Yayy, this thread is back.

Caetano Veloso - "Michelangelo Antonioni"

This song is amazing, so eerie, dramatic, and beautiful.

I first heard it in the movie Eros, a collection of 3 short films about love/eroticism [including one by Wong Kar Wai]... the song was named after the director of the 3rd film.

Oh, I wanted to see that movie. Bah. We don't get half of the movies I want to see in the theatre here, and by the time they come out on video I completely forget.

Hmm... I just turned my stereo off. Last song was "Mourning Star" by Kamelot. Although, "The Human Stain" is stuck in my head. They recently released the video for it. Click it.

The video fits the concept well and all, but somehow, I imagined it being more colorful. I mean, c'mon. The second line is "carmine red, and deep." Gimme some color!

It's all thanks to Ryan and Netflix. He's a big movie person and he has great taste, so I just watch whatever he brings home. xD

I really liked Wong Kar Wai's short film called "The Hand" in Eros, but the other 2 films lacked the same kind of depth. I liked seeing how directors from different cultural backgrounds approached love and sex... Oddly "The Hand" was the only one that didn't explicitly show nudity [or a full-frontal masturbation scene like in one of the films *cough*], yet it ended up being WAY more passionate and sexy than the other two. The whole movie had a lot of potential, but after "The Hand" ended, the rest was somewhat of a disappointment.

Death Cab for Cutie - Marching Bands of Manhattan

I love this song, the melody is so...bittersweet almost to me. Plus I really like the piano near the end, so clear. The lyrics are pretty cool too.

Here is a video that has the song in it. It's a bit trippy but I think that's what I like about it.

Coffee Shop- Landon Pigg

It's that song from De Beer's new holiday commercial.
Y'know, the one with the couple in the car.
And at a red right, the man slips a diamond necklace into the woman's hand.
Very sweet song.

"Beauty of the Beast" by Nightwish. *sigh* Can the joke be over already, guys? Get a REAL replacement for Tarja. Or just admit that it's pretty ******** sad your back-up singer is better than your lead, give the chickie the boot, and make Marco lead. Whatever.

Ingrid Michaelson - The Way I Am

"Cause I love the way you say 'good morning'
And you take me the way I am."

What a sweet song. <3

The Bird and the Bee - Again & Again

These guys are SO amazing!
Seriously, their music is like, the electronic sounds of Imogen Heap meets the versatility and eerie beauty of Feist, with a touch of Metric's abstract lyrics. So ******** good. I went out and bought their album from Borders for my boyfriend. I'm going to give it to him on his birthday. I KNOW he'll fall in love with them too.

I even tested it out and let one of their songs play softly on my laptop. And he asked me to turn it up. He's NEVER asked me to do that before. xd

I've been listening to "In The car" By Barenaked Ladies a lot, while driving my car.

But man, I need to get some more music, in the past 3 days I've listened to my entire cd collection through my new ipod. emo
