Reina gave him an unsure look as he seemed to try and look happy again. When he gave her shoulder a reassuring squeeze she gave a small smile again "Okay. If you say not to worry I will not worry." she said her smile becoming apparent again. "So is there anywhere else we should see?"

As if answering her question she felt him take her hand and saw him point down a street suggesting they head that way. She nodded "You think so? Okay then. We'll head that way!" she said her voice chipper and quickly heading in that direction unaware he was planning to return her to the scientists. She looked around as she walked before she spoke up again "I told you about where I come from. What about you? What is like where your from? Is it like where I'm from?"

WHERE I come from, you ask? Well... it's different from here," Drake said. Fumbling with the proper words in his mind, he hoped he sounded at least somewhat believable. "Back home was a place that was very closed. Like you couldn't find the air to breathe freely even though there was plenty of space around. The people were nice, I suppose, but they were like everyone else. Pretending to care, not really caring. Gets kind of annoying after a while." There. That wasn't a complete lie. Drake never enjoyed the bustling city life of Temen society. He found it suffocating, pressuring him to become something he wasn't, preventing him from reaching his full potential. "In a way, you could say it's like where you came from."

Drake kept his eyes on the walls of the buildings, on the road in front of him, on the shadows that flitted in every nook and cranny, everywhere but Reina's face. He was going insane. Why did a simple trip to an office on his own free will feel so intimidating? From the way his hands were shaking and the way he jumped at every sound, one would have thought he was on his way to his execution.

She listened as he explained where he come from. She frowned as he explained. It didn't sound like it was a very nice place to be. She looked up at him when he finished explaining a small sad frown on her face. "That does sound... annoying." she said continuing to walk. She pondered for a second about asking him to see about staying at her home. Maybe he would enjoy it better. She smiled at that thought. It would be nice to have someone else around the lab and the scientists probably wouldn't mind.

Looking up again to ask the words froze as she saw him looking about everywhere seeming almost scared heading this way and his hand shaking slightly over her own. She stopped grabbing his hand gently and tugged "Is there something here? Is that why your so scared Mr. Drake?"

By the time Carmen made it through the shoving, pushing, and trampling crowds she was pretty sure she didn't want to touch another being for the rest of her existence. The crowd had been noisy, smelly, and sweaty, not exactly an ideal setting for a new life. But it paid off. Finally she was able to enter the city. Her firsts steps inside were rather anti-climactic, but when something was so high in her eyes how could it be anything but? The city was astoundingly beautiful. Everything was how she had pictured it, if only a little less grand. It was still breathtaking. "Here's to new beginnings." she muttered to herself before pulling her baby blue scarf over her nose and red lips. Shoving hands in her pockets and heels clicking she started down the street, heading for the address that they'd given her. This house would probably be a lot smaller than her last one, then again she would be alone. No roommate, no boyfriend, no family coming over, no friends to share it with. All by herself. Well, she couldn't say that it wasn't what was best. The setting sun cast lengthy shadows across the stone streets of Wyonix. It didn't take long for Carmen to locate her new home, nor to be acquainted with it. Kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom, spare room, office. That was pretty much the end of it. It almost seemed too big. One person didn't need that much space. Carmen sat in the kitchen for the longest time, simply staring off into space, lost in thought. Finally the silence began to annoy her, it wasn't something she was used to. It would take some time, but for now she would need something to preoccupy her. Carmen left the house without a glance behind her. The air was cool and refreshing. She walked the streets with no real destination in mind, long blond hair flowing behind.

((Please pardon the infrequent posts. I will be starting to get extremely busy in these next few days.))

SHAKING HIS head, Drake tried to get the feeling of impending doom out of his mind. Something was definitely not right and he had a suspicion that it no longer had much to do with bringing Reina in. Was there some unknown danger up ahead? Logic told him no but his gut said otherwise. He decided to listen to logic.

"Nah, there's nothing here. I'm just a bit tired from the long trip," Drake said, finding a rhythm in his half truths. The lies were coming a lot easier now.

