"You'll live to regret this, you know you will." She'd packed and hitched up. Climbing to the nearest peak she scanned, searching. She thought she noticed a flicker, a faint scent of smoke. She reconsidered and then decided that if she'd gotten him involved, the only way to keep him safe, was to follow him. She slid down and started walking keeping the image in her head, she picked her way though the mountain trails. Knowing full well she'd feel better and more logical in the woods.

"Night, Gareth... Don't cause too much of a ruckus now," Will yawned, rolling over underneath his thin blanket. It wasn't long, however, until he drifted off to sleep. Gareth's ears perked up, alert to any sound, then swiveled back. There was something going on that he didn't approve of.

An hour or so passed, she began tracking by smoke. It was dark and hard to see, he must be- "Gah!" She'd walked headlong into the peg. "Sorry about that don't kill me!" She whispered before backing away in case it did try and kill her. She wondered if he was here, if he was dead, or if it was a trap. She backed away to the base of a pine and nocked an arrow, waiting.

Gareth whinnied, which woke Will up. "Who's there?" He asked as he sat up, his hand flying straight to his lance. It was too dark for him to see past the spent embers of the fire. "Anyone there?"

Unfortunately for Khaz, running into others was not a part of his plan. A little fireball in the palm of his hand lit the way, but as he neared the man with the peg and an archer, the other casted the fire, only catching the shadow of Gareth. "What the heck is that thing?!"

"Shut up moron." She hissed at him from her spot under the Pine. Taking no chances the fired at the ball of light, though she knew she was high even as bow sprang back and she was nocking another. Silently she moved forward, circling towards the sound yet keeping herself in between him and whoever. She'd bet it was one of his spies, already seeking the information he sought.

Khaz raised his hands, creating a large fireball this time to light up the small clearing. "It's okay, I'm not here to harm anyone," he said, noticing a very on-edge, female archer and a pegasus with its rider.

"That's what they all say." She stated calmly pulling it taunt, "why did you find us?" She didn't seemed bothered by the situation, in fact, she almost seemed bored. "Oh yes, I wouldn't think of casting unless you can kill in one shot." Two things kept nagging at her, why did people just happen to find her today and why was it so silent? Something wasn't feeling right, she didn't like it.

"I have decided. Since, I have gotten you involved in my affairs, that it my job to keep you safe. Since letting you roam about by yourself is rather dangerous, you are in a fair bit of danger, more so then you know. The last person that met me, was dead within the month. Though I could allow that happen, I owe you my life which, means I cannot allow that to happen now can I?" She was still glaring at the mage with some kind of hate. "Again I ask you, why are you here?" She was really getting sick of people right now.

"Relax, relax. He was probably just passing through, right? I doubt someone sent him to get you." Truthfully, Will felt his pride get damaged by her words, "I can take care of myself, i'll have you know."

"Then your doubt would be your death." She didn't look at him, "I'm not saying you cannot take care of yourself, I'm saying that you don't have chance either way. You are too trusting, too far in to get out, everyone is an enemy now. Yes, that does include me, the fact you still live is a danger to me."

"You know I'm not dead that is far enough in." She stated, "I would not sit now, something has been wrong this whole time. Can you not tell? The song of the pines, the very life of this woods is stilled. Something hunts, they know and they will find." She wasn't sure what, she could just feel it, something evil.

"Whatever it is, Gareth can carry us to a safe point. I wouldn't worry too much about it," Will shrugged. "My name is Will, by the way," he said to the mage. "The pegasus is Gareth."
