Aust held up his rifle and fired his rifle everytime he got a clear shot. Aust was a soldier at heart. Basic millitary tactics, burst into a room full force and take down the enemy hostles. He looked up and fired at the vent after seeing a foot. There was not much he could do from behind the other two men but take out the targets that wouldnt stay down. for a group of people he hadnt met before they work pretty well as a team. Aust was glad to have found people, it had been months since his last human contact.

((I don't mean to be rude or anything, but Slate and Onyx did sort of throw large metal bar doors in the direction of the door.))

(It's true, but you should also start taking a couple shots LD. Nothing lethal of course, and it might be that we don't seen Slate and Onyx again until they're recovered. Still, three men firing into a hallway -at least one of them a marksman- should do something razz Even if it's only shooting off poor Slate's toe crying )

It had never been his intention to advance into the hallway. Crouched at the corner of the threshold, he stayed where he was to insure his accuracy would be optimal, and that no surprises waited for him in the backside of the hall.

He raised his rifle and pushed his feet into the floor, propelling him backwards onto the carpet as the first door slammed into the wall. The sound was deep and percussive, and he could feel the vibrations of impact ripple out into the floor.

Saito pressed his body against the wall, the metal door barely missing his face and neck as it went by. His eyes were still on the target, He could see the black beast escaping through the vent, but that was now the least of their worries.

Zombies outside of the department slowly moved foreward, three different groups that would eventually get to the door, three runners going ahead of the rest. A total of 15 un-dead soldiers marching into battle, more or less going towards the dinner call.

Saito backed up slightly, "Those two are gone, we should move before the undead begin to gather...." He took another step back.

((:U I kind of thought the whole "Onyx left behind a trail of blood" would signify that but oh well.))

Neon watched them, hoping that they got the little ******** and that the noise wouldn't attract too much noise. She looked up suddenly when she heard a thumping of metal above her. "What the ********?" She said just before a large black figure fell through the roof and landed roughly on the floor, letting out a gurgling groan. Neon immediately turned he flash light to the figure, letting out a cuss. "s**t!" The creature's counterpart jumped down from the broken air shaft and landed next to his partner, making an alert noise. Neon's free hand made a scramble for her gun as the white creature looked toward her. Neon thought the thing would jump her but it instead gathered his partner in his arms and ran out of the police department. She fallowed them into the entrance hall, shooting off two shots at them, one apparently hitting the white one as he made pained noise before running out of sight into the city. Neon stood there for a second, gun still pointed in front of her before she let it fall to her side. "********." She muttered, hearing that zombies were on their way.

Aust saw the door come at him but was a tad too slow as it slammed into his left shoulder and sent him into the wall. Several rounds discharged and came withing inches of Saito's head as Aust was smashed into the wall. His gun slipped from his hand and landed on the ground, when it landed the flashlight on it turned on and lit up the room more. He slid down the wall and shook his head, his left arm was limp at his side. "god damnit!", he shouted as he took his right hand and felt his left shoulder. "Dislocation", he said as took his rifle and put it over his right shoulder. Aust stood up and pulled out his Bull M-5.

(Instead of finishing my last post, I'll just continue here. LD, I get what you mean -- just a little more specificity would be nice. The particular wound, etc. That way you don't have to go the generic route of "wounded." He might still be able to run, but is an arm injured? Or maybe he can use his arms fine, but is unable to sprint. It just helps to keep everyone informed.)

He leveled his rifle in front of him and leaned to his left, granting him a sliver of visibility into the hallway. It appeared that whatever infected had been trapped in the cells were finished. The doors, however, had left a hefty mark on the opposite side of the wall. Long gouged marks of white showed how the metal had torn through the paneling and dry wall, and powdered shards of plaster dotted the floor.

Neon's beam lingered in the hall long enough to show Artemas the thin line of blood racing up from the floor, across the wall, and into an open air vent. That explained how they had gotten back in. It also explained how further engagements with these Deviants would have to be executed.

The Syndicate requested a quick inventory of his resources. Twelve rounds left in Umbro, thirty in the spare magazine, and 18 total for the handgun. He had not misfired a single shot.

As the unknown started shouting Artemas rose up from the ground. His binoculars were back at his eyes, scanning the lobby and the ceiling. That's where the deviants had escaped to. Or so it had been until one came plummeting through the ceiling.

He made no attempt to fire another shot. In fact, he watched the second drop from above them and collect its companion in its arms and run for the entrance. He watched the woman draw and fire her pistol, calculating she had little over a 30% chance of hitting them with each shot. She confirmed his presumption on the second shot.

His feet didn't wait for the gunfire to cease. There was plenty of noise going on in this sector now. Between the cars, the guns, the shouting and the doors, there would undoubtedly be more infected. If they were lucky, only a small pack had come into the near vicinity.

Reaching the entrance, he noted the number present. The Syndicate had taught him well. Fifteen with a field density of two per five feet. Only one stood between him and a clear path into the alleys. Once he made it that far, it wouldn't take much longer before he would be secure.

The binoculars fell as Umbro rose, and he took aim on the steps of the PD. Thunderclap. A single shell ejected from its chamber. Eleven rounds remained as the twelfth struck his chosen target at the base of its neck, the paltry yards between himself and the zombie allowing for the rounds maximum force.

It teetered on its legs as its head swung loose from its shoulders, connected by a gory rope of skin and flesh. With its spine severed from the brain, the infected crumpled to the ground.

Eliminating that target opened the way into the side streets. Immediately after he faced the first runner, who came at him with its jaws wide and arms thrown open in a ghastly embrace.