Just another block to go, then a left at the intersection. Unbeknown to him, the officer from before had sent out an alert that a potential danger had escaped his watch. Every Government building would be on the lookout for a blue haired boy with instructions to apprehend at first sight.

((yeah i think everyone is busy with final exams and such...myself included emo ))

Mikaela opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling, contemplating getting up to eat the food that had been placed in her luxurious confines. Sighing, she figured she should do so, if only to keep her body healthy. Rolling out of her soft four-poster, the cuff around her wrist clanked against the bottom of the bed. The sign of her servitude. This was what kept her plugged into the main generator of Wyonix. She was tied to it in this way all day, and all night. There was no drain on her body, but the feeling of slavery was still there. Not to mention she hadn't left her room for more than a few days in the last six years. Most of them recently, as she was moved from her former home to here.

"Why me, Mother Tera..."

Depression was taking her by storm. When she was younger she hadn't minded as much, despite her past experiences with the outside world. She was grateful to the scientists who had saved her, and had wanted to repay them in what ways she could. However, after so long in a cage like this...Especially after her recent foray into reality again, she realized she was not satisfied. After taking a firm root, this thought had spread quickly and thouroughly, leaving her with nothing else. Mikaela still appreciated what the scientists had done...but was there no way to let her outside every now and then?

Tyler strode closer towards the city centre, looking almost literally for trouble. The crowded street was brimming with life and excitement for the new city. In the dimming light, he watched as the streetlights began turning on. The soft glow was extremely pleasant, and very bright. He wondered what they used to power it, the claims had been that Wyonix was using a waste free way to generate electricity, but he didn't understand what it could be. Suddenly, a blond woman with a soft blue scarf streamed by in the opposite direction. Her striking appearance and nonchalant attitude caught his attention rather quickly. Looking around once, he walked another block, and when he was sure no one was going to notice him in the chaos, he turned right around, keeping an eye on the blue scarf and waving blond hair.

((Eek! I feel I like have missed so much!!! >.< and Yes, Finals are impending for me- hence my infrequency.))

Finding nothing of particular interest, Ysa became wildly bored. She may be a patient woman, as her job demands, but when it was just her alone, that was not the case. She had been roaming the busy streets for a few hours after the last train had arrived, the next was surely to arrive soon. She continued to walk in an aimless pattern- which is great if one was being tailed- and then found herself in the center of the city. It's magnificence didn't surprise her, she had arrived much earlier and already had her chance to look around the city. Even so, it was still breath taking. All the hustle and bustle, the lights, the nightlife. She didn't know weather to hopeful about the advancements or have distaste for it- Mother Terra would surely send some sort of retribution if it displeased her greatly, but that didn't mean it made her happy, did it?

Ysa was taken from her religious thoughts when she noticed a little boy walking across the street and a few blocks down. He looked like the young dodgy boy from the train- the one who would have been a good trainee in her troupe. She lost sight of him in the crowd and she wondered if she should go after him. Surely she could find him later, if she so chose. If Terra wanted him, she would send Ysa a sign of acknowledgment. And then it came, she saw the boy across the street walking back the way that he had come, a determined look on his face. Ysa took a deep breath and began to walk down her side of the side walk that was adjacent to him. This way it was not so obvious that she was following anyone. She didn't need a sign twice and she planned to approach him, but she also recognized the look on his face, or rather the fixation of his eyes- all newbies had it and it was a telltale sign. He was following someone else, and she wanted to see how far he took it, it could be his 'audition' or so one could say.

