*holds up parasol so you can get under* ^^ Like it? ^_^ *clings xd * Two more essays? Are you taking a lot of AP classes??? (Advanced placement)
PostPosted: Fri Jan 27, 2006 9:06 pm

We don't have AP in Canada...but we do have enriched, academic and applied classes. I'm taking all academic. So I'm assuming that our enriched classes are equivalent to your AP classes in the U.S. But we don't have enriched senior courses.

AP = college level (also counts as a college credit)

That stinks! You are taking ALL academic classes? How many do you have? Most people take at the most 5 AP classes, unless they double up on some subject.

Ah, over here college and university aren't interchangeable. College here is basically what people think of as the "easier" form of university. Which is stupid. But anyway, I guess that means academic = AP because we need at least 6 U (U for university/academic) courses to graduate/get into uni.

I'm taking 7 courses and I have one spare. But, I'm only taking 6 U courses (which means I can't fail any of them or I won't have enough credits to graduate) and 1 C course (C for college) which doesn't count towards university.

We are not required any. It just depends on the degree you want to graduate college with... and you'd have to take anywhere from 3-4. College and universities are the same I think, but I'm not sure. We have a university in town, and the AP classes count as credit there.

Yeah, my point is that while in the US, college and university are the same thing. Here in Canada it's not and it sucks because there's this whole stigma about how college is for the not-so-smart people and that's really not true at all. neutral
