Grunge just got more popular, and Metal lost popularity in the late 80's/early 90's. Or actually, Metal was never extremely popular, in the 80's it was more about hair bands like Poison, Cinderella and Motley Crue, which I personally like. I'm not personally a fan of Grunge, but you can like what you want, and don't let others tell you otherwise.

You should listen to what you want, regardless of whether it is considered "Metal" or not. Don't follow little "guidelines" just because a bunch of retarded teenagers will say that you are a "poseur" if you don't listen to one of thier shitty bands or if they don't like one of your bands. They don't realize that by closing themselves off to other forms of music and following ridiculous little rules and guidelines to be "cool", makes them the REAL poseurs here, logically speaking.

This forum is filled with elitists who are merely trying to be "differrent"... who will say nothing to others but "I am this and you aren't" without providing any logicaly justifiable statements to back up their arguements. Just because you listen to one thing and hate another doesn't make you "authentic". Let's just look at at Pimpgundam, for example. Just because you start listening to "good" bands just to be considered "cool" with the other "metalheads" doesn't automatically make you "authentic''. xd

What an irresponsible and immature way of thinking. Apparently, this is what happens when little children try to "rebel" out of their own ignorance and self-denial by listening to only bands that aren't at all popular, and take it even further then it was doing before, thus doing stupider things and generally having stupider ideals on the matter, creating misconceptions for everyone and causing more of the scum that they pretend to "loathe" just because it might make them "cool". You people need to learn to think for yourselves.

I agree with what he said to be honest. Good thing I don't care what people think of the stuff I listen to. Like just a bit ago I was listening to Hatebreed (mainstream-ish) and now I'm listening to Incantation.

eek surprised I only listen to what I like. crying If I wanted to listen to what everyone else is, I would buy Megadeth and Hellion or CoB albums. I like Pixies and Tenacious D, Radiohead and Queen, does that make me a poser? I would start saying, only metal is good, I admit to liking Beastie Boys and Cypress Hill, but I guess that is trying to impress you guys. sad
I also like Cradle Of Filth, you dont, I also dislike Black Sabbath, I think they are over rated. So I just want to say I am not trying to impress anyone. sad
