Ornias lifted an eyebrow. She was certainly a looker! "Around here somewhere," He said as he placed the caught rabbit down. He looked up and smiled at her. "You hungry? Your welcome to help yourself to the food while I look for some wood."

Her features relaxed and she put her gun back around her back. Soon after a large smile appeared on her face. There would fire in the Ku residence tonight! Well, the Ku alleyway that is.

"I have some dry food with me. I can't imagine you have enough for two people, so perhaps we could... uhm... I could give you some of mine and you could give me some of yours?" Mujan began walking towards him again until she was within arms length.
"Mujan Ku" She said holding out her arm to him.

Bahamut shook his head, "Believe me, we've known each other too long for me to change like that." He nodded and returned the smile. As he listened to the white mage talk about herself becoming a summoner, a flashback ran through his mind:

Nine year-old Bahamut is tossing a blitzball around with some friends out in the school courtyard. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees a girl around his age standing in the middle of a bridge, peering through the railing into the small river below. He walks up to her and sees that she's alone and sad.

"Uh, hi. You okay?" He asks.

A soft-spoken reply in between sniffles, "I'm...yeah. I'm okay."

"Are you crying?"

"No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are. You look like you are."

"No, I'm not. Boys don't cry and neither should I!"

"Uhh...I don't but...I've seen my dad cry? And he's a really big boy so I think it's okay?"

"A-Are you sure?"

"Yeah! See, I'll cry with you! Only...you have to hit me."

"What?"

"Hit me! C'mon, I dare ya!"

"No way!"

"Kick me! Right here!" And he points to his right shin.

"But I..."

"Now!"

"Okay!" The girl lightly taps Bahamut's leg with her foot.

"Don't be a scaredy cactaur! I can take it, c'mon!"

Lillian kicks much harder this time, but Bahamut overly dramatizes the impact. "Owwwwwieee!!" He looks away and pretends to cry.

"Oh no! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Is it really bad?" The girl panics, "I'll go get someone."

The pretend cry turns into a real fit of laughter from the boy's side, "Just kidding!"

"Oh you!" She slaps Bahamut's arm out of angry reflex, which creates an honest reaction of pain.

"Now THAT one hurt! Aww man!" The boy rubs the sore spot on his upper arm.

"That's what you get for being mean!"

Silence. A few seconds later, both children break out into laughter.

Years of tears and laughter later, here Bahamut and Lillian stood talking about summoners and guardians, the kind of stuff they only used to overhear their parents talk about. Time certainly flies on on a swift chocobo.

When Lillian asked Bahamut to become her guardian, his face dropped with shocked surprise. "I'd be honored, Lilly! I mean, yeah, I love blitzball but...I can do that anytime I want. There's no way I'm gonna let you travel around Spira without me!"

The man grinned and crossed his arms, trying to look pompous, "Besides...there's no fiend in the world stronger than me."

User Image Lillian's expression showed a good bit of relief. "I was worried that if I did find you, you wouldn't want to go with," she admitted. Not only did he have blitzball, but there was also the fact of him almost having avoided her this past bit of time. "Thank you."

The Al Bhed white mage could hardly keep herself from smiling at his remark about being stronger than any fiend. "You being stronger than them is what I'm counting on," she said, giggling a bit at the end. However, the thought of another type of danger stole away the laughter. "Though, I've heard that Bevelle and Zanarkand's relations haven't been that good. So...it may not just be fiends in the future, unless things get better."

She had to decide on a day to go and see about visiting Zanarkand's temple, though she didn't have any deadline to meet. That was the good thing about her line of work, and the line in which summoners worked.

Bahamut nodded again, "Yeah. Lots of rumors going around about a war starting up. Stupid Bevelle, they think machina is everything..." He shook his head. Judging from what his parents had told him prior, relations between the two cities have become more and more strained over the years. The man wasn't really sure how or why, but what mattered is that if Lillian has decided to gather aeons for the battle, he needed to be there to see her through it all.

"Well, I'm gonna have to break the news to the team and all...but I think they'll understand." Being a guardian had its benefits, particularly for Bahamut. Time and again he refused to become a summoner himself, despite his parents' insistence. Not that he didn't love their work and the power it wielded, he simply wanted to find his own way in the world. His parents, thankfully, were very understanding of that.

"Oh, wait, before I forget, " Bahamut thought aloud before returning his gaze to the white mage, "If I'm your guardian, then you're gonna need to know why I've been gone all this time. I'll show you why outside of the stadium."

User Image Lillian nodded. "They should. I'm sure they were put under the pressure to become either one too," she answered, then looked at him curiously. His last statement confused her. So there was a reason he wouldn't visit her or let her know where he had gone after all?

"That...would be a good idea," she agreed, looking to the door. She pulled her hood down, finally realizing she hadn't yet. Which was odd as she tended to do whenever she was inside. But then, if they were just walking out, it wouldn't have mattered anyways. "So we talk to your teammates, then go outside or what did you have in mind?"

