I have a small question, why am I not allowed anywhere near any sort of electronic equiptment around here?

Demi humans, or more appropriately for the purposes of this...um, decree, partial monsters (excluding any main protagonists in nearly all situations,) are prone to subversion by hig level monsters and demons, primarily those who have a noticable focus on the mind. As such granting you access to the electronic would put you in a position to be worth devoting enough focus to so that you access to the interior of this place could be used to make a failed attempt at cracking the security wide open but distracting many of the other members for valuable seconds before the hoards ran up from all directions in a terrible ground-based-locust-swarm-esqe manner.
...and we found enough cat-girl fur/hair in all of the keyboards and other button thingies to build another catgirl. Could have been anyone* but until the base is fitted with those keyboard covers and... um, we caulk up the gaps between the microwave buttons you will just have to manage.

except the real reason why demi-humans are kept from secure data is because they're monsters.
They're just humanish monsters.

What's the worst that could possibly happen with me just pressing a few buttons on the microwave?

As long as you remember to take the spoon out of the tray before you put it in the microwave this time, I have no problems with you pressing its buttons.