Troa had a cold shiver run down his spine, a familiar feeling for him to know he was followed. One of the few things he was grateful for his past about. Turning into a shop as he flicked away his smoke, he bought another pack of smokes. Taking the chance to see the familiar gleam of a silver jacket, he sighed a little to himself and walked out lighting a smoke. Taking the chance to look right at her, smirking as a truck drove by. When the truck began to turn, he hopped onto the step and grabbed onto the bar. As soon as he was sure she couldn't seen anymore, he hopped off. Dropping the smoke, he dashed down an ally. Jumping off a trash can, he hopped onto a fire escape and climbed onto the roof. Scanning the area quickly, he tried to spot his roof quickly. Finding it, he dashed and jumped off the roof to another. In the ally behind his building, a few roofs later. He climbed down the fire escape and climbed through his window. "Why do I get a bad feeling about this...?" He muttered, no longer wanting a smoke. Instead, he pulled out a bottle of brandy. Opening the bottle, he just took a swig.

Reina looked at him for second not looking like she didn't quite believe him but then her face softened with a smile and she nodded "Okay then. Lets keep going." she said and continued walking. Glancing up she noticed how dark it had become and that the stars had now come out. She looked up wide eyed in awe of the sight of the starlit sky. She had never seen anything like that before.

Grinning she felt even more excitement to explore. But something was odd. So far she had hardly seen any signs of any plants. There were plenty of plants back at the labs for the experiments but so far she hadn't seen a single leaf or flower petal. 'Maybe all the plants are in one place.' she thought smiling hoping she could find one soon. She was beginning to miss hearing their 'voices'.

THE NIGHT was truly beautiful. Even though the city lights blurred his vision, he could still make out the clear glimmering dots that marked the millions of stars in the universe. Aside from the twin moons that orbited Terrato, Earth could be seen peaking out just over the horizon as a gargantuan grey sphere. The Sun must be acting up again, Drake thought, the dimensional barrier is very weak tonight. If one were to look close enough, they would be able to see the occasional pile of rubble that indicated a fallen city under the swirling mass of sickly yellow clouds.

Reina seemed very happy out here in the real world -something that he was afraid would happen. Taking a deep breath, solidifying his resolve, he placed his hand on her back, guiding her towards the office. He hoped she wouldn't recognize the sign too soon. Opening the door to the rather nondescript building, the first thing Drake realized was the tense aura. It was almost as if he had just walked into a dragon's den. How ironic.

The reaction was almost immediate. In the instant it took him to open his mouth, police officers sprung out of the shadows from all directions. Drake counted three men before they had him pinned against the wall, wrists already in cuffs. He could tell more of them were filtering out into the open now that their target was caught. At least one of them had their gun trained on him -the tell-tale click of the safety switch being turned off told him that.

"Look, boys. I did you all a favour, and this is how you repay me?" Drake said, weighing each word with the force of his will. "I brought someone of value back to you. The least you could do is let me free." He almost laughed in relief when he felt the officer handling the keys released his arm to, what he had hoped, unlock the infuriating buggers. His victory was short lived however as a frustrated yell pierced through the silence of the room.

"Bunch of worthless, god forsaken, pieces of crap!" the voice bellowed. Drake tried to twist around to see what b*****d had interrupted him. It was a sorry mistake. The man picked up on the action, doubling his speed to reach him in the blink of an eye. Grabbing a handful of Drake's signature blue hair, he smashed the boy's head against the wall. Momentarily stunned, Drake couldn't defend himself as the man landed one kick after another. He couldn't even hear himself through the pounding in his ears.

"You're all useless, you know that? Useless! After all the briefing you sat through outlining every single bloody detail, you still managed to fall into his trap!" the man yelled, accenting each point with another kick. After spitting out strings of curses, he seemed to cool down a bit. At least, enough to take his foot off Drake's quivering body. "Put a damn muzzle on him. I won't have this mutt running loose in my office."

Looking up at the sky again she saw what was once the planet earth swathed in the yellow clouds. She could see glimpses of the fallen and wrecked cities that were the old relics of earths old society. She had never heard of earths or it's short comings, so as far as she was concerned it was just another marvel in the sky.

