Brim stared back at Kai as he offered the book to her .

"Well ill have a look but the only parts i can make out some of the writings of my people."

She started to flick through the pages carefully looking at the engravings and odd foreign languages. Glancing over to Kai she could see he was distracted by the city and seemed very uneasy, akila didn’t seem nearly as worried and seemed quite happy.

"You ok Kai? Don’t worry we probably won’t stay here long, i just know this is a good place to get information or anything we may need."

Brim searched through the pages of the book and came to a part she hadn’t read before. The writing was in a language she once learnt to read very holy and usually only read by holy knights who stood for everything honourable as a warrior. she didn’t believe it would have any relevance to Kai but then as she read on there were chapters on how to earn fighting skills that would advance a person as a swordsman.

"it tells of creatures rat like in appearance known for there viciousness that have infested a place with great holy power. a knight who could reach this place would be granted great strength, but it would require a warrior with a strong belief in helping others."

she turned to them both and smiled.

"well it sounds like something that might be for you Kai, so maybe we should see if anyone here has any information about this sanctuary."

Brim continued into the town with the group and took a look around there were quite a few stalls around and she quickly traded a few gil for some supplies. she walked with the others who seemed to be admiring the stalls as well then came to a small out of the way place where a small old lady sat behind a display of artefacts on the ground sheltered by small tent.
brim approached and could see all the strange items, all very bizarre looking. the old woman smiled showing a friendly face and brim smiled back kneeling to take a closer look. a small strange looking bullet caught her eye and she took a look.

"I see you have a sharp eye. that is an elemental bullet. for those that can harness a great deal of power that bullet can be focused into a great weapon."

brim was intrigued and took out some gil.

"is this enough."

the old woman looked at her for a moment then smiled.

"that will be fine."

suddenly a stranger bumped into her quicly swiping some of the artefacts from the floor and taking of.

"Come back here!"

brim held out her hand and as the rags of her clothes flew up she created a spout of lava in front of the thief. he stopped stunned and afraid. he turned to run, but brim created a shield of lava around his escape routes. he dropped the items and ran past. brim didn’t bother chasing him and decided to just return the items.

"thank you young lady. here i will give you some information for your help. to find the strength your friend needs you must go to the swamp of nutano ."

"how did you....?"

the old lady just returned to her stall and brim left still unsure how she new about that.

Akila, who had decided to ride Chirichi instead of take the boat ride, was still comforting her son somewhere near the ship. He wasn't tired out, he was actually far from it, but just travel worn, especially with the tossing seas. Akila had him walk around to check up on him and had just returned to see Brim at the ship. The wind picked up greatly as Akila ran to greet her friend more than once picking her up off the ground and almost blowing the ship back out to sea before Akila stopped and coaxed the wind to bring it back. She laughed, slightly embarassed. Chirichi huffed indignantly.

I figured it out now! The wind follows my emotions... but I'm getting better control though. At least, I hope so because I'd hate to see what'd happen when I'm angry...

She looked at Brim then frowned slightly.

Something's up... what'd you find out?

as kai jumped in the boat still silent brim could only guess he was thinking about the land they were about to travel too and what laid there. Brim jumped in and smiled to akila.

"will you be ok flying to the mist continent with us. im sure Chirichi could use the practice."

brim pulled out some greens she still had and gave them to Chirichi.

"Here, this should give you some extra energy."

brim patted Chirichi on the head, turned and pushed of out to sea.

"Stick close you two."

the boat soon drifted out and the wind carried them swiftly in the right direction.

brim looked to the ship but could not make out if the people on board could hear her if there were any. luckily land was in sight if there were any survivors hopefully they would be ok travelling to shore, there was no way for them to get onboard so it was probably best to head for land. no telling what was out there that did this.

"Lets head to shore."

brim nodded to her party and paddled the boat towards land. after the boat docked she jumped out and walked with the others across the sandy beach to the open fields. she new well the direction to the swamps but as she walked she could sense the same troubling darkness to the north and new there was not much time left. if they weren’t quick they maybe to late. brim wanted to get there as soon as possible but wasn’t sure weather to leave kai with his mission, but walked with him as she thought on it.

All the information poured into Kai's mind at once, at first he was totally confused, but it eventually made sense.

"I..i don't know...But if the orb is growing stronger then i won't have enough time. Theres probably no use in chasing after that at the moment, the best i can do is delay the power of the Orb, it might buy us some time. Plus, i wouldn't let you go alone, what kind of a person would i be then?" he said with a smirk.

"c'mon Kyo" he shouted to his Chocobo, as he jumped on him and rode along side Brim, at a similar speed.

Thinking back to the torn ship they'd seen earlier, he felt like he'd seen something familiar aboard. Maybe it was the boat, or someone on it, but whatever it was there was no time to investigate. He knew now that it was his turn to try and stop the Orb, considering what happened in the past...

brim nodded glad of kai decision, she may not of said it but this threat frightened her and she would need strong friends by her side. there was no time to lose and brim increased her speed with kai at her side racing along side her and akila flying with great speed above.

"This will be are biggest fight yet"

she could see there destination ahead and already she was getting worried as she saw smoke rising from the castle walls and some walls laying in ruin. also what scared her the most was the maniacal laugh she heard above all the other noise.

Kai rode in, following closely behind Brim, entering a completly obliterated town, a place where he visited before in his travels, but not like this. It once was a pleasent sight, and now it was just a wreck. Kai had never been one of those 'against all kind of violence' but to see this, even Kyo made whining noises in fear.
