"Why do I have to play a boy? I am one!" Imiko said, sighing as she walked out of the room, the whole masculine facade already in place.

Imiko walked into the dormitory after unlocking and opening the door. Closing it behind her, she giggled as Mizu disengaged herself from her shoulders over to her bed. Mizu settled down and looked at her with glittering green-blue eyes. She decided Mizu must be happy. She sat down and pet and lavished attention on the fire lizard.
"I've been waiting for you for four years. It's so nice to finally meet you!"
"Wouldn't you have been able to be with whoever bought you?" She asked, blinked in surprise at the length of time the fire lizard told her. Though it sounded like Mizu was speaking, she knew that she was speaking in her mind. It was an interesting connection.
"That's the way my kind work. The others have waited just as long if not longer to find their human."
"Sounds lonely."
'The thought of meeting you someday was enough.' Mizu let out what sounded like a coo and nuzzled her hand.

Vashiel has spent his time walking around the school hallways, bumping into other students and teachers. But most people were either afraid of him for what he was or for the aura that always followed him when he was in a stupor. He fumbled with his key when he got to his room. He planned to just spend some quality time with just him and Vashiel Jr. and the playboy channel. His plans quickly changed when he saw that Imiko was in the room, and it looks like she had a fire lizard with her. He was surprised at how close Imiko was to it, but then he realized why.

"A fire lizard? You seem close, let me guess it bonded with you didn't it?"
PostPosted: Wed Aug 27, 2008 6:42 pm

"Hm? Yes, I did. Mizu's a little sweety."
The fire lizard peered up at Vashiel and preened, showing off her beautiful white scales and her well-groomed talons. 'He's not an idiot, at least,' came the thought across her mind from her friend.
Imiko giggled at what she said, responding he was indeed not an idiot, then said aloud, "She looks just like a miniature dragon."
'Dragons are my cousins.'
Mizu, however, seemed happy to be compared to the larger of her kind, and once more showed off her beauty.

"Well I am glad that you have made a new friend. And no worries I will not feast on it. I do not like spicy food you see."

Vashiel was indeed impressed by the creature and the fact that Imiko had bonded with it so easily. Though he knew not to approach it. Fire lizards were supposed to be fairly protective of the people they bonded with and Vashiel had no intentions of getting burned. He sat down at the chair that was in the room and just looked at Imiko for a bit before finally deciding he had to ask.

"Okay I need to know, what happened to you earlier. Why did you suddenly run away? Did I do something wrong, like I seem to usually do around you."
PostPosted: Wed Aug 27, 2008 7:15 pm

"What are you talking about?" Imiko cocked her head to the side and blinked at him. The eyes of innocence- she seriously hadn't thought of it as running away from him. "I just went to buy some Miyavi and Gackt CDs. I'd meant to check out the mall earlier, but never got the chance yesterday." She gestured at her shopping bag, which held the contents of her excursion.
She looked at Mizu and smiled. "Though she was definitely an unexpected buy. I'm glad I remembered to go though... she's my beautiful little girl!" With that, Imiko scooped her up and started petting the miniature dragon.
"I am not spicy. Why must all people stereotype dragons of firebreathers?"
'You don't breathe fire?'
"White and blue are WATER based. Brown, bronze, and red are fire. It's a shame that us rare water dragonets are lumped in the same group as the commons."
Imiko blinked. 'Rare dragonets?'
"You could say 'dragonets' is the politically correct term. As for rare, yes, water based dragonets are very rare. That is probably why it has been stereotyped that all dragonets breathe fire. As if a friend such as yourself would merit a common." Mizu sniffed daintily. "My ability to control water can supplement yours. I'll be amplifying your powers when the need arises, and help you negate when you mess up."
'You already know about that?' Imiko thought back, blashing and looking shamefaced.
Mizu rubbed her head against Imiko's leg affectionately. "You'll learn, my friend."
Imiko looked relieved, then smiled a full force smile of happiness. She looked over at Vashiel, then started. "Ah! I'm sorry, I forgot you were here," She said. It was easy to forget the world around oneself when engaged in conversation within one's mind. She smiled down at Mizu, who had moved from Imiko's arms to her lap during the course of conversation, and was happily resting with her eyes spinning facets of green and blue. The slight tint of orange that had appeared during her rant disappeared.

