"Gotta admit, being rejected sucks." Shadow Rednal said, yawning. "But then, what kind of crap emotions would I have if I were to give up just because of the fact that someone else is also interested? I'm not that shallow. Still, I am a bit depressed right now, so how about some entertainment to cheer us all up?" he waved a hand, and spotlights shone on the path before the group, showing a hill with a door at the top. Along the way, however, were wooden dummies that very much resembled what you would see in a Martial Arts movie as training for somebody. The dummies moved their hands up and down, creating what was very obviously a gauntlet that somebody was going to have to fight through. It probably wouldn't have been hard to guess who, even had the Shadow not said it right out a moment later."Well, this one's for Chie, since she and Yukiko are so close. All you have to do is make it through the gauntlet... of course, you'll have to do it with your bare hands and feet, no Persona help, and your friends can't help you through it either... but once you reach the end, the dummies will shut off, so they can just walk up. You're gonna have to work to get through it, but they won't break any bones. I think." he smiled widely, already seeming a little happier.

Yukiko stepped off the bridge and smiled as she saw they would all safely make it into the next room. The next room though, she knew was for Chie just by the look of it. She stood with the group as the Shadow explained what Chie would have to do.

A stereo appeared beside Shadow Rednal, and he kicked it as the wooden dummies got ready.

Music started playing.

((*Dies from laughter*))
Chie smirked, at the ideal.
"That's it?" she called, hopping lightly. "This'll be a cinch. It's just like a training sequence in Trail of the dragon. Which reminds me Yosuke...did you ever buy me a new copy of that?" she added, throwing a glare over her shoulder.

Kanji watched as all the dummies appeared swinging their arms around, he was a little worried that they might hurt Chie, but he nodded in approval very sure that she would handle it, but he was a little worried that it might hurt, he knew chie liked to fight, but this looked a little tough to him, he awaited to see what she would do wondering how she would handle it...

Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader

'So, the third test is another physical challenge?' the silver-haired Leader of the Investigation Team thought to himself, still trying to figure out exactly what was going on inside of the Gensokyo Dungeon, 'but asking Chie to use her martial arts to pass a test...again, isn't this a bit too convenient?' He stood in place as their energetic, kick-tastic friend made her way towards the trial, feeling the corner of his lips stay quirked at a downward angle. Everything was so different from floor-to-floor, it wasn't at all like the trials that they had faced in the past that focused on the person who had been kidnapped...these trials had been specially crafted for each one of them, personally. But was he testing their will? Their skills? Their hearts? None of those added up and applied to every test that they had seen this far, and it was still too early to establish a pattern out of them. The only thing that they knew for sure was that each member of their team seemed to have something they had to accomplish here, that tested them in their own element. But there were some things that Rednal shouldn't have known that his shadow did, such as Kanji's weakness...so what exactly was going on? What else did he know about them that he shouldn't...what other trials did he plan on giving to the rest of them? Still too many questions, and not enough answers. He shook his head and maintained his composure, nodding to Chie when she looked back at them. "I think he's underestimating you," he told her simply, "show him that your skills are for real."

Chie's scowl vanished, as Souji told her to show the shadow her skills.
"You got it chief!" she called, as she started to make her way through the gauntlet, blocking the dummy's assaults for a good portion of it.
"This is no sweat!" she called, as she continued, the hands seeming to get faster and faster.

They didn't just seem to be getting faster. They actually were, and the path got narrower and narrower, so that the girl would have to block and strike on both sides at the same time to protect herself from the menacing mannequins, or else get pummeled by them. Which, while probably not going to be fatal, would definitely hurt. A lot.

Chie was moving forward still, but she slowed down considerably. The dummies were getting faster, and it was taking most of her energy to just get past them. She kept blocking them, and was getting close to the end.
okay, just a few... she thought, before one of the dummies caught her off guard, a punch in her shoulder. She could almost feel a bone crack, but continued to solider on, her pace getting slower and slower.
Just a....little.....further....

[Gensokyo]

When the path was finally cleared, a final dummy strode forward, something that immensely resembled the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz... as in, it was a metal version of the dummies the girl had been fighting. It lunged forward, its hands chopping up and down faster and faster as it got closer to the girl.

Yukiko saw that Chie was slowing down before letting out a gasp as Chie got hit in the shoulder. "Chie. You can do it." She called out to give her encouragement she needed.

Chie made it through the dummies, and heard Yukiko's encouragement. However, she looked up just in time to jump back a little, narrowly avoiding getting hit again by the dummies as she saw the iron Dummy.
"Sheesh, as if all those other ones weren't enough." she called, as she fell into a light stance, preparing to try and go around the Tin man impersonator

The Tin Man followed her easily as it got close, then lunged out with a straight punch using its left arm, aimed towards the girl's chin. With its metal fist, a hit like that not guarded against would really hurt. Some part of its lower body seemed a slightly different color than the rest.

Soji Seta, Investigation Team Leader

Soji watched silently as Chie progressed through the gauntlet, wanting to call out to her but holding back his cheers. The others were doing a good job of that, anyway, and he couldn't keep his eyes away from the shadow or his mind off of the tricks behind this place. He had noticed after the first dungeon that Gensokyo was beginning to restore itself, but he hadn't noticed the same thing again since then. Could that have had something to do with it, as well? It seemed that no matter how hard he thought about it, there was a chaos to this place that he couldn't completely rationalize...that, or there was a simplicity to this place that seemed wholly out of place in the strange TV World. Nay, as he tried to wrap his mind around everything, he found himself distracted by the sudden appearance of a Tin Man that hadn't been a part of the gauntlet itself, and as he approached Chie ready to strike, the Senior remained confident in her ability to defeat it. 'It doesn't matter how strong or fast this thing is...Chie's skills are for real,' he thought as it tracked her down in her attempt to slip past it. Silently, he began to cheer her on. 'Come on Chie, don't let your guard down,' he thought as his clouded eyes followed its moves, 'find its weak point and strike!'

Chie Raised an arm, to block the attack on her chin. She knew that a hit to the chin would probably lay her out flat, especially from a metallic hand. She felt the punch connect on her arm, which was now hurting pretty bad as she started to look over the Tin man, for a spot to attack.
She looked it over, and noticed that part of it seemed a bit off color.
She wasn't sure if it was because it was old, or if it was an indication. All she knew, was she was going to attack it.
She raised her right leg, to kick the off colored area.
