Siligon slid off his mighty black horse and moved gently towards Galasriniel. He watched her curiously. "Forgive my friend. I am Siligon of Amon Lanc. This is Estel of Lothlorien. We are returning to the castle after rissing the woods of some menacing Orcs." He looked at her several wounds with sympathy. "Come with us if you wish. We will tend to your wounds and share our food." He noticed a sharp and angry gaze from Estel. He felt that she disliked Galasriniel for an unknown reason. However, he was determined to help the fair maiden and learn more of her past.

Galasriniel chuckled to herself and smiled faintly. "That is quite alright. I have plenty of fruit here with me, and I've had worse injuries. Besides, I don't think Estel would be too eager for me to join you guys." she stated, for the look Estel had given Siligon wasn't exactly discrete. "You mentioned Orcs. How many were you two able to slay? Their numbers never do seem to die down these days."

Siligon was disappointed with her response. "So be it then," he said with a smile. "They were not too numerous. We managed to defeat them with ease," he said arrogantly. "We have achieved our mission and now we head home victorious," he proudly proclaimed."

"Well, I congratulate you two." she said as she looked at Siligon and Estel. "It's not a feat very many elves can accomplish." She paused for a moment and looked into the trees behind them. She then returned her attention to them. "Listen, if you two ever require any help in slaying Yrch, I'd be more than happy to assist you." she said.
(Note: Yrch is Elvish for Orc.)

Siligon felt proud to having accomplished his mission. "Thank you kind stranger," he said. "We will be calling upon you soon." He turned to Estel as he said "We must be on our way Estel. The king is awaiting our news."
(Yrch is actually the plural name for Orcs in Sindarin)

Estel nodded while looking slightly annoyed. How could he possibly figure that he could order her around like that? After what they had been through together, it seemed that his heart would never belong to her, but hers would always be his. "Siligon," she whisped as he hopped on the horse "we have to talk." A pained look came upon her face, she couldn't help but blush. Her eyes refused to make contact as the gazed at the horse's back ever so shyly. Good day to you, stranger. May we meet again" she said to the woman as they rode away, slowly but surely.
Suddenly, the horse stopped at a river and Siligon got off the horse, and helped her down.

Galasriniel watched them go and then continued on her way. She wandered in the woods abit and then stopped next to a tree. It looked like all the other trees except that it had a very small carving in the trunk. She looked around to make sure it was safe and climbed up into the tree with the fruit that she had collected. In the higher branches was a platform that she had built. She put down the food in a corner and began to tend to a few of her scratches.

Siligon stepped off his horse and led it to the river. It had been a long journey and he was beginning to feel the strong heat of the forest. He took a moment to think about his life and Estel. It was a cold truth but he knew he could not be with her. He realized that his life was too dark and full of shadows to pull in someone he cared for. As he watched his mighty horse Amadeus sip the cold and refreshing water. He has been there since the beginning; a loyal friend of legendary descent from the great Mearas of Orome. He knew that Amadeus would be his only companion for life. He watchd Estel as she washed her wounds in the water. Though he greatly cared for her he decided to let her go her own way. "We are nearing the castle. We shall be there in one day's ride." He paused and lowered his voice. "I shall head for Rivendell upon our arrival. I greatly wish to see my old friend Elrond for I have much to tell him." He noticed her disappointment yet suppressed his own.

"No!" She sputtered it so quickly, she hadn't had a moment to think. "Siligon, please take me with you, I must speak with you. Please" Her eyes pleaded with him as she watched him turn his head, as if he were trying to hide. "What are you hiding from me?" She said slowly. Hiding truth was never a good idea, she remembered.

Galasriniel finished treating her wounds and began to set some berries in front of her in a circular patern. She then let out a series of a few short whistles. About five minutes later, a little blue jay flew onto the platform and began eating the berries. She smiled and began to gently stroke the little bird's head.
(Yeah, I know there aren't any blue jays in LOTR, but oh well. I figured it to be more likely than a cockatiel.)

"Estel, you must understand?" Siligon said as they approached the castle. "I am a wandering Elf without boundaries or relations. This has been my life for as long as I can remember and I can not change now. To bring you into my world would destroy you and that I will not allow to happen." He noticed a tear run down her cheek and it struck him like an arrow through his heart. "Please understand. I care for you too much to let you make this decision. Please report to the king of our mission. I will be leaving now for Rivendell. I must tarry no longer for I am days away and my words with Elrond are of great importance. Goodbye Estel. I shall never forget thee and perhaps we will meet again." Siligon rode off with great speed as he faced forward and did not look back. He hoped that one day, she would forget him and forsake bringing her life into his world.

Estel stared long and hard at the direction he had just ridden off to. She hoped he would turn around and come back. A guard finally walked up to her and said "Miss? Are you allright?" Estel turned around and smiled, "Yes, I am fine" she whispered and walked towards the dwelling of the King.

The bluebird that Galasriniel had been stroking suddenly spread out it's wngs and took flight towards the castle. "Hey!" she said aloud as the bird took off. "Where are you going?" When the blue jay didn't respond and kept going, she let out a sigh and jumped out of the tree, landing on the ground. She checked to make sure that she had plenty of arrows with her still and began to wander around.

Estel walked out of the King's dwelling. He was pleased with her, but she was still not pleased with herself. The trip had brought her terrible sorrow and she needed to cheer herself up again. Suddenly, a thought struck her brain, that young lady in the woods. She must go back and speak with her.
Estel mounted her horse and raced off to find that young woman they had met just the other day.

22 Narquelie in the King's Reckoning Estel walked out of the King's dwelling. He was pleased with her, but she was still not pleased with herself. Estel mounted her horse and raced off to find that young woman they had met just the other day. As Estel was racing along, the blue jay found her and landed on her shoulder. Meanwhile, as Galasriniel was wandering around, she heard a rustle in the bushes. She quickly withdrew an arrow and fired it into the bushes, and out jumped a little red fox. She let out a sigh. "Keela, don't do that to me! I thought you were an Orc." The fox hung it's head guiltily. Galasriniel shook her head then bent down to pet it. "It's ok, Keela. I'm just saying that for your sake. I could've killed you there." The fox enjoyed the petting then ran off. She watched it go then retrieved her arrow and continued to wander around.