"Ah never mind then. I swear this friendship is way too one sided. You know pretty much everything about me, while I have barely scratched the surface of what makes you who you are. But I guess you are not one to make things easy, oh well."

Vashiel relaxed himself in the chair and grabbed the remote. He began to flip through the channels hoping to maybe find something funny to watch. He felt like he needed a good laugh right about now.

Imiko frowned, looking extremely sad. She tried to shift through her thoughts... her memories... anything to tell him not to make him feel like she was the only one who knew anything. But... there were large gaps in her memories. Some of her father's maltreatment of her, some of seeing him then a blank. She rifled through- they were almost blocked. All she could tell was that the substance of the gaps were not happy memories. She looked more sad and confused by the second.
Mizu started at the state her friend was in, then suddenly had a flash of a memory that Imiko had gone past without noticing. Her eyes turned a bright red and she began to hiss. Though it was not Vashiel in the memory, he was the one who had brought it, he was the one who had put her friend in this state. If she remembers, thought the companion, it will destroy her.
Hissing, she launched herself at Vashiel, claws spread to scratch. Imiko snapped out of it. "Mizu?!"

Luckily for himself Vashiel had found nothing on T.V so he had noticed the lizard jumping and trying to attack him. Considering he did not want anymore injuries, he still had somewhat of a black eye after all, he used his powers to make an over size pin cushion for the beast to land on comfortable, and at the same time he moved away from the chair he was sitting on to his side of the room, far away from where he could get hurt. Though hurt he was, mentally and emotionally. The hurt stemmed from the fact that every single time he tried to get to know Imiko better, be it by getting close to her, or just asking her something, he was either ignored, laughed at, or of course attacked/injured in some way. He was actually beginning to regret allowing Imiko access to his memories and to opening himself up to her. He was actually thinking that his old way of doing things, on his own might have been better. He sighed, he needed time to think, not to be interrupted, but also he did not feel like leaving the room, so instead he jumped into his coffin and began to put on the top to close it but not before giving Imiko a warning.

"Look, it is the middle of the day, and I am not normally up at this time. I am closing this and going for a nap, don't try to wake me because I am going to sound proof it and seal it with my powers, and do not try to join our dreams in your sleep, I promise you I won't be dreaming."

Of course the truth was that he wasn't even tired. He was lying because it was the best way to be alone. Though he did wonder, while sealing the coffin, did Imiko notice the hurt in his voice that he had tried to hide.

Imiko blinked. One moment, Mizu was jumping after Vashiel, the next he was climbing in his coffin claiming sleepiness. "But... I didn't tell her to do that..." Came her voice weakly, though it was too late now. Her chest began to hurt and she looked slowly over at her dragonet. At least she seemed more calm now. "Mizu, you can't just attack people like that. And... why is he acting like that?"
The dragonet glided to Imiko's shoulders once more, curling up there. "I take it back. He's an idiot."
No matter how much Imiko asked for clarification, the dragonet refused to disclose more on the subject. Giving up, she simply stared at the T.V. She reached out and grabbed her guitar. Mizu fluttered up to lay atop the T.V., which Imiko muted. Making herself comfortable on the large device, enjoying the heat it still gave off, she settled herself to listen to whatever Imiko played.
Using slaps to tap out a beat as her fingers and hands flew on both ends of the guitar, Imiko made a fairly accurate representation of the song The Riddle on her guitar, singing the vocals with concentration. Music was her escape- it always had been.

