jfdsa!

Okay, looked like she was being MORE THAN HAPPILY greeted upon her return into the realm of the living, her posture stiffening up just a bit as she just walked over to the sink to set the two plates in it. No immediate answer. Just a deep sigh.

"He didn't seem inclined to eat anything more." she answered, taking speeeecial care in avoiding the topic of how much SHE had eaten. Already how much she'd eaten was going to make her stomach HURT for several hours. She'd likely attempt to bypass lunch just on that alone.

Not that she was expecting to get another 'real' meal again anytime soon. Nope, MOACYR WOULD NEVER MAKE SURE HER GUESTS WERE WELL FED WHILE UNDER HER ROOF!

NEVER!!

Though Tamara was more distracted with finding a spot to curl up with her arguing stomach, just settling on a corner of the floor with a pained groan.

Owwwww.
PostPosted: Fri Apr 03, 2009 7:42 pm

If Moacyr had noticed that curious stiffening, she didn't comment upon it, nor even respond in any visible way, still smiling the same charming and-so-pleasant smile without so much as a falter. Maybe it was even a familiar behavior to her, but... no, she'd never tell.

"I see..." No further questions as usual, just a pause and a slight shrug. "So long as both of you got something of substance down, I won't worry too much over i-- .........."

Oh, dear, now that certainly wasn't a very healthy looking behavior, and the dark woman's expression dissolved to a slight frown watching that beeline to a CORNER, of all places. Just... wait, ill or not, there were plenty of more appropriate places to rest off a sick stomach than somewhere so cold and barren! That was just dreadful!

"... Hmm." That was a slightly more reserved 'thoughtful' noise, ears turning back just the slightest bit. "You know, there's a lovely couch in the living room if you'd like to lay down by yourself for a bit. Would you like a blanket and pillow, perhaps?..."

Roselyn, all the while, was looking horribly torn, for some odd reason, silently frowning and looking damn near ready to CRY for some odd reason... before sliding out of her chair and tottering over to the kitchen sink. What was she up to, now?...

Perhaps she had some hopeless child's idea in her mind to make things all 'better'?

Tamara half-wrapped her arms around her head, making a point to curl herself into as small of a ball as possible, her ears as flattened as she could make them without actually having the muscles developed IN her ears for such movement.

SIGH.

"It's easier to clean up a kitchen floor than carpet.." Tamara answered, her voice quiet and not exactly looking away from the conjunction she was focused on like a good girl with an unhappy tummy. WHY YOU LET ME BE SO HUNGRY? WHY YOU NOT FEED ME MOAR? WHY?

Y U TAKE MAI CHIKN I FOUND?

Nngh...

Tamara groaned again, pressing her knees up against her ribs (Sob, so skinny) to try and silence the pain in her stomach. Ow ow ow. Sniff.. sniff... she didn't like being miserable and broken. At all. Certainly nobody did, but not very often did it result in one being curled up on the floor in a ball of FAIL.
PostPosted: Fri Apr 03, 2009 9:27 pm

Oooh dear, dear, that... was certainly beyond just the average tummy ache, and it was painfully apparent to Moacyr right then that she'd made a slight miscalculation in her hospitalities. Perhaps the good intentions of comfort food (which SHE, quite frankly, thought were very tame) had only laid waste to a stomach more sensitive than she'd known in quite some time.

Poor thing... was she just not used to eating?

"Oh, you don't have to worry about the cleanup... and I'm sure there'll be none to worry over anyway," she commented in a rather... soothing tone, almost, once more taking up the kind motherly persona that was so natural for her and just glancing back to a certain other little nobreed, who'd just yanked the slightly-whining kettle off a stove burner and started to pour with... something. "You just do whatever feels best right now..."

Mmm, pouring, digging in tins, shoving the stuff into a tea ball... Roselyn seemed to be in a sniffly fervor to mix up whatever she happened to have in mind, producing no sound beyond the most feeble and quiet of timid whimpers until she seemed satisfied... or close enough to it...

And just what had she made, a-- O SHI-- ... looked like she was (shakily) shoving it right at Tamara? Some kind of... honey-gold, faintly floral smelling liquid.

"S'chamomile..." Awwww, for such a young thing, she sure knew her medicinal qualities, too. Not that she was brave enough to look the older woman in the eye or anything-- and instantly recoiled with a sniff. "F-for... ah... bad... stomach sicks..."

Oh goodness... now there was a NEW conundrum. Stomach was hurting, yes, but it was hurting because there WAS stuff in there, so she didn't really see the logic of taking MORE fluids to go 'OM NOM NOM' (what was the drinking counterpart to that?) and see if she just exploded?

...
.....

Yeah, that would have been QUITE the mess to clean up, honestly. So part of her was inclined to NOT take the offering from the little nobreed (Tall enough to boil water on a stove! Impressive!), but ultimately her 'be nice' instinct (odd she still had one) brought her to groan again and sit up to take the cup from the girl.