He drove Umbro forward like a lance, and it burst into the beast's right eye socket. He pivoted at his waist when he felt the stop - the front of the barrel striking the back of its cranium- as he swung his arms down and clockwise. The creature, its skull hooked to the front of his rifle, tumbled onto the ground without an ounce of grace. It didn't get back up.

The force of his foot and the jerk of his arms was enough to tear Umbro free as the second and third runner approached. He didn't have time to mark for a kill, so he settled for the next best thing. With less than six feet between himself and a certain mangling, he fired from the hip; discharging another six rounds in a wave from left to right. The spray of fire served as a crude saw, hacking apart both of the the closest runner's knees and completely removing one of the second's legs.

Missing a leg, the lagging runner fell flying forward. The lead made it two strides farther before his knees completely failed; both femurs piercing through the length of its calves before it crashed into the stairs.

Five rounds remaining. Not a scratch so far.

((:U Fine, fine, fine. ))

Neon let out a sigh, from recovering from her little panic attack of a zombie-thing dropping down from the sealing and at the sight of one of the new guys completely kicking zombie butt just outside of the station. 'That guys not human.' She thought with a shake of her head before looking back for Saito and the other new guy.

((Also, Neon kind of died on me a bit. She's in a bad mood at the moment.))

Aust stod leaning against the wall, pain shot from his dislocated shoulder to the rest of his body. The pain was visible in his eyes. "Could one of you shove my should togeather for me before i pass out", he said started to shake slightly.

Saito walked out of the hallway, his pistol being held loosely at his side, his eyes taking in the scene. He have a heavy sigh before holstering his gun and walking over to the man. He looked over his shoulder for a second "It seems that there should be more than just a dislocated shoulder. But I will see if it will go back into place. Try not to scream" He took the mans forearm in one hand and put his hand on the guys shoulder area with the other, Twisting the arm and then bringing his hand back before slamming it right into the spot where the joints would meet, a slightly grotesque popping noise could be heard as the arm popped back into place.

Saito rose up from where he was before looking over to neon "We need to get a hold of a police car now, before things get worse."

"Ahh damnit!", Aust shouted when his shoulder was put back together. "Thankyou", he said as he took deep breaths trying to surpress the pain. He stood up strait still takeing deep breaths, he holstered his M-5 and pulled keys from his pocket. "You two need a ride?", Aust asked in between breaths. "I'm Aust by the way", he said as he took a step towards the door.

Five rounds remaining. Not a scratch so far.

Artemas slung Umbro onto his shoulder and unholstered his handgun. The weapon gleamed with peculiar worn color in the moonlit open. The luster was clearly one of gold; that was shocking grounds enough. He had a golden Colt -so it seemed- just like every other cliche action hero of fiction. Except this wasn't a movie. The man actually had a gold weapon.

He strode down the steps two at a time, raising the Colt to the level of his shoulder. His free hand still held his binoculars. As his boots touched the asphalt his eyes graced the lenses. He glassed over the street and into the foyer of the alley from which he came. Two more infected were shambling around the corner. Farther down the street a second pack of a dozen were slowly beginning to march. Another runner broke the the darkness of the horizon; screaming ravenously for blood.

He wouldn't wait long enough for the runner to arrive. He wouldn't wait, period. The Syndicate assessed his situation; briefed him on his objectives.
Primaries: return to rooftop position; collect the supplies he'd left. Mobilize away from the PD, and continue to analyze the infected threat. Wait until The Syndicate's threat level returns to gray.

Saito and the other survivors weren't on his list, and as his legs became pistons that launched him over the body littered street he did not look back. He sidestepped the reaching hands of the one legged runner, who thrashed upon the ground with great energy. He leapt over the corpse of the shambler he'd initially killed, and by the time the two infected coming around the alley had raised their arms to grab him Artemas had left them with smoking stumps for heads. Two shells bounced along the ground, leaving him with seven in the clip.

There was another trio farther down the alley, but they were not worth the munition. He draped his binoculars around his neck and slid the golden gun back into its holster. By the time the three had even turned to regard him Artemas was a quarter of the way up the fire escape. They began their slow trek to its base, where they stood and regarded the climbing human with stupefied looks.

As he reached the rooftop and rose to his feet, Artemas could see that nothing was disturbed. The tarp was left where he'd thrown it. The duffel with the alcohol and ammunition was untouched.

He quickly kneeled down to unzip the bag. Just to be sure. He opened it, and as he noted everything was still in place he took the new found HE grenade from his belt and placed it inside. A priceless commodity.

Then, after he had secured his position and his bag was on his back beside Umbro did he finally turn his binoculars back towards the PD. Concealing himself once again under the folds of the dark tarp, Artemas observed the unfolding crisis as he always did.

Like a Ghost.

Saito looked over to the man "We don't need a ride, but it might be a good idea for you to get out of town before anything more happens. There is a place in the country where there is already a group of survivors if you need directions." He looked towards the door, Sighing slightly at the fact that the man had ran away, just as he had figured.

Saito walked out of the door, seeing the small groups of zombies moving in on them at a slow pace along with the runner heading in his direction rather quickly. He drew his right pistol form the holster and aimed at the head of the zombie, firing a single round into its right eye that blew a decent hole through the back of his head, it's body rolling forward before sliding slightly to a stop. He looked back into the room to Neon "Lets get things set up before we have to waste any more time."

Aust followed the man outside. "do you need any help?", he asked as he walked over to his truck and tossed his rifle into the passenger seat. He opened the door and grabbed an orange medical bag from the floor. He pulled out a bottle of painkillers from the bag and popped a few into his mouth. He put the bottle back and put the bag away. "May i ask your names?"
