The pair were calmly continuing on the road when Sani's ears pricked up.
"Pi?" she said questioningly, sniffing the air. Rai stopped, looking down at her Poke'mon, who was staring at the bushes.
"What is it, Sani?" she asked, but got no answer - for at that moment, a Ratatta came rushing out of the bushes. It stopped like a deer in headlights, as if it'd taken the wrong turn and ended up at the wrong place. But the wide-eyed look quickly faded as it bent it's knees and growled, a challenge to Sani and Azurai.
"Let's do it," Rai said with a grin, tying her hair into a ponytail with a ribbon from her pocket. Sani crouched, electricity sparking from the red circles on her cheeks. The Ratatta charged.
"Sani! Dodge to the right!" Azurai shouted, thinking quickly. The Ratatta came speeding towards Sani and leapt at her, but at the last moment the agile Pikachu deftly dodged to the right. The Ratatta crashed into the ground, but was soon up again, whirling around to face Sani. It sped towards her and caught her by surprise, knocking her over with a sound tackle. Sani fell backwards, and before she could get up again, was charged by another tackle that sent her into the air. Azurai thought.
"Sani!" she shouted as the Pikachu fell back down to earth. "Use thunder wave!" Sani's cheeks sparked electricity, and the Pikachu glowed brightly.
"Pikaaaa...CHU!" Sani shouted, and a large wave of electricity exploded from her body in a bubble, emcompassing the Ratatta. The rodent Poke'mon stopped short, paralyzed by Sani's attack.
"Now, finish it Sani! Thundershock!" Azurai shouted, now more confident in her victory. With a final explosion of electricity, the Ratatta fled. "Alright!" Rai exclaimed happily, running over and scooping up Sani into her arms. "Great job! That was an amazing thunder wave!"
"Pi pikachu!" Sani replied happily, and scurried up onto Rai's head, pointing onward. "Chuu!" she ordered. Rai saluted and continued on down the path.
Wish we coulda caught that one, she pondered idly to herself. She was still looking to catch some Poke'mon.

Herman made his way to Route 2 and headed off towards the forest alongside his friend, Lunaris. Along the way he had named his new Pokemon companion LockPick, a name he had chosen partially because of his confidence in his ability to pick just about any lock.
LockPick followed the two, occassionally stopping to play with smaller creatures and such. Hurrying to catch up as his owner got further away, he sprinted after them. As he drew near, LockPick decided to have a little fun. He pounced upon Fyrestorm and began gnawing on his ear playfully.

Fyrestorm didn't take too kindly to the annoying runt gnawing on his ear. With a snarl he swatted him off with a paw.
"Growlllllll....."
The Growlithe eyed the Meowth before walking off to catch up with Lunaris.

LockPick rolled off of the Growlithe as he was swatted away. He purred, taking it as an act of play rather than anger. Bounding off after Herman, LockPick quickly caught up and pranced along beside his owner.
Herman glanced down at his companion, shaking his head with a smirk. He turned to Lunaris. "So, where are we heading?"

Lunaris turned to his companion.
"We are heading to the forest...and once we are out of there, we'll be heading to Pewter to challenge Brock."
Up ahead, the forest loomed. Twist gave a small cry at the sight of the forest. Natural instincts told him that many Pokemon lay within. FyreStorm also perked up, keen senses alerting him to the possible dangers ahead.

Azurai continued down the path, Sani perched on her beanie. They had seen nothing catchable so far, but Rai was hoping. She had realized halfway down Route 2 ((going at a sluggish pace, mind)) that taking Sani into Viridian Forest alone would be brutal and very unfair. There were so many Poke'mon in the forest that putting Sani up against every one of them would tire her out and probably end with her passing out.
"Piiiii," Sani said boredly, as Rai didn't even attempt to decipher the cryptic Poke'mon speech. Well, she couldn't, really. Sani's entire vocab consisted of the three syllables of "Pi-ka-chu." So she wasn't even going to try. It would be like charades with a small electrical rodent. Not that it wouldn't be hilarious.
"We'll be there soon," Rai said idly. Sani nodded.

*continuing onto the second route and looks around her. Continueing on down the path she looks to her Vulpix who is now sniffing at the path infront of her trainer. Syt sits on Aislings bare back, not needing rains or a saddle due to the fact that she raised Aisling since birth and the trust they shared. Rattata sits on ponyta behind Syt, cleaning his purple fur and chittering happily*

Herman listened to his companion, his face contorting in a bit of confusion. "We're going to challange a gym leader?" His eyes widened in surprise. "But I haven't even fought anything yet. I don't know how to battle." LockPick watched as the forest loomed ever closer. He bounded ahead of the others, anxious to get inside and see what he could play with.

*walks on down the route, hoping to continue on to get to viridian forest soon. Straightening her pack, she looks at the sun, trying to tell what time it is. Aisling walks up beside her and nudges her hand, wanting to be pet. Syt reaches up and pats his neck, causing him to wicker softly. Kitsune bii curls up on Aislings back, tired of walking while Miroku sits on Syt's shoulder, cleaning himself*

*continues on down the route, walking at a brisk pace towards the end. Kitsune bii, getting tired of the slightly bumpy ride on Aisling's back jumps into Syt's arms and curls up comfortably. Syt smiles and pets her, holding her close to let her feel save. Miroku curls up close to his trainers neck, chittering happily and a bit tiredly. Aisling walks closer to Syt and nudges her belly affectionatly, causing her to scratch behind his ear. Looking up she could almost see the end of the route, though it is not quite in sight yet*

*getting tired of walking she carefully mounts Aisling, knowing that his flames would not burn her. She never used a saddle or bridle because she's raised Aisling form birth, she trusted him as he trusted her. telling him to walk on, they go on down the route. Kitsune bii rests in Syt's lap now, comfortable. As they round the next bend they see the opening to the viridian forest. At last! the forest! Feeling Syts excitement Aisling gives a little rear before cantering off towards the forest enterence, getting there rather quickly.*

*letting Aisling walk on down the path, she looked around her. She hasnt seen any other creatures or trainers for a long long time now. The only creature she'd seen on this journey was her Rattata, Miroku. She had recieved 6 eggs from her mother who is a breeder but other then that its been uneventful. Syt sighed as she looked around in hopes of spotting anything in the surrounding area*

The sun had begun to set, and the wind began to carry chill. Avis was glad he had his coat with him, sweeping down the front of it to remove any noticeable bits of grime. "I wonder if the rattata will be more active at night time."
Avis proceeded to walk through a grass area, keeping as alert as he could possibly be for a squeek or rustle, he knew there were pokemon around somewhere. "They can't all be hiding or purposely avoiding me..." the thought trailing off as he reached the top of a hill.
"I will be a pokemon breeder, and I will make a mark on this world" he exclaimed in protest to the seemingly non existant pokemon. The sky was turning purple, an omen which Avis had always considered lucky, with a grin spreading across his face, he made his way into the long grasses of Route 2.
"My lucks gotta change" the thought echoing in his mind.

*Continuing on down the path she shifts her weight so that she's resting more comfortably on Aislings back. Pichu curls up on her shoulder while the two magby's sit behind Syt. Vulpix lays curled up in Syt's lap fast asleep*

It had been two slow passing hours searching through the short route and not a sign of life was heard or seen. The moon and stars were seen overhead, providing enough light to recognise Viridian Forest was just up ahead.
A sigh escaped his lips, "I guess theres nothing here for me." His feet stepping infront of the other as the distance to Viridian Forest shortened.