"Thank you..." she whispered, again not exactly the loudest of individuals, tucking her legs up against her while sipping slowly at the cup.

Didn't exactly go 'MIRACLE, YER BELLEH IS R BETTER!', but it was better to do something?

Well, dependant on how effective it would be. But alas, as Moacyr was suspecting, food and her body hadn't exactly formed a strong friendship in the last couple of years.

Nnngh.

Even with that feeble thanks, little Roselyn appeared terribly anxious and distraught, sidling back to her seat at Moacyr's call, sure, but still stealing timid glances over her shoulder and choking back sniffles ever so often while the effectiveness of her little remedy was still unknown. She'd just thought... well, chamomile was good for upset stomachs, and it was nice and weak and not OH GOD RICH either...

Poor thing. She really was trying her best to put a band-aid on everything and make the whole house better.

"... Mmm, well, hopefully dinner will be taken a bit better," the 'lady of the house' muttered mostly to herself, finally finished with her own plate, and sighed heavily, getting up to rinse her dish off. Poor Tamara... just the sight of her was positively pathetic!

"Well, if you need to lay down, as I said, the couch is comfortable-- and any furniture you see is yours to use." Granted that a normal guest wouldn't have required such permissions, but she thought it couldn't hurt now. "Don't hesitate to call me if you need something, alright, dear?..."

Because, SIGH, there didn't seem to be much more she COULD do right then, huh?...

What a terrible feeling for a mother to be powerless in a distressed child's vicinity (... which Tamara was to her, no matter how old she was).

Okay, she didn't really LIKE being looked at, slowly sinking back against the cabinet and sighing a bit. She'd just.. hide behind her knees, to be honest. Nothing wrong with hiding behind the knees.

Not to say her stomach was handling her putting MORE into it than she already had, groaning again before she was laying on her back, the cup sitting half-full on her stomach, one finger tracing the edge of it. Bleeeegh.

"Just give me a bit... that's the most I've eaten in a week..." she admitted, more up at the ceiling and to the cabinet by her head than to anybody else in general. SIGH.

Poor little abused chilluns and their lack of food. She hadn't even snuck stuff away from the kitchen as a way of being naughty and to quiet her stomach! Well, once or twice she had, but ds;kafjldf. Do not want. Well, actually, at this point in time she DID want. She very very very VERY wanted. Nom nom nom.

NNnngh, just THINKING about food made her want to go vomit up what she'd just eaten. No more thinking about food at this time. dsa;lfjkl.

Maybe she should have gone back to curl up on the bed with Niko.

Oh, dear... Now that was most DEFINITELY a frown of disapproval on Moacyr's face right then, though not because she blamed the poor victim by any means. It was just... just... well, being such a kind soul as she was, the thought of purposely starving anyone to such an extent was outright ridiculous, and disgusting, and frustrating all at once.

And the saddest part was how common it probably happened to be for those unfortunate little lives stuck between species.

"... Alright, then." She didn't press, didn't comment further, and responded in an oddly flat tone. With that said, however, it was time for her to ... wander off, for the moment, perhaps to go work on laundry or clean out the study or just kill time on some other idle, menial task. No use in sticking around, because... Roselyn would hang in her seat at the breakfast table and keep track of things for her. Yep.

The little girl had winced and finally averted her eyes thanks to her own timidness, but sure enough, there she had stayed in silence, head rested on her folded arms and back turned to the woman she was still so terribly angsty and interested in, but couldn't even look at.

Perhaps things would get better if she just... waited? Maybe?

And Tamara laid there on the floor for almost half an hour, now and then sitting herself up to sip at the tea some more. It was only when she was feeling WELL enough to fully stand that she finished off the tea and wobbled up to her feet.

Okay, needed to walk off the unhappy belly. REALLY needed to walk off the unhappy belly. Though right now that would require her to un-cling from the counter and start being mobile like a NORMAL HUMAN again. Not that she was very normal to start with.

A-

..... Huh, the little nobreed girl was still camping out in the room with her, wasn't she?

Tamara didn't MEAN to frown at this sudden realization, but she had, the tips of her ears twitching a little bit before she sighed again, moving over to sit by her.

"So your name is Roselyn, is it?" she asked, just...
...

ATTEMPTING to start conversation to distract herself from her bodily fail.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 04, 2009 7:34 pm

And Roselyn had stayed there the entire time, too.

Considering how young she was, it seemed like a small miracle that the girl could sit there in a chair doing absolutely nothing, dead silent and chin resting on her crossed arms as the world ticked on by.

Even when she heard those occasional shufflings of sitting up and laying back down again, she tried to resist the urge to look back and, when she did, it was as swift and discrete as possible, almost as if she expected the eye contact to somehow be insulting, or taken badly, or that it might scare the woman away and off to some dark corner where she'd never crawl out aga--

... huh?