Of course Vashiel was awake in his coffin. The blood that he drank was enough to keep him awake and full of energy for an entire week. But he had still shut himself in his coffin and shut out the rest of the world. Thanks to his powers he heard nothing that Imiko said or her singing. He did smile to himself a bit though, proud of what he had not done, which was get angry and threaten or attack something. He had managed to stay calm, which was a slight improvement, but then again he was not angry either. He was just upset, and a big part of him was at the moment wishing he had kept to himself. Why did I give her the gift of my memories, why trust some one I just met. I should have never opened up to anyone. Such thoughts passed through his head as he pondered the answers, unfortunately he had none. And now the problem was that he was forever exposed to someone who was pretty much a stranger to him. He knew a few things about her, but these were things that anyone that who saw her on the street could figure out, well minus her opinions on sex and being bad in the mornings. Though what was worse he had grown attached to her and attracted to her. Something that he hated himself for doing, at least at the moment he did. But what it all came down to was the one sidedness of the situation, something he was not comfortable with and not ready to accept...

Vashiel had no idea how long he had been in the coffin, his own personal think tank, but he had come to a conclusion of what he would do. He had thought about it for a long time. Examining his emotions, something he had never done, and had decided on how he would handle things. What it came down to was the fact that Imiko was his first actual friend, ever. He had a connection with her, one sided or not it was there. And while she may not open to him easily he would not give up on trying. He also had the advantage that one day he would learn everything once he received her blood, even though that too was really her choice. But he knew he had to stop brooding. So he messed up his hair, giving himself the appearance of bed head, after all he did have to look like he had slept. Before getting up though he looked at his watch and saw that he had been in there alone for a good four hours, that shocked him since it did not feel that long. He unsealed the top and then pushed it open and slowly got up.

"Well I needed that, Imiko, are you okay?"

Unknown to Vashiel, at the same time he was wondering about her, Miku and she were discussing why it was Vashiel had gotten so upset out of nowhere. She couldn't understand what was up with him.
When Vashiel got up, she looked up at him, and was about to smile when the words came from her.
"He was faking it. My eyes are keener than yours- he has not slept." The fire lizard's eyes whirled a hostile orange-red color, as Imiko started.
"But..." She was surprised enough to say it out loud, and looked at her dragonet. "If that's the case then... why else would he?"
"He left upset, didn't he? He was getting away from you."
Imiko started once more, then rifled through his memories. The first thoughts he had hit her, and she cut off abruptly, and as such missed the end. From what his memories just told her, she was now an object of regret. "Just like father..." She looked down, then when she looked back up, her eyes shot as much sparks as Miku's were.
"You... you... YOU JERK! If you're going to regret knowing me, at least be open about it! At least then I can tell wether or not you're really my friend or just humoring me because you have to room with me!"

Vashiel took the tongue lashing from Imiko and did not interrupt her. He knew he had hit a sore spot, and it did not help that his act was unconvincing. Though he did feel her look through his memories and felt that she had stopped too soon. He held his head down in shame but answered her calmly none the less. Almost in a monotone way, if it were not for the fact that he was pleading with her.

"You are mistaken my friend. I only thought I regretted it. I came to a conclusion. Please I urge you to look deeper, even though you may not want to. But I do apologize for deceiving you. I required the time alone, but I did not want to worry you. I am sorry."
PostPosted: Thu Aug 28, 2008 5:56 pm

Imiko briefly scanned the remaining memories, and found his words to be true. "Then next time, SAY that. Don't worry about worrying me or whatever. I can't set you straight if you don't SAY anything!" Imiko crossed her arms, still somewhat pissed, though his excuse did lower the rage she'd suddenly felt. Mizu calmed down, and her eyes lost the red tint and were merely orange to show her agitation.
Imiko absentmindedly pet the dragonet, which rubbed her head against Imiko's fingers. Her eyes slowly whirled back into blue.
"He's still an idiot."
Imiko laughed. 'He is indeed.'

"Um look Imiko, in order to show you that I am really sorry, how about we go out tonight? As friends of course, I saw this interesting French Cafe over in the town while I was travelling to the school. Why don't we go there, my treat?"

The moment that Vashiel said it was his treat he realized the mistake he had made. Imiko always ate lots, he would have to dig into his savings to pay for what ever meal they might get. Bye Bye motorcycle... crying That thought ran through his mind, but he thought that spending money of a new friend might be more worthwhile in the long run anyways.
