i can only tke so much of it though until it kinda hurts my ears. but then again i also play music until the house rattles... so i suppose that doesnt help the situation too much. i think hot water music is pretty good at times. im kind of a mood person. when i am in the mood to listen to that stuff ill do it. but its been a while since i listened to "third estate" or any thing else by them.

Anthemic and melodic screaming isn't all that new and I quite like it, Dag Nasty worked with that quite well. Strike Anywhere does have influences from Hot Water Music so I guess they try to implement some of that in.

I presume you mean 80's Dag Nasty and not more recent, they sound way too much like Pennywise nowadays xp

In the 80's I'd almost say Dag Nasty was like Gorilla Biscuits mixed with Blink 182 at some points but the album they released in 2004 I think it was sounded exactly like Pennywise.

The only Dag Nasty albums I own are Wig It Out At Denko's and my favourite Can I Say. I've only heard a little Dag Nasty outside those two albums and that was enough to put me off. But 'Can I Say' is still one of the top punk/hardcore albums in my collection.

I'd have to say that it was perhaps walking the line of hardcore though... really thinly.

Nvm it was 2002, but it was called Minority of One. Thankfully it wasn't released on Dischord.

Just wondering, has anyone else noticed that the metalcore scene has actually grown bigger than the actual hardcore and metal scenes?

I can't really say, I discover all the bands I listen to by word of mouth since I don't live anywhere close to any scene.

That was from awhile ago, I don't think many people know much about that now.

As far as I know the last live show they played was in 2002 but the Dischord site says they're still together.
