She killed Pip. That's reason enough.
Okay, seriously joking. OTHER than the fact she killed Pip I think the reason she's disliked so often is becuase its kinda hard to see the female side of her. Or at least, that's why I'm not really into her. But honestly I dont' like MOST female anime or manga characters in general. So to me, I rly don't like her and I rly don't hate her. She's just kinda...."eh. I don't care."

She hurt Seras with that and cut her arm
She thinks she is the strongest

I used to hate her not because of Pip. No, no...I was upset at how she used the emotions of people to weaken them. For example, the one Wild Geese member whose daughter and house she used to disarm and kill him. I was happy Pip died the way he did. It brought out the true nature inside of Seras. I disliked Zorin for that reason, but now...heh...I love her. Why? Her Japanese voice actor did a lovely job. xD Not a good reason to love a character, but its good enough for me.

kunaineck I, myself, have always been a Zorin fan, ever since I laid eyes on her. heart She's powerful, sexy, and has a badass scythe. heart But i've seen so many people hate on her for some reason. I've never understood why people seem to hate her just for existing. cry If you have a valid reason for disliking her even a little bit, please tell me. Just don't go off on a tangent of "Oh, she killed Pip that's reason enough!" I honestly couldn't care about Pip, he never stood out to me. So, you won't get any sympathy from me, Pip people. neutral ...Jk..I don't like her, not because she killed pip, but because shes like a hannibal lector on some magical steroids. not that i dont love hannibal, she just creeps me th hell out.

Well, I agree that hating a character just because they killed another more beloved character is completely pointless. I mean, I was a huge fan of the captain, but I don't hate Seras for killing him. It just creates a better storyline for the most part.
I believe it may be possible that people hate Zorin because of the fact that she goes against the "ideal" female depiction. She has many masculine features, by which, people may dislike about her...I personally do not have a problem with that but whether it is fair or not, most people judge on appearance. Sometimes very stupid, but true. sad
But anyways, she is pretty cool and the scythe is a pretty epic addition.