Ornias grinned. "Its quite alright Mujan Ku! I can always fetch some more food! 'Tis a gentelman's job to take care of a fair maiden!" While Ornias and Balthazar were different from one another, one thing they did share in common was always trying to charm the ladies.

He took hold of her hand, happy to at least come along someone friendly. "I am Ornias. But you are free to call me Anima." He then motioned for her to go ahead and warm herself by the fire. "It feels like its going to be a cold night! I wouldn't want you to catch a cold!" Ornias threw some more twigs and little leaves onto the fire.

"I shall return with some more firewood and some wood I think will be good for you to have! Is there anything else I can get for you?" Growing up in the area had its benefits. He could faintly remember the happy times that he did get along with his twin, when they would go camping together with their father.

Bahamut chuckled, "If I'm quitting the team to be your guardian, meeting the time would be kinda irrelevant, don't you think?" He moved over to the doorknob and nudged the door again, which easily gave way. "There's a back exit down the hall and the stadium exit is not far. We can talk more on the way."

He smiled at her again before he opened the door wider for her to come out. Sounds of laughter and horseplaying could be heard from the Player's Lounge further back in the hall, but nobody seemed to be hanging out in the hallway. Which was good. Bahamut wasn't in the mood to have to explain why he was alone in the coach's office with a woman. That would be just a plea for trouble in his mind.

Mujan huffed up a bit at his statement. "I don't need no taking care of, Mister. Don't go makin' the mistake that I'm some weak damsel, 'kay?" She definitely didn't feel like a fair maiden, what with the marks of grease and dirt and whatever else on her face that she could feel and just not get off and the rips in her gloves and the dirt in her hair and... well there was just too many things that took her far away from being anything 'fair' in her head.

Mujan simply sighed as he took her hand, getting a hold of her temper. "It's a pleasure, Annie" She followed his gesture and walked to the fire, her legs definitely needing warming.

"Uhm, if you find any broken cred I would appreciate being told. Other than that there's really not much I could ask of you" She closed her eyes as she felt the warmth of the fire. As contradictory to her rude statement, she really didn't mind being taken care of. If anything it was nice for a change.

Ornias scratched the back of his head. "Oh. I'm sorry." He said a little meekly. But he mused over her new name that she gave him. Annie. It sounded pretty. Simple, but pretty.

"Alright Annie. Broken cred, firewood and some extra food." He said with a smile.

Wait...cred? What the hell? Was his first thought as he began his hunt in the forest. It took him a moment or two to realize what it was in al-bhed and it brought a bigger smile to his face. Pretty and witty. Not a bad combination!

A loud giggle slid from her lips as he walked off, calling after him.
"No, YOU'RE Annie, silly!" She turned her attention back to her surroundings, slightly disappointed that he didn't really leave anything behind, she could have used this time to snoop.

She dug through the contents of her pouches. Food, more food, a couple of grenades, small machina parts, and an old hand drawn map of somewhere. Mujan threw the map in the fire, having no need for it anymore. All of her stuff, but no gil. She really had to get her act together. No matter, she always made it out in the end.

Ornias returned an hour and a half later, lugging some wood over one shoulder, a small bag jiggling on his hip. "I have returned Mujan! Annie has found some wood for you!" With that, he entered his small camp, and put down the load.

He then untied the small bag. "I think I found pieces that fell off a robot or something, I'm not sure, but I thought it would be interesting for you. Sadly, its not much." With that, Ornias handed it over for Mujan's inspection. He arose and trotted to the bushes for a moment to retrieve another hare he caught. "And some dinner! Do you like rabbit Miss Mujan?"

Mujan sat up suddenly as he returned, having resorted to lying on her back at some point he was gone. Looking at the wood he brought her, she clapped happily with a laugh. It was enough so that she wouldn't have to go looking again for a few days if she planned it out right.

She grabbed the small bag of parts and looked through it. Most of it was useless, but a few small parts were useful. What really got her going were the two small heating elements, and her joy was clear on her face.
"You're a God amongst men Annie, and rabbit is perfectly fine"

User Image Sariel couldn't help but laugh at the larger man's excitement. Indeed, he shared the man's excitement, only he was a little more restrained and was at a quick walking pace. "Heh...Viktor will never change," he mused as he followed the ogre.

The cloister was a confusing mess of technology. He had been told exactly what to do, as it was the military's wish for one of their unit to become a summoner, so fortunately in their case it wouldn't be that much of a hassle. Pulling out a slip of paper, he browsed it again as he entered the cloister as well.

Ornias blushed a little and scratched his head, at a loss for words at the moment. One of his first compliments since leaving Mount Gagazet and it came from a beautiful woman no less! "Aw, well, no need to say that. It was a simple request!" He said bashful as he readied the hares for cooking.

"So Miss Mujan, what has brought you here? I'm here to visit my brother. He's supposed to be trying out for Zanarkand Abes today." He said telling a half-truth. Ornias knew he missed it. He was no idiot. And he didn't really come for his brother anyhow. He had come rather to rub it in his Father's face that he had a potential career ahead of him. To show his father that he was wrong about him.
