That's good! 3nodding I've actually never tried Memrise, but I heard it' s good so I'd like to try. Also, I've never heard of those books, are they good? Ans It's okay to take your time in learning Japanese, it isn't a race. I have to keep reminding myself that too haha.

Memrise is probably the best free app I've used for flash cards because it has pretty good audio for each card in most lessons. I think I liked it better before they did the whole space theme thing.
The official Japanese course has the videos for pro members that are kind of fun but I think it's just best for words and phrases.
SitFun is just old I think. They were cheap on Amazon so I got them. Genki seems to be a bit better. I think I got most of the way through book 1 a year ago. The class I'm starting next week wants us to use Genki.

Did you learn most of your Japanese through conversation?

Ahh okay maybe I will try Memrise then! And the Genki books are amazing, I used them for my elementary Japanese classes when I first started university and I wish I knew about them when I first started learning Japanese! And at first yeah I mainly learned through conversation and watching Youtube videos where the person speaks in Japanese and I tried to match it with the English subtitles. Lately I've been researching more on grammar, basically just adding more structure into my studies.

I'm KrispyR if you want a friend to compete with. They have weekly/monthly/all time leaderboards. It definitely helped when my friend was super into it. But I think they changed how the scoring works since then too. :/
Which youtubers do you watch the most? Or do you search different ones all the time?

oooh okay! I watch different ones all the time but there's a youtuber called Steph Choi and I love her videos! She lives in Japan and she's half Korean and Japanese but she vlogs about her life with her fam in Japanese and English with little lessons thrown in here and there and I learn so so much! I highly recommend her!

Hi everyone. みんなさん こんにちは
Just showing a little activity in the guild.
And I'd like to share that I started taking Japanese classes at a university. My teacher is ホーイ先生. So far we have finished hiragana and we're currently working on すうじ and これ/それ/あれ.
