Adela kicked Elizabeth's hand away from the body. "She's not dead! It's cruel to eat the living."

She'd have said more but she got pushed away (and rather far for that matter) by Clarissa who came to eat with Elizabeth.

Clarissa almost looked sane if it weren't for the blood everywhere. "So what are we waiting for?" She now started reaching out for a piece of the dying girl's flesh. She had seen the vines from Xu and dodged them (attempted to at least) on her way to her meal. She got caught by one of them but used her claws to rip the vines apart. "Stupid plant."

"She's unconscious and as good as dead! Wastefulness is irresponsible!" Elizabeth protested. She scooped up a chunk of electrogirl's torso, near the vital organs where her vomit had splashed. "You call this 'not dead?' There's a kidney in here." She gulped down the nearly-fluid slush before it could dissolve further as Clarissa began to do the same.

"Damn..." Keho muttered. What they said was true. Life needed death to continue to live. That was the way of the world, of nature. However, standing before this scene now, a look of disgust of evident on Xu's face.

"But even animals knows it is wrong to eat your own kind." Xu shook his head, a mixture of sadness and pity in his eyes. They were not meant to exist... "I wonder what does that make you?" Xu stated, obviously angered by these Hosts. Squeaking sounds could be heard from underneath the ground, the Vines acting in sync with Xu.

Clarissa had been enjoying the taste of flesh for the second time that day when Xu started talking. "What did you say?" She turned her head around to look at him. "What are we?" She started to stand up and face him. "That's a good question. That's what we've been trying to find out. Your friends," she spat, "killed the people who could have told us about our past."

She lifted a bloody hand. "You think I enjoy being like this!? I HATE this! I HATE myself! But you know what?" She flexed her fingers. "No one cares. All you care about are your secrets and getting rid of us." A look of hurt passed her face. "I don't want to be like this." She looked back at Elizabeth who was finishing the meal. "And maybe I do deserve death. But I don't want to die yet."

Adela quickly got up from the rough push and stood next to Xu. She wasn't sure what to say to this bloodied child, much less Elizabeth. This is crazy. "I don't know what's going on or why, but I do plan on finding out what I can from the Adams," she offered. "I'm just as confused as you are. If," she hesitated, "if you leave now, I'll get all the info I can from them and tell you."

The Hispanic hated betraying the others like this, but Schraeder's life was on the line as well. "A friend of ours is badly injured." Can't tell them he's on the verge of death or they may go after him. "And he needs help right now. I can't get him the help he needs if you're still here fighting."

The Hosts saying that the Adams were the ones responsible for the charred bodies startled Xu. They...did that? Why?

"Are you serious?" Xu whispered to Adela. He wasn't sure if that would be the best thing. Heck. He wasn't sure about anything anymore. He had thought that the Hosts were the one`s in fault, but now? Xu put his hand up to his face, trying to hide his confusion. What's right now? What should we do?

"We don't know what's going on either," Xu started, slowly and quietly. Upon Adela's reminder, Xu remembered that Schraeder was still back at the entrance. It doesn't matter who is right, we have to finish this now...

"If what the Adams have done was wrong, we will not stand for it." Xu paused. Xu surprised himself. He couldn't believe he had just said that. Whatever works, I guess. Let's hope something bad doesn't come out of this. Xu took a glance at the Adam, whom which they were eating off from. Nothing much remained. Xu looked away, retching.

"Good luck getting any answers out of them," Elizabeth said as she pulled out a scoop of the dissolving heart of the Adam. "They won't tell you any more than they tell us. So we're stuck like this. You think I'm happy eating her heart after she attacked me? No. No I am not." In a general sense, at least. I'm pretty contented by the taste now.

At the glimpse of purple fluids out of the corner of her eye, Helena gave her a brief moment in the Adam's absence to see what happened. It seemed her female colleagues were preparing to eat. Well ******** that! Grissom would earn her own meal.

