund. He came into conflict with Mayael the Anima's armies of behemoth and arrived in time to see Bolas absorb the mana of the Maelstrom and be defeated by a duplicate avatar of himself. Seeing his master defeated caused something within Sarkhan to snap, and his mind started to unravel.
Sarkhan later found himself sent to Zendikar to guard the Eye of Ugin. While in the tunnels and caves, he reminisced about his time as a soldier and talked to himself, wondering about his purpose and what fortune has in store for him. Very specifically, he wonders if he is being punished by Bolas for some failure on his part. Throughout his time in the Eye, he seemed to be in a hallucinatory state, but eventually he became lucid in time to save Chandra Nalaar from an attack by the vampire ruin sage named Anowon.
He proceeds to threaten Chandra before she detonates a spell next to him, though it fails catastrophically he is impressed with its power. He leads Chandra deeper into the heart of the Eye, explaining what it was and finally revealing his true agenda as he speaks to whatever voice he had been speaking to in his previous delusional state. He warps himself fully into a dragon and attacks Chandra intending to sacrifice her to the voices. His plan is foiled by the sudden appearance of Jace Beleren, who had no clue that Sarkhan was anything more than a dragon. The confluence of these three triggers a reaction from one of the Hedrons that begins to absorb their magic, and when Chandra discovers Ugin's invisible fire with the help of Jace and uses it to defeat Sarkhan, the last lock of the Eldrazi confinement spell is opened. Chandra leaves hurriedly and so does Jace after making sure the unconscious Sarkhan, back to his human form, was alive.
Sarkhan wakes alone in the chamber and reflects upon his defeat while making his way to the top of the mountain where the Eye of Ugin lays. There he finds the rotting corpse of a dragon that a group of eldrazi spawns are being birthed from. Sarkhan, enraged at the scene, fulminates the spawn and bids peace to the corpse of the dragon. However, the spirit of the fallen dragon appears and taunts Sarkhan with threats of the punishment Bolas will inflict upon him for having failed his mission. Sarkhan cannot decipher, and does not seem to care, if the dragon is a hallucination of his own mind or the remnants of the fallen beast. Sarkhan goes back into the Eye of Ugin to try to find a way to restore it only to begin wondering if Bolas's secret purpose was for him to activate it all along, as he realizes that the confluence of planeswalkers was what triggered the Eye. Returning to the central hedron, he remembers that as he battled Chandra while in dragon form he could read the runes in the hedrons. Filled with new resolve he returns to his complete dragon form and blasts the taunting dragon spirit. Sarkhan breaks off a large chunk of the floating hedron and 'walks away to meet his master.
The shaman arrives upon Bolas's Meditation Realm and hopes to leave his hedron prize unnoticed. Minions, tiny impish effigies of Bolas, appear around Sarkhan and taunt him until Sarkhan is forced to meet his lord. As he traverses the strange landscape Bolas speaks in his mind, debriefing him and learning the true extent of the events that transpired on Zendikar. Finally, Sarkhan arrives at the heart of Bolas's power, a massive floating Keep. The shaman calls upon his wings once again and bows to his master, hoping to deliver his trophy and be done with his punishment. Sarkhan waits in vain as Bolas reveals it was his intention to spring the Eldrazi all along, having manipulated events to unlock Ugin's work. Further, Bolas claims to have dealt with Ugin much to Sarkhan's surprise. When it finally becomes clear that Bolas has no plans to harm Sarkhan at the moment, the dragon dismisses his pawn, showing Sarkahn the twisted form of Tezzeret with a smile.

Sorin Markov is a vampire planeswalker and a master of sangromancy, a dark corner of black mana specialization. With this blood magic he can drain the lifeforce of other beings, place curses on enemies, and even possess the minds of others. Sorin Markov is the oldest living planeswalker except Nicol Bolas, though unlike Bolas he has dedicated his existence to following his whims, and this easy life of pleasure has brought him detachment and easy confidence. Having seen hundreds of planes over thousands of years, he has become a sort of bon vivant, seeking novelty and new diversions. But despite his fundamentally hedonistic nature, Sorin does feel the pull of more lasting concerns, and over his long life this tendency has resulted in an arcane schedule of engagements and forays to far-flung planes. As a result Sorin is a busy man, planeswalking frequently to pursue concerns known only to him. Sorin always seems to have business elsewhere. Contents
One such concern was that of the Eldrazi. Aether-born monstrosities that consumed one plane after another, Sorin decided to ally with two other planeswalkers and defeat these abominations. One planeswalker, an unnamed lithomancer would force the Eldrazi to take physical form, Sorin would use his life leeching magic and the dragon planeswalker Ugin would defeat them with his invisible breath. But the plan went awry: the Eldrazi were forced into physical form, but the three planeswalkers weren't powerful enough to defeat them. The three were forced to comprimise, instead of killing the Eldrazi Sorin lured them onto Zendikar where they imprisoned them, dooming the plane and it's inhabitants but saving the multiverse. The three agreed that if the results of their ritual were ever to be disturbed, all three would return to Zendikar, and they departed. Some centuries later the Eldrazi managed to free themselves from their prison, but not from their physical form, and unable to depart they started to consume Zendikar. Sorin and his allies returned to Zendikar and imprisoned them once more.
After millennia the Eldrazi grew restless once more, and Sorin returned to Zendikar as per their agreement. However his fellow planeswalkers hadn't yet shown themselves. Ugin was captured or killed at the hands of Nicol Bolas, who stated that he would wait to see who would answer the call of Ugin after the Eldrazi Brood were freed by Sarkhan Vol, Jace Beleren and Chandra Nalaar. Sorin is forced into action and allies himself with Nissa Revane, an elf planeswalker who wants these monsters off of her home plane.

