If it were really much of a good resource for people that are new to the music......it would help to have some actual information. Seriously, you need to "read" the thing. neutral

MadTiger Stella_Starwind Hmm I wonder if there are any places NY that have Japanese mags..I might be going there in the summer to visit my cousion in Broklyn and I've already lucked out and found some stores that Lolita style cloths..which I think should be cool to go and check out. I'm sure Mitsuwa is not the only Japanese Market in the U.S. (and yeah I am pretty sure that is the chain I heard about as well too). Anyway thanks again for the help..lol eventually I need to come on this page and write down all the mag titles that you guys put up so that I can have list of some to go and look for a possibly check out. Anyway laterz guys YES A LOT. Haha, just walk up 5th avenue - BookOff, Asahiya, AND Kinokuniya are all within 10 blocks of each other. From what I heard, Mitsuwa is the biggest mall-type thing. But really, all it had was a food place, a bookstore, and one or two others. I prefer St. Marks and BookOff/Asahiya/Kinokuniya. Sanseido is the bookstore in the Mitsuwa shopping complex. They may not have as comprehensive a magazine collection as Kinokuniya (which I no longer go to >P the place pisses me off for some reason...maybe too many scene kids?) or Asahiya (which ROCKS and nicer staff!) but they do have the VK, hard rock mainstays like UV, Fools Mate, and Shoxx as well as a plethora of other music mags. And if they dont have what you want, they're very good with special orders and they do subscription services. Didn't see it mentioned in the other posts in this thread, but Jrock Ink is a book, not a magazine (why the url says magazine is beyond me, the author has expressly said its not to be confused with other US jrock publications like Purple Sky)...

Someone behind Jrock Ink got the (mistaken) inclination that it might be a good idea to do a magazine. So in fact, it is both. The magazine had one freebie issue, and from what I've seen, has not continued.

I believed that J-rock Ink is no more. Instead in its place, we have purple SKY. I believe it is the same magazine, but it underwent a comestic makeover.

"boo" from centigrade-j used to work/possess a major role in both J-rock Ink and then purple SKY. I assumed that they were the same, but my apologies if I have falsified information.