She was playing on the rule of opposites. Go through the floor? Pop out the ceiling. She crouched and folded her blades over her head, dangerous sides aiming skyward. When she actually saw him and realized he was preparing an assault, her reflexes said attack. So she lunged upward with all her might and swung her blade arms like scissors in an adrenalin-fueled attempt to pre-emptively strike.

Had their been time, she might have even prayed to the God Essence for her own survival. Had she done so, she would have later realized she was losing her mind. However, time had not permitted, and so Helena would have no moment of clarity during which to realize she was on the road to madness... for now, at least.

Suddenly Elizabeth was suspended from the ground by her hair. Damn the Adams were fast. Elizabeth then came to the realization that her hair was burning. She twisted around, trying to get an attack in on her attacker, but only managed to spot his facial expression - one of rage - and his ridiculous looking afro. It was hard to take him seriously, what with the massive waders and the afro. Well, the fact that he was mostly on fire made it easier.

The Hosts were being defeated, and they knew it - it was time to get the Hell out of Dodge.

The Thief had most of the Adams's attention. Helena managed to knick Harry as he portalled around, and eventually he withdrew to handle the wound. Only Elizabeth was still engaged with an opponent. Solution: combine forces to get him away from her, then escape.

The b*****d ran away! Helena was feeling rather mentally bruised after that, having been so ready and eager to claim a victory as her own. Looking about now she realized that if it wasn't for the Thief, though, they'd probably all be on the expressway to imminent death. Suppose she shouldn't be so upset. The b*****d could teleport, after all.

So she turned and moved to Elizabeth's side. "We should probably go while the Thief still has things under control," she said quietly to her companions, blade arms still at the ready... just in case.

"That'd be good, yes," Elizabeth hissed as she gritted her teeth against the pain of being suspended by her burning hair. She struggled but had no grounding to strike against the flaming Adam who was behind her.

While Elizabeth was in her predicament, Clarissa talked to Adela. "Keep your promise," she warned. "I hate what I am, and I will do anything to figure out why I'm like this."

The teenager turned to see Elizabeth was in trouble. She ran to claw at the fiery man's back. Hopefully it would force him to release Elizabeth. "Let her go!"

Adela stood by, not knowing what to do. She couldn't fight people who were leaving. She couldn't fight her allies. She was useless. For some reason, that hurt her a lot more than she thought it would. No. I'm not completely useless. Schraeder was still in pain, wasn't he? And no one was going to be able to help him until all the fighting was over. "Hey Xu," she said, "I'm sorry about that deal I made." I really am. I shouldn't have done that without letting anyone know. "And I'll probably get retribution for it, but right now, there's nothing I can do here. And Schraeder needs help. So I'm going to go back and help him."

She took a few steps back to the door. "If you plan on staying here to help fight, fine. If someone needs help, send them to me."

Saieve was now hurrying along, the fellow host he had freed in tail. Before long, he spotted Adela, likely heading for the exit such as he was.

"Hey!" he called out, "Wait up!". This is good, I can meet up with Fin soon.

He held his hands, palms out, in front of him in an attempt to show he meant no harm.

However, seeing as his hands were still transformed, the gesture wasn't as friendly as it could have been.

Adela heard Saieve call her name and whipped around in a defensive stance. She unconsciously tried to pull her hands into fists, but winced. Oh right. Stupid swordsman. She was glaring until she saw that it was Saieve who'd called to her. "Oh. So you're with the others, right? You friends are down that way, and they plan on leaving soon. Or at least, that's what they agreed on. Kind of." Actually, only that midget made me keep my promise. She pointed in the direction of the fight. "Follow the noise, and you can't miss it."

She turned around to walk away. She didn't think he wanted anything to do with her. Besides, they hadn't ever talked/fought. "Uh, good luck, I guess. Don't try to kill me please, I made a deal with the three crazy women; I'd hate for it to be broken."