Tezzeret is a male human planeswalker from the shard of Esper.Tezzeret has a very explosive temper, with frequent violent outbursts and unscrupulous nature. His primal driving force is a lust for power and knowledge and he is prone to punish people who failed him in severe and often brutal ways, or kill them outright if he does not need them.
Born in Tidehollow, he specializes in artifice and mental magic. He joined the academy of the Seekers of Carmot at a very young age when he showed a great deal of promise, but as he aged, his potential largely went undeveloped. He eventually joined the sect who were said to possess the Codex Etherium, a sacred tome containing Crucius's teachings. He joined in hopes of seeing the Tome and inheriting its secrets.
After being defeated in a duel with Silas Renn, his powers were considered substandard and not worthy to join the ranks of the Seekers. His father offered him no support, wishing his son would give up his stareyed dreams, but Tezzeret was adamant. He went to the academy later that night seeking to clarify the quality of his performance to the headmaster, but learned he was to be expelled instead, partially owing to his lowly birth. In an effort to cover his expulsion, he murdered the headmaster and continued his training unabated.
Several years passed, and Tezzeret was still dismissed by his peers. His grisly act had never been discovered, and yet he was still looked down upon. Right after Renn gained a heart of new etherium to prove his membership within the Seekers, Tezzeret had enough. He broke into the vault to access the Codex Etherium for himself. The Codex proved to be a fraud: its pages blank. His trespass was not ignored this time, and the artificer was caught by the guards who brutally beat him and attempted to kill him, accidentally triggering his spark in the act. Tezzeret planeswalked wildly, falling through the Blind Eternities without guidance. Immediately afterwards, he awoke to find himself on Grixis not knowing how he got there or why.
Miraculously, he managed to survive the hardships and attacks from Grixian monsters in his condition, and reached Nicol Bolas, who promised him power in exchange of servitude.
Later, Tezzeret had secretly built his own structure of agents inside Bolas's Infinite Consortium. In one fell swoop, he orchestrated the assassination of all high-positioned cell leaders who were directly subordinated only to Bolas, replaced them with his own people and effectively took over the Consortium leadership.
On Ravnica Tezzeret sought out Jace Beleren to join the Consortium. After investing a great deal of time and training into Jace, Tezzeret revealed that Jace had been groomed to be Tezzeret's ace against Nicol Bolas who possessed an enormous grudge due to Tezzeret's betrayal. Tezzeret, however, viewed Bolas as the betrayer as he had learned that Bolas was the secret master of the Seekers that had lied to all of Esper and shunned him so long ago. Tezzeret had acquired Jace because of his unique telepathy and used him to ensure that none of Bolas's agents infiltrated the organization.
When Tezzeret and Bolas became directly conflicted over the mineral rights to a specific mountain range on an unknown plane, Tezzeret sought to confront Bolas personally and negotiate the issue. He took Jace along with the hopes that Jace could protect him from Bolas, who Tezzeret feared had telepathic abilities of his own. Tezzeret's plan fell short though, as Bolas swept Jace's defenses aside and plumbed Tezzeret's mind for whatever secrets he could find. Tezzeret was shocked, but confident that Bolas would still be unable to harm them. Unfortunately for the duo, Bolas had planned ahead. He betrayed each of them, having hired a troop barbarian mercenaries to hunt the pair. They escaped with their lives, but just barely.
Tezzeret levels an ultimatum at Jace after this failure, and when Jace willfully fails the next mission, Tezzeret begins to seek Jace's death, seeing it as an enormous betrayal of Tezzeret's investment. He spends upwards of 6 months tracking Jace, thirsting for his blood after Jace flees the Consortium. Eventually, Tezzeret and Jace are pitted against each other due to the manipulations of a third party and Tezzeret's sanctum is invaded by Jace and his lover, Liliana Vess. Tezzeret captures Jace and proceeds to allow his second in command Baltrice to torture Jace while Tezzeret works on a device that will turn Jace into a puppet. Jace breaks free of his prison though, and attacks Tezzeret once more. Tezzeret loses this duel against Jace when they planeswalk to Kamigawa and his mind is utterly obliterated. Further, he loses his etherium arm after Jace amputates it with his manablade, a blade stolen from the artificer in the first place, in order to access the absorbed mana stored in the arm. Nicol Bolas reveals that pitting Jace against Tezzeret had been Liliana Vess's plan all along, and Bolas had agreed in order to regain control of the Consortium. Bolas keeps Tezzeret, or at least his mangled and mindless body in his keep in the Meditation Plane, supposedly restoring him.

Teifling Baltrice is a red aligned planeswalker. She is defeated by Liliana Vess and apparently killed. um...... i read the test of metal book and apparently shes still alive

Just for your data list.