She felt Drake place a hand on her back guiding her in the direction of a nearby building. She turned her head looking up at him questioningly but didn't ask anything walking in the direction of the office building. Compared to the other buildings this one seemed rather simple. Nothing like the homes they had passed. She hesitated to enter for moment. Something didn't feel right here. But Drake entered which gave her a bit of assurance promptly following behind. She glanced around the building curiously. It looked like no one was here.

Before either of them could do anything men suddenly jumped out of no where. Reina let out a small scream of fright as they came towards the two of them quickly grabbing Drake and pinning him to the wall. Seeing them handcuffing Drake she started to run towards them to tell them to stop but before she could take one step she felt someone grab her arm roughly. She started trying to pull her arm out of his grip which only tightened to keep her in place.

Her heart was racing and her head was spinning. What was going on here? Why were they doing this? She let out a frightened whimper again trying to pull out of the grip of the officer whose grip was beginning to hurt. The officer gave her arm a tug telling her to stop wiggling around which she did with another whimper.

She looked over as the officers began to release Drake from the handcuffs after he had asked them to let him free. She was honestly surprised... they didn't seem like they had wanted to let them go a second ago. She felt her fear subside only to come back full swing as she heard yelling.

She watched a man suddenly ran at Drake grabbing him by his hair and throwing him against a wall. Reina felt like her limbs had gone cold and she let out a cry of fear as the man then began to kick Drake furiously. She cried out helplessly for the man to stop. She had never seen people act in such a way towards others. They had never yelled or hit one another. When the man eventually stopped she was shaking and tears of both fear and worry were in her eyes as she looked at Drake lying on the floor. She tried desperately to pull out of the officers grip to go see if he was okay. But the officer promptly pulled her arm sharply and turned to the officer who had been kicking Drake "What should we do with the kid here?"

Many people had retired for the night, but some were still floating about, a decent amount in fact. Probably too excited to just go to sleep. It was their first day, after all. Carmen however was not one of those people, she was simply bored. Heels clicking she made her way down the streets, not entirely sure where she was going, nor what she was going to do when she got there. She just needed the cool night air and the sound of other people around her. Icy blue eyes watched as thousands of people walked past her, each one having a different story and a different destination. She would never know any of them, not unless she stopped to ask, which of course she wouldn't. Carmen was about to turn around when she heard a scream. It sounded an awful lot like a girl's scream, and not a fun playful one either. Carmen sped up and headed in the direction of the noise. Maybe she had imagined it, after all it had been so faint. Her heart skipped a beat, it could have been real. There was no harm in checking it out, right? If it wasn't real then she would just look stupid, and if it was, maybe someone needed her help. Carmen was running by the time she got to the scene. It only took seconds for her to take in what was happening. Though she didn't understand completely she was one smart cookie and could come up with a lie in seconds. A boy with blue hair was being handled roughly by police and a little girl was watching with tears in her eyes. The scream must have been hers. "Oh my God! There you are!" Carmen rushed up and embraced the girl, her breath coming in pants. "I have been looking all over for you! Where have you been?" Carmen straightened, but kept her arm around the girl's shoulders. "'The kid' is coming with me." she said forcefully. Now she just needed an excuse as to why. Carmen noticed the hospital gown, though she could only speculate as to why it made lying slightly less challenging. "I'm Dr. Carmen Marat and she is one of mine. I lost her in the train station and have been looking for her for over an hour now. This man must have picked her up." The name was a lie, but at least she spoke with the authority of a doctor. Having been one before it wasn't hard to do, in fact she still had her lab i.d. on her. Carmen pulled it out and flashed the officer her picture, though she was careful to cover up the last name before shoving it back in her coat pocket.

((Woah! Sorry, I didn't see your post, Xylo. Uh, one moment while I edit. EDIT: Okay, done. xD))

GRITTING HIS teeth against the pain, Drake tried to blink away the tears that were forming in the corners of his eyes. How the hell did this happen? He struggled weakly against the officers who had taken hold of him again, suddenly remembering why he had come here in the first place. Reina. Where had she gone? What happened to her? Panic rose in his chest. Maybe it was a mistake bringing her here after all.

