Rei continued to eat his salad, much slower then the other two were eating theirs. He didn't understand why Niccele put something on hers. It no doubt distorted the taste. But maybe that was the point. He picked at his plain salad and smiled up at her shyly. He looked happy. He looked like a child who was simply unsocialized. He was a sweet boy really, his mother had always told him that. He kept an eye on Rex as he nibbled through the cheese. He continued to smile shyly and looked back down at his food, lifting another bit of lettuce to his lips and nipping at it happily. He put the rest of the leaf in his mouth and chewed quietly. He watched as Lorcan finished his salad and started on the burger. Rei made a bit of a face and looked back down. He didn't even like the taste of meat. He hoped the others could help him with that. Because if he was left to himself to try and figure out what he could and couldn't eat. It would simply end with him trying everything and seeing what made him sick and what didn't. Which meant he could easily get poisoned. Certain foods would poison him. Much the same as they would poison a horse. Certain greens would upset his stomach, certain treats. Stuff like that. He picked up another piece and continued eating smiling softly to himself. Glancing at Niccele's he nodded again. "Good" He nodded confirming that he liked it.

Rei tilted his head. Again this whole table thing seemed weird to him. He was so unused to this. But at least his stomach was filled now that he was done his plate, and he wouldn't have to worry about stealing food. that was always hard to do. He looked up at the others and smiled at the two of them. Though still he seemed shy. He looked a good bit more settled and comfortable though and that was a good sign. He didn't like being nervous. It was bad for him and he knew it. He could feel it choking him when he was suffering from being nervous and he hated it. he also disliked becoming 'spooked'. Because it took him a long time afterwards to calm down. He pushed his plate away a little and looked over at the others to see if they were allowed to get up and go. He wondered what now really. He wasn't feeling sleepy yet. He knew he would be soon but he had a good hour before he would be sleepy. Rex finally finished his own meal and scurried back over to Rei, climbing up his arm and onto his shoulder. Rei smiled and scratched the small rat fondly.

Rei was petting Rex watching Niccele closely. He wondered why she was giving him so much space. And just leaving him be really. He didn't mind so much. He felt more comfortable this way. He watched as the other stood up and asked him a question. He tilted his head. "Game?" He asked wondering he didn't know what to do. He really didn't. He wasn't used to playing with others. He wasn't used to other people. So he didn't know what to do really. He had to work at it. Had to work at getting to know everyone. He was glad though that the other had brought him here. That he hadn't had socialization, and therefore wasn't good with other people. He slowly slipped off his chair and got up.

Rei looked at the other as he seemed to think a bit. he tilted his head his ears perking as he listened for what the other was going to say. He glanced at Niccele again, looking at her shyly. He looked back at the other boy, his face brightened at the other's words. He nodded bounding after him to go see what else the other had created. He skidded to a stop when the other stopped, standing right beside him smiling back at the other. His ears up and perked making him look like he was excited which truthfully he was. All of this was new to him but he liked having a friend. Rex clung to his shirt lightly balancing nicely and not falling off. He knew Rei too well for that. He nuzzled into the young boy's neck, his nose twitching. Rei followed after the other a bit more slowly as they headed up the stairs and to the other's room. He thought it was so cool that the other could make little creatures.

Rei was excited he was happy too. He liked having a friend. He liked having a companion who he could talk to. He had talked to Rex from time to time but really the rat wasn't very good at holding a conversation with. He closed the door once he was in the room and turned back to Lorcan, wandering over to where the other boy was standing and peering curiously into the cubby shelf 'rooms'. His ears twitched as they came even further forward in amazement and interest. He glanced at the other boy again "Cool." He murmured as he looked into the cubby shelf 'rooms'. He crouched down staring in. He looked rather amazed but he had had the same look when the other had told him that he had created Aira too. He was intrigued by the other's abilities. It was amazing to him.

(( It's alright I understand. I'm going to bed now though. I'm in pain and a bit sick... and Having trouble just thinking straight without my pain medication. So uh... yeah. Night night. ^^ good luck with your English work.))

It didn't matter what time of day it was, the warehouse was always dark, and pretty dingy looking. The inside was mostly unused, just full of old broken and empty crates. In the center of the expansive room however a small set of bleachers, and a surprisingly well constructed pit ring had been put up, and currently a man that looked like an ex body builder was hammering away at what looked strangely like a winged girl.