She actually stiffened a little when she saw her bigger 'friend' moving closer, as if she wasn't certain how to respond to it at first and, when her voice was finally starting to work... she just stared at the wood grain of the table for a good few seconds and nodded silently anyway.

"I-It is..."

Well, TAMARA wasn't exactly the best person when it came to being social either. In fact, any male NOT Niko who walked in the house and tried to come in ANY sort of physically unwanted distance of her would be hissed at.

Or whatever she could manage of a similar nature.

"It's a nice name.... 'Beautiful Rose'." She replied, just as awkwardly and tapping her fingers onto the table. La la laaaa.... La.... Nngh. Awkward awkward. Okay, so she couldn't even converse with her OWN 'lost between the species' kind it seemed, as Tamara didn't exactly offer up much more for conversation than she already had.

...................

What did 'normal' people talk about? Especially a child? Hell, even talking about a children's book or something mundane like that would have been pleasant right then!

....

So why weren't they?
PostPosted: Sat Apr 04, 2009 10:45 pm

Wait, what was this now about beautiful roses? Roselyn had never really thought on the meaning behind her name before, and the genuine befuddlement shone clearly on her face as she stole another guilty look at her new 'conversation partner', almost as if pleading her to clarify and make it all less confusing.

Or perhaps she just wanted to see what this woman was like more clearly? It was hard to tell.

She... wasn't much of a brilliant conversationalist either, sadly.

"A-And you're... Tamara?" A squeaky little voice, but oh, was she ever trying. If her ears had the muscles in them to do so, they would've been flattening back, and had she possessed a tail it would've no doubt been shrunken between her legs. God, she really was just a little elfish-eared mench with ghost-stripes, wasn't she? "I dunno what it means, but... s'pretty..."

And then, an awkward pause. A very awkward with lots of fidgeting and lip chewing and finger wringing as she seemed to flounder on her own words.

"... A-Are you staying for a long time?..."

And what was she HERE for? Oh, now THERE was a loaded question!

Well, most children didn't think about the meaning behind their names. They didn't think about the meaning behind anything, jut the 'fun results' of it.

Or at least that's how =SHE= had been about it. Being oblivious to life was a very pleasant thing when one wasn't being screwed over by it.

"Mmmhmmm..... It's a decent name. Not as pretty as yours, but decent." Tamara said with a sort of thoughtfulness before sighing again and focusing her attentions on the grain of the table, running her finger along it's pattern with a light frown. She ... sure as hell was frowny. Very, very frowny. But she couldn't blame HERSELF for being that way, unfortunately.

.... Well, fortunately that she couldn't blame herself, unfortunately that she had to be that way none the less.

SIGH.

"A long time...? I.. don't know. I'm not sure where I'm going or what any plans are at this time.

He-..ck... even being here was a whim of fate."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 06, 2009 12:30 am

Well, that was more or less accurate for Roselyn, too. She'd never really given much thought to her own name; all she knew was that it was what people called her, and what her parents had supposedly named her (for what she could recall anyway) and it apparently was a part of herself in some strange way.

Though Tamara didn't seem to have much enthusiasm about her own name, which struck the girl as... funny, without the humor. Did she not like it very much? Were there bad things tied into it? Bad people using it?

Maybe like the scary man in the bedroom there?

"... I... I see..." Or maybe she didn't see at all and was just as clueless as her fellow nobreed, but the admission felt 'proper' to say. "Well... Momma's nice, at least..." Yes, which Moacyr had already proven many times over by taking them in at all, and then blowing off that little attempted MURDER, doctoring Niko, feeding them, housing them..

"S-She never minds when nice people stay..." Again, a slight 'NO DUH' statement, but then there was a little pause, and a frown, and a strange hesitation full of anxiety and lip chewing before she forced it out.

"He... is nice, i-isn't he?..." Yes, and not a monster who'd wake up and MURDER THEM ALL IN THE NIGHT?

......................................

Well s**t. How was she supposed to answer poor Roselyn in a way that wouldn't make her go "D8" at her and never sleep at night again? Uhhh. s**t.. Was Niko nice? He seemed to be tame enough from her experiences with him on a personal level...
..

And then there was.... Tamara actually paused and lifted one of her bandaged hands to press her fingers against her head where only a few days prior she'd been bashed against the railings of the stairs. Oh ho, was that a slight SMILE on her part?

"He is. He gets very upset when people are unjustly hurt and he seemed very upset to hear he'd behaved poorly earlier. He even saved me from a bad situation......" she said almost wistfully, looking at her poor fingers (It'd be some time before she had fingernails again, huh?).

Awww, Tama liked her a dysfunctional companion! Excellent!!

Ish. Excellent 'ish'. Hurrrr.

"Just be careful you don't surprise him. I don't think he handles surprise very well..."
