the last mage also, why is the original text state, "God the Father", or "God our heavenly Father", or somthing along those lines instead of "God the parent" or "mother"? Why are ships referred to as "she"?

I've always seen God as more of a masculine figure since he created Adam first, and when my Dad hears God's voice, it's the voice of a man. That and the fact that Jesus was male. :0 I don't think it matters all that much since it's not like God dates people or has children, lol. XD Jesus not included.

Yeah, but the story of Genesis is at odds with most every other creation story in the world. Man, then woman? Shouldn't it be woman first, since it is she who gives birth to men? Why is woman an offshoot of man - and a sinful one, at that?

That's why later in the Bible it says "woman came from man, but man is born of woman." It's a fun little paradox. 3nodding Also, Adam wasn't sinful until after Eve came along- then they both screwed up together.
