Two young adult Rishlan stepped carefully along the high ridge. They were headed over the pass, but it was proving to be more difficult than they had expected. The first was a slightly older black male with striking green eyes and green segments of what looked like code running down him. He wore black sunglasses and had a rip in one ear. The other was a lithe female, also mostly black with deep blue eyes, a silver tailtip and left front paw, as well as two silver markings, one on her left haunch and the other below her right eye.
"Now, tell me why we decided to come over the pass, Digit?" the female, Illusi, said to her older brother, "I mean, this is a bit dangerous, and especially for you. You trip over your own feet on flat ground, for goodness sake!"
"Not my fault I'm such a klutz, Illusi. I'll have you know that I'm being very carefuuuuuullll!!" in the middle of his sentence, Digit tripped over a small rock and pitched over the side of the cliff face. Illusi darted forward and grasped his shoulder with her teeth, but he was too heavy for her to pull back up.
"Pho mow 'at, 'eniuph?" (Translation: So now what, genius?) she said through a mouthful of shoulder.
"I dunno...I guess we're just stuck here until you get tired and let go of my shoulder."
"Juphsth 'rate..." (Translation: Just great...)

Inauro trudged along the path, head down against the chilly wind rushing across his coat. Flecks of snow and frost collected in his eyes and melted into his fur, weighing him down even further.

In short, he looked like crap.

But--all was well. None would ever know of the soggy, bedraggled, pathetic, golden one, unless vast misfortune were to fa--

--and thus, (to his great dismay) Ino caught sight of another two Rishlan in the distance. He knew not what they were up to, but first things came first--Inauro dove swiftly behind a rock, shook his rather conspicious gold fur as best he could, then stepped back out and proceeded in a more dignified manner, head high.