The girl never threw a punch at the man for the first minute of the fight, which had most of the crowd booing them both, since the man wasn't playing fair as was. He had ripped a piece of bench off and was using it like a baseball bat, to limited effect.

Telia slammed into the wall hard enough to dent it with her back scales, and she wiped a trickle of blood off of the right side of her mouth. The man laughed at her and swung again. This time, she ducked and rolled forward as the makeshift weapon whistled by overhead.

Her roll brought her within arm's reach of the huge man, and she immediately hit him in the knee with a punch. There was a cracking noise, and the man dropped to the ground, howling in pain. The crowd was silent as the girl walked around her opponent, waiting for him to get up.

He once again tried to make a clumsy swing for Telia's head, and she easily ducked under it and drove her elbow into his sternum, again with the resounding crack of broken bone. He clutched his chest with one hand, and then pulled a knife hidden in his boot, swinging with the intent to slit the girl's throat.

She made no move to block the knife, and it simply slid over her hide, not even marking it. Using on hand to push on her other hand, she again drove her elbow into him, but this time she hit him in the face, nearly destroying it with the vicious blow.

The man collapsed to the ground in a heap, and the crowd cheered like rabid animals, their champion having once again defeated the challenger that had taken the rest of the crew out. Money quickly changed hands, with some extra lifted from the injured mans' belongings, and the girl quickly disappeared into the shadows of the warehouse.

She wiped the blood off of herself with a towel in a corner, her tattered shirt and shorts spotted similarly, though the age varied on some of the stains. "Couple more like that chump and I'll have enough to get some real cloth tailored. I just wish they weren't so expensive to bring out here." she mumbled to herself as she counted her take of the winnings.

The guys had been good to her, and she didn't complain that they expected a cut of the bets. She did live in their place, and ate their food after all. With a sigh, she flopped into a chair, that appeared to be lined with flack jackets. It was, mostly to protect it from the bladed scales that lined her back. Not the most comfortable thing ever, but she couldn't complain. With a practiced flick of her tail, a small T.V. clicked on and she cycled through some of the channels, to see what was going on in the world.

Telia was mildly surprised. The club, or gang, depending on how you viewed them, usually had more guards posted to keep people from just wandering in. As Niccele began to introduce herself, she turned her head to respond when the girl announced her last name.

Telia knew that name, and the armrest of her chair was shredded as her entire body tensed up involuntarily. She was having to fight herself, to keep from fleeing, or simply attacking the girl in front of her. That one name brought back quite a few painful memories.

By the time Niccele had finished, she had managed to unclench her hands enough to get out of the chair and glare at her, doubt and suspicion overlaying her features.

Then as she got a good look at the girl's face, another vague memory snapped into her thoughts. The doctor performing surgery on her, to remove a piece of the bumper of a truck that had been used to test her durability. She wasn't anesthetized, since it was quick, and she had glanced into the observation room, and spotted another girl, this one normal, with tears in her eyes.

"The Doc's kid huh? I remember you. I saw you once or twice, after my tests. You were usually crying, though I never knew if it was because of what was being done or not. How do you plan on helping? Turning us back to normal? Yeah right. That'll never happen. Why don't...." she was interrupted by something bouncing off the ground near her and Niccole.

Telia's eyes widened in horror once she realized that it was a grenade that had just hit the floor. In a maneuver worthy of action heroes, she tackled Niccele to the ground in time to protect her from the detonation. A wave of force washed over both of them, and Telia felt the heat and shrapnel impacting her scales and hide.

The pieces that hit her scales did little more than scratch them, and the bits that hit her hide only barely did enough to make her bleed. One of the fighters ran to check them, and once he realized they were okay, headed out to find the guy responsible.

It would be a short time until they caught the guy, which would turn out to be a rival gang member looking to take out whomever they could.

However, long before any of this would occur, Telia was still clinging to Niccele, mumbling incoherently and nearly catatonic with fear. She was replaying several of her memories of time in the lab, where they were testing explosives on her. Because many of these tests involved traps, Telia was deathly afraid of bombs and such.

The fact that she had managed to keep enough of her wits about her to save Nicelle was just short of a miracle, and it would be hours until she recovered enough to function normally.
