Blinking snow out of his eyes, Peter looked over at Thumper with surprise. "Warmer? Is there such a place here among all of this snow?" Perhaps Thumper had a cottage nearby; a nice cozy place with a solid door and a warm fireplace. Being from a rather whimsical background, it never occured to him that other animals might fare differently.

"Of course there's a wamer place! Plenty if you know where to look!" Thumper said with a grin, "We could go to my place and warm up. It's a little far off, though I think we won't freeze before we get there." He looked off in the direction of the cave he called his home. He had found it, attracted to it because of how big and yet secluded it was. He also knew that since the other namrah had been staying with him, they had turned it into somewhat of a full fleged house of sorts, and that he would be happy to invite Peter over to warm up.

"That sounds delightful! Though I do wish I had another coat I could offer you to assure that you do not freeze." Peter went ahead and assumed that Thumper had his own coat, but had left it behind in his home. He hoped that there was a nice fire going by the time they got there. Perhaps someone else could have started one while they were out? "Are there any others living with you in your home?"

Thumper nodded, walking as he replied, "There are nine of us back home including myself. There used to be ten, but he moved out not too long ago." he said, going over the different Namrah through his head, "They're all quite nice."

Peter's eyes widened in amazement as Thumper disclosed how many lived in his home. "So many? Your home must truly be enormous to comfortably house so many!" He could already see it in his mind's eye; a large house, 2 stories at least, with many large windows that threw light on the snow for miles around, smoke and the smell of freshly baking things spewing merrily from a chimney, edges festooned withcharming trim and gaily colored paint. It seemed so perfect. Feeling his shyness suddenly returning, Peter cleared his throat nervously as he looked at Thumper. "Will many of them be home? I fear I am not as sociable as I would be, and I do not wish to appear rude by having my shyness mistaken for being antisocial."

"Well I don't think they'll all be home," Thumper said as he thought about his 'family'. Most of the time Blake was out walking, and now Sesi would go out with him. Sherwood was also typically out and about. That seemed about it though, considering Flannery and Shula tended to stay inside, as did the new guys Piperit and Sarosh. He wasn't sure about Dulcie. "At least three should be out doing their own thing. And don't worry, most of them are anti-social anyway so they won't bother you." It was actually rather good that Blake wouldn't be home, because as much as Thumper loved him, he could come off as frightening...Particularly because it hadn't been but a ear ago that he actually would eat rabbits like Peter and himself.

Peter nodded, looking noticeably more relieved. "Very well; that sounds wonderful. Perhaps more will be out playing in the snow, as we were." He added that to his imaginary picture of Thumper's house; little snow rabbits with charcoal eyes (there would be no carrots, of course), half-bombarded snow forts, snowballs sticking to the trees where they had missed their targets. It added to the whimsical air of the picture. Clearing his throat, he turned and smiled at Thumper. "How much farther is your home?"

"It's right, up, here!" Thumper said, pausing between words to make sure they reached the cave when he said here. It was actually a rather nice scene. The large open mouthed cave had soft white snow on it's top, but the inside was a soft brown dirt. Outside was a small snowmir next to a lopsided snowman. The ground just outside the cave, was actually not covered in snow. This was most likely due to the warmth of the inner part of the cave leaking out to. Thumped bounded to the entrance and turned to face Peter, "Welcome to my home!"

Straining his eyes to catch a glimpse of Thumper's cottage, it took Peter several seconds to realize that the cave was what Thumper was indicating. His first reaction was complete surprise; his newfound friend lived in a hole in the ground, with no door? But then he noticed the lopsided snow sculptures, and he fancied he could almost feel the comforting heat emanating from the cave. Well, home was, after all, where the heart is, and though it lacked windows, trimming, and comforting lights, he cound;t deny, the place had heart. "It looks very....cozy." Peter said, speaking honestly. "It must be much larger than it looks, to house as many as you say."

