Well, I went to the Anime Convention in Pittsburgh this past weekend. Definitely had a lot of fun
smile This is called "Sleeping Samurai". Basically it's a weapons duel between two people (foam weapons). The only ones I took pictures of were of the Katana matches but they have other tournaments for mixed weapons and the lot. I have a couple videos as well I may post when I get the chance
smile It is interesting to note that the last picture, the guy with the red skull black sweater was actually a 2nd string fencer in the Olympics a few years ago. Although he was playing much more casual, which was nice to watch.

We stayed at the Wyndham Grand Hotel in Pittsburgh, which was formally known as the Hilton. I was staying on the 18th floor along with the rest of Anime Club. Most of the hotel was reserved for the Anime Convention attendees, so you can imagine the hell that was unleashed for the elevators trying to go to and from the rooms (especially since the majority of people were using the elevators instead of the stairs to get from the 1st floor of the convention to the 2nd (which were right next to each other floors wise)).
The last day (Sunday) Marco (the president of the Anime Club) and I decided to sign up for a $15 Charity Lunch-in on the 24th floor in the Executive Lounge which was extremely high class and had a fair amount of finger foods. The Charity went to Japanese babies so it was a good cause

Hopefully the videos will be uploaded soon (of Sleeping Samurai and of the dances I had to do in the group =P). Was definitely fun
smile I bought a few things including a keychain, t-shirt, buttons, and a cellphone charm.
