Nvira took a moment to reply,"Yes I can tell she wants to have your magical weapons. Kinda like a theif but... she plans to not hurt you just take them in the night and leave."

Valen smirked, good thing sleep is not something I need often. Valen continued on at a good steady pace without rest for anything. If he could make the forest he could disappear completely, but out in the plains, even at night, it would be difficult to lose someone..... maybe he could get there before dawn.

Rae luckily didn't need much rest as a dragon either but man this guy was not stopping for anything! Most humans would have crashed by now.
"She is getting suspisious to if your human or not but seems to be keeping pretty good pace with you anyways..."

Oh well... is she not human also? Before she could answer Valen spotted some moving shapes in the distance. At first it was just a couple, and then he started seeing dozens all around him in the darkness. As he got closer he could tell they were human, all middle aged men and women, and their clothes were tattered and many of them carried crude weapons, mostly farming tools like hand scythes, hammers, and knives. As he got closer their faces looked desperate, hungry, and a bit deranged.

Nvira almost jumped at the thought of bloodshed from these people. "No no she is not human but what are they doing here they look like they are going to attack..."
Rae followed a bit and then stopped as she smelt more coming. So she waited and stayed still for a bit. Seeing what would happen.

I have heard rumors... on the blighted plains about people who had lost all of their crops cause of the lack of sun here. And to feed themselves they have turned to... well, less than civilized means to say the least. The cannibals, or 'ghouls' as some people had been calling them crept closer and closer and now encircled Valen about 50 feet away. "I advise you to let me be on my way, I have no desire to harm anyone." Usually Valen had no qualms about killing evil creatures, but these... things were technically still human, and the only reason they were resorting to feeding on the flesh of humans was because of what his kind had done to curse this land.
The ghouls just looked back at him like he had said nothing at all. They seemed unfazed and continued to stare at his body with hunger in their eyes.

Rae looked at Valen's situation. He didn't want him to die although that would make taking his weapons easier...she ahd no qualms with any of the humans or things here. She was not heartless. If it looked he neede dhelp she would be there for him but until then she would wiat and watch.
Nvira almost rolled her eyes if she had any. Not hurt them? Theyawere about to attack she was sure. "Valen I do not think they will show you the smae hospitality that your showing them. We are going to have to fight."

Just because one has to fight doesn't mean one cannot try to avoid the conflict. As if in response the ghouls charged at Valen. He sighed and unsheathed both his old sword, and Nvira. Valen had fought with two blades before, but it always felt odd to him and so he did not enjoy it but he did the best he could. Nvira cut through the ghouls with ease, while his other sword would drain their life magically in moments. But his other sword just could not keep up with Nvira and he was quickly becoming swamped by enemies.

Rae jumped out of the brush towards the enemies shooting some ice at a tight group with ice slowing them quite a lot. Some turned to her but she create a shard of ice and used it as a weapon. Almost having to make claws to keep them off her. This form was not her strongest but it was able to make due since she had a lot of strength and speed compared to these humans. She left the ice shard in one as they backed away form her although Rae was now mad so she managed to trap them all in ice by thier feet and let them try to claw at it or struggle to get free hurting themselves on the sharp ice that was crushing thier ankles to hold them in place. "How dare you attack someone who is clearly just walking through." Rae's soft side shined through though and she rolled her eyes as she went up to one struggling to get free. "Here." She handed them a pack of food letting the ice go on his ankles he quickly ran off without a thanks or anything. Rae sighed, no thanks? She waited for Valen to get done with his attackers.
Nvira laughed in glee as the lood hit her blade and the feeling of slicing through things again was heaven! Her thirst for blood now sated for the time being but it always came back too soon. Never was there enough detah and blood on her blade.

When the other woman arrived she defeated several enemies and her magic cause more to retreat, allowing Valen to give himself some breathing room. Nvira's glee at the slaughter disturbed him a bit but he understood where she was coming from, fighting was her life, much like his had been.... Valen killed a couple more Ghouls before they realized they could not win and they began to flee back into the darkness.
Once they were gone he turned to face this ice mage, "I know you desire my belongings but I will warn you now to not try and take them for it will be your end as well."

Rae paused for a moment. "Well then I suppose no introductions needed. And yes your welcome for my help." She gave a huff of irratated air. "Well since you dragged us all the way into the middle of no where I suppose you will be leading me out of it?"

Valen cleaned off his swords and sheathed them again, "you dragged yourself out here, I had nothing to do with. I am going to Ostermark, if you want you can follow, or you can go somewhere else, it doesn't matter to me." Valen started walking northwest again without even waiting for her to reply.

Rae crossed her arms and followed him quietly...for a little while. "So are you a mind reader or something... if you knew I was there the whole time why didn't you say anything?" Rae didn't wait for an answer,"I suppose you were lucky that I was since you seemed a bit out numbered." Rae paused,"So whats your name I didn't cathc it because I don't ever remember you saying it and since you know my purpose you should know my name too and I would wish to be on even gorunds here."
"What a curious little drgaon she asks so many questions..." Nvira said nonchalantly. "They are always so annoying at young ages...."

A dragon? That perked his interest. He stretched out the fingers in his hands in anticipation, but he quickly shut down that urge to duel her. "I am Valen Gray of L'ordre Des Cruor Draconis." He thought that that probably wasn't something he should have said, but too late now. "And you are Raetherstria.... I was never outnumbered by the way."