Thumper nodded with great excitement, "It's huge! There's rooms and such we haven't even explored yet! But c'mon, it'd be easier just to show you." Thumper hopped off, leading Peter into the cave. A large, thick fabric hung from the ceiling a few yards in, acting as somewhat of a door. It was brightly colored with all sorts of designs that, to the trained eye, look spanish in origin. Pushing past it, Thumper led Peter into the main living quarters of the cave. It was an expansive open area with raised wood floors. A small stone fireplace sat at the east wall, flickering slightly, the smoke flowing up a pipe that led out to the exit. A large round rug dressed the floor, various plush, low to the ground furniture were scattered about and soft fluorescent lights above lit the room rather nicely.. In a soft plush chair close to the fire sat Flannery with a magazine, Shula in a smaller chair beside her. On the west side of the room was an open kitchenette consisting of nothing more than a large cooler, some low stone counters, a sink, and various cabinets. The cave narrowed towards the back, the location of the various alcoves that the namrah called their rooms. Although on the outside it looked like a cave, inside it was much more like a house.

Nodding in acquisence, Peter followed Thumper into the cave, where upon entering all he could do was stare in surprise. Here it seemed a lot more like he really imagined it. A fireplace. Rugs. Lights. Furniture. Even a kitchen! He felt a pang of shyness upon seeing more namrah inside the cave, but at least they weren't crowding around demanding candy, like he was always afraid of outside of Easter. He turned to Thumper, looking amazed. "This place is wonderful! It seems so friendly, and open. I admit I had my doubts about it when I first saw it, but there is so much more to this place than first meets the eye. It almost seems like.....a hiding place of sorts."

Thumper was glad that Peter liked his home. He then thought about the idea of it being a hiding place. True, other than the namir that currently took refuge here and the human girl that would occasionally drop by to help with things, they didn't get many visitors or intruders. "Well you could say that," he said after that short while of thought. Another thing popped into his head though, "Kiki, the human who visits us, she calls it the Wayward cave. Where...where...err..." he lost the rest of what he had been thinking. "Where those who lose their way on life's path seek refuge until they can find the light amongst their darkness..." mumbled Flannery, not looking up from her magazine. "Oh! Yeah! Thanks Flanny!" Thumper said with a smile. The female namir waved him off, her eyes never leaving the page. Next to her Shula shrunk down into the chair, eyeing Peter nervously and mumbling to herself in spanish. While she had nothing to fear, the new face was still rather unnerving.

Listening with rapt attention as Thumper described his home, Peter blinked in surprise as the other namir, 'Flanny' finished the sentence; he had almost forgotten that there were others there. A refuge for finding light..... "That sounds very poetic." Peter said with a nod. "Did many of your friends who live here arrive under those conditions?" He blinked again as he noticed the other namir staring at him and mumbling incoherently. He thought he recognized a word or two, but he couldn't be sure. "Is she....alright?" He gestured to Shula with a jerk of his head.

Thumper nodded at Peter's first question, "Everyone here is here for a reason. They need a purpose, a home, a past, or a future. We've all got a little darkness we need to clear up." For Thumper, this was a very insightful thing to say, even if he was just repeating what he'd heard Kiki say in the past. "All a bunch of bologna if you ask me," Flannery scoffed, "This place is no more than a roadbump on the highway of life. If anything, this cave and the human who supports it only continue the darkness we all brought upon ourselves." She'd never liked this place. She only stayed here because she had no choice, "And as for my little sister, she's fine. Strangers frighten her so she starts to mumble a bit in Spanish." Shula nodded lightly, "No me gusta Namrah nuevas..."

Peter cocked his head as Flannery gave her input and absently scratched one of his ears. "Well, a cave can be a safe haven for one person, and for another represent the lowest one can sink; I for one have met others who would consider such outlooks of this place. I for one find it to be more inclined to the former, since it is such a cozy place to wait out the dead of winter. But I am certain you have your own reasons for interpreting this plac as such." HIs eyes moving back to Shula, he smiled a warm smile and reached into a pocket of his blue coat, pulling out an egg made out of a large purple jelly bean. "There is nothing to fear from me. I too am shy around many people. Do you like candy?"