"Let her go, you bastards!" Drake spat. "Reina run!" Before he had a chance to say anything more, an officer unhooked a palm-length device from his belt. Drake recognized it for what it was the moment it was brought into his view. He would have protested then and there if the officer hadn't reacted as fast as he did, slapping the thing against the side of Drake's face. The instant adhesive stuck to his skin with the binding force of super glue. It would have been futile then to try and open his mouth. The small charges the device emitted kept his muscles locked in paralysis.

Satisfied, the man from before, who obviously ran the place as a director of the local police, turned towards the girl. "Well, judging from what this trash said, your name is Reina right, little miss?" The director knew that name from another alert he had been given by the scientists who lost one of their experiments. He was so lucky to catch them both at the same time. Hell, they even came to him, saving him the trouble of actually going out and looking for them. "Bring them both to the back. And make sure no one goes near them except for the assigned guards. I'll kill you if I find out even one of them escapes due to your stupidity. These aren't regular people you're dealing with."

As if the police officers didn't already have enough excitement for the day, a striking lady wearing a blue scarf stormed into the building. She peeled Reina away from the officers' grasp, beginning to mouth off to the men with an air of authority. Sounds like someone from high up, Drake thought. Listening to her talk, he realized Tera must have heard him. How lucky was he that one of the scientists would come straight away. He didn't know what he would do if the officers dared to treat her the way they did to him.

((Sorry. I feel the confusion was because of my post. I will try and be more determinant in my writing. ))
For a long while nothing happened, and she became bored. Honestly, you would think that in a new city interesting things would happen, but no. Ysa rolled her eyes in slight exasperation and lowered her pace, letting the young boy and whomever he was following fade off in the thinning crowd. She continued on her random path, but no longer followed a target. Sooner or later, she'd find him again. Cities were small to those who roamed them freely. She took a deep breath looked ahead of her as she walked.

Many people began to head to their new homes, as was often expected in the evenings. However, it was just the beginning of the night for Ysa. Those of darker moral character tended to come out the darker it was outside. She wondered aimlessly, hoping to run into such people but was disappointed that she encountered none. Eventually something unexpected happened and she paused. It was far away and muffled by the noise of the street, but she was positive that what she heard was a scream. She looked in the direction of the distress, but did not change her course. If someone was in trouble, there was something to entertain her, but if it was someone who needed help- she couldn't help without some sort of fee. She altered her path and set a definite course. Ysa decided that it would probably be more productive to return to the headquarters. After all, there was only so much scouting anyone could handle for one day. So, to the already established underground community she headed, careful that she wasn't followed. After all, once she got to the headquarters perhaps someone would have a potential job for her and her mercenaries.

Reina heard Drake yell for the officers to let her go as she wiggled her hand into the officer's hand trying desperately to pry his fingers off her arm. Hearing Drake urge her to run she cried back "I-I can't!" she said using all her strength to try and pull away. She let out a cry as she saw the officer place some sort of thing on Drake's face causing him to freeze in place. Her eyes looked around the room feverishly in search of any glimpse of a way to get away and help him

Her struggling stopped as she suddenly heard the voice of an older woman "There you are!" Reina turned to see who it was when she was suddenly embraced by the woman who had apparently been talking about her. She fell still tears still in her eyes but looking at her quizzically as she claimed to have been looking for her. When she pulled away she looked up at her face and a look of confusion appeared on her face "H-huh?" she stammered. She didn't look like anyone she knew... but she was claiming to be the one taking her. When Carmen showed her lab identification her teary eyes widened in surprise. She was a scientist. But why didn't she look familiar? As her arm was let go she pulled away quickly looking over to Drake. She started to run over but a harsh look from an officer caused her to stop. She wanted to go make sure he was okay but from the looks of it they would let her. She looked back up at Carmen a pleading look in her eyes hoping she would help him as well.
