Gabriel sighed and looked down. "Try not to take this too hard...but I ran into Dev and I remember him having a rather large vampire bite on his neck. He looked like he was very upset...especially at having run into me..."
He leaned forward a bit, "It honestly looked like he had a 'thing' for the vampire and he was mad that he wanted me instead...but then we got to talking about you..."

Devan closed his eyes for a moment as he took it in. Dev...how could you do that...? he killed Krad...why do you have to do this to me...? Youre all I have left... He opened his eyes again to look at Gabriel. "what about me?"

"He was just sad that you were miserable all the time...and he wanted to do something to help," he scratched the back of his head. "Was there anything else?"

Gabriel was shocked and angered, "H-How could you say that!? He's just a boy! He doesn't know what he's doing! And for all we know he could have been seduced by the vampire. The vampire could have been wanting to turn you two against each other! You're father and son. You should both care for each other and try to discover the problem instead of abandoning each other...You know what!? I bet Dev is out there alone somewhere doing his best to try and help you!"
Gabriel sighed heavily. "And it didn't look to me like he was enjoying anything. He was angry and bitter and every word he said was full of malice...until the end when he talked about trying to help you."

He just looked at Gabe for a moment then sighed. "I guess its good I had to get rid of the other kids. Im a really bad father...and I know you agree with me on that. Years ago...before Dev was born...didnt you tell me youd kill me or something if I didnt do a good job?"

Gabriel groaned and ruffled Devan's hair. "I still can't believe you're a father..."
"Yes, and I'll still do it if you don't shape up! The most important thing to a son is a good father," he thought about his father, "My father always loved me and treated me well even if my stepmother and every other nobleman in town thought I was a disgrace and a shame to rich snobs everywhere..."
He laughed softly.

Something suddenly came over Devan which he couldnt explain. He slowly looked to the side and narrowed his eyes. "I want to kill him..." he said quietly.

Gabriel paced a little, "Fine! Do what you want. You're the responsible parent!"

Devan looked at Gabriel for a moment. "Im going to kill my son and then Im going to kill myself...my family can be back together...Me...Dev...Krad...my parents...We'll all be back together."

Devan gave off a twisted smile. "I'll miss you too gabriel." he said sarcastically then turned and started away, out to find his son to kill.

"Buenas noches, mi amigo..." Gabriel yawned and walked back to his and Damien's room. He jumped into bed and sunk into the comfortable sheets. He sighed happily as the familiar scent of their bed reached his senses. His eyelids felt heavy and they closed slowly. "It's not fair is it? I'm always so happy no matter what happens and my life is so wonderful...it's just not fair...My love is slaying a vampire for me. That's love. He better come back soon..."
"Damien....." he whispered.
